Sadly this city will never see a REAL Barns & Noble do to the fact this little shop. It mainly serves only the intrest of text books and ISU paraphernalia for ISU. What other reading material they do hold is minuscule at best. And most of that is geared towards the classics that are suggested and/or required reading for literature classes. So if Youre Avid Reader, that enjoys wondering through book stores & enjoys this companys normal format, You will most assuredly be left wanting.

This is an interesting truncated version of Barnes and Noble, with more college sweatshirts etc. than books. Some whole genres have less than a single shelf. But being intended for students who dont likely have time to read much beyond their textbooks (which take up the whole second floor), its appropriate to its audience. Friendly staff and well-kept.

Staff was helpful and it had a good atmosphere. After I finished my business in the store I took a walk through the ISU campus and enjoyed the beautiful scenery. ISU must have a great grounds and maintenance section...

Nice store, clean, however it has very few books for those who are not students. Perhaps one floor could be for students and one floor for regular patrons?

ISU is the best

I would recommend ordering from anywhere but this book store unless you want to chance not getting your books before the start of classes. Horrible customer service, phone goes to automatic voicemail, ordered books months ago and still nothing.It would be nice to know if my books will be available before classes start, unfortunately the staff simply will not answer the phone or respond to emails.This is not the first time Ive had a problem ordering from this store. I was able to order all of my books accept for one lab and one textbook from the Barnes and Noble corporate store. I wish we could just bypass this store altogether, the customer service and ordering process is a huge blight to the Barnes and Noble name.

Just sat at Starbucks inside the bookstore just relaxing out of the sun the staff that I spoke with was really polite and helpful had a tea.The books etc look good nice store but things are overpriced unfortunately.

Even on move-in day the staff were attentive and helpful. I was able to find what I wanted and needed very quickly and painlessly. Prices were reasonable and I couldnt find cheaper books on Amazon. They had a nice selection of supplies as well as books.

Text books are located upstairs. Staffed with students. Good variety of buying/ renting options. This was my first visit since I typically buy online however the pricing was competitive so I plan on coming back here going forward. Checkout was quick and painless.

Every semester (Im a senior so Ive gone through this at least 7 times) I go here to get my textbooks. Typically theres a line that is AT LEAST a 30 minute wait, because they are always understaffed at the beginning of each semester. At worst I have waited 1.5 hours. Then when you finally get to the front of the line, you have to go somewhere else to get the help you need, the workers dont know how to help you, or they give you wrong information that will probably waste your time and money. At this point the only reason I go here is because its the only place where my textbooks are offered and I have no other choice.

Slightly higher prices than I like but they have almost everything you may need for a college course.

The store is nice if you want to grab a book or get some coffee. However, the clothes for Indiana State is TOO pricey. I understand the jackets my be Champion, but the price for a simple few words shouldnt cost $60-$80. Thats why all the clothes are so stocked, because people look at, frown, then put it back. Some the items such as hand sanitizer and pencils are gonna have to be $8 & tax. So, be fore warned, this store isnt good for college students on a budget.

For 3 years, I have ordered books from here. Ive ordered them online and then go to the bookstore to pick them up, Ive ordered them at the store. Each time I have given them my information as well as my sons information and it has been a hassle almost every single time. I recently returned my sons book late and they had a hard time looking it up and finally they assured me that his account was clear. Later we get an email saying he owes $232.73 to replace the book. This is a very disorganized place. I buy books from Amazon now. Guess what? Ive not had one problem. My advice, avoid this bookstore.

Waited an hour and a half for my books and there was only 2 people working. Kind of disappointed considering they barely hire anyone when they are understaffed. I love the atmosphere and merchandise I just think another method needs to be implemented for books.

Ran a happy hour special during ISU parent’s weekend starting at 4:00 on Saturday, but no one was there to serve. We waited until 4:15 and then left. I suggest you don’t run special promotions if you can’t staff them.

Everyone i dealt with was very nice, smiling and helpful and best of all, seemed to have positive attitudes!!

Awful services. I am an online student at the university. Ive emailed the store several times about being charged twice for books that were either on hold or on back order. If you can order your books from another store Id advise you to do so.

They screw you over on books and take them off your order after you pay for them if they’re on backorder or out of stock. Terrible service for online ordering. Better off ordering the books off of amazon. Avoid this bookstore until they can get their stuff organized. I’m not letting them fail me.

Staff are pleasant, friendly, and knowledgeable. But Im very displeased with their system for ordering textbooks. Students can request which option they want - rent used, rent new, buy used, or buy new - but theres no way of telling what youll end up with. You may place an order for one option, but if they dont have that option in stock, they charge you for the next best option, without notifying you of the change. For example, I placed an order for renting a used textbook for one of my classes, but when I picked it up, I realized they gave me a new, loose-leaf version, which is apparently not available to rent, only to buy. So I was unknowingly charged for buying a full-price new textbook. I wish they would change this policy, at least notifying students when the option they desire is unavailable/that theyll be charged for a price other than that displayed at the point of placing the order.

Polite and helpful staff, decent selection of books, Id give 6 stars if I could, it certainly beat expectations.

Do not order your textbooks from their website. Even renting them is a rip-off. They will give you an estimate and when they finally arrive it will be $100-150 more than what the estimate was. They have a disclosure on the website that says they estimate the cost but to be off by that much is insane! I’ll order earlier next time and order through Alibris. When I looked up what it would have cost me through Alibris I would have saved $250!! 🤬

I returned that gift to Amazon and went to try to order something from the ISU bookstore, hoping it would arrive in time for Christmas. Record fast shipping time, and VERY happy with the quality. Barnes and noble school book stores are always legit.

Theyve got all the books you need for school. Dont look for a variety of much else. If you need ISU swag, also the place for it!

Starbucks in name only. They sell the brand. Limited in books that are not textbooks. Ckean and quiet.

It has just about every genre you can think of. Its definitely a place for bookworms like myself.

I was in Terre Haute for work recently, and i had passed by here the previous afternoon i got into town. So the next day i decided to stop in. This happens to be a part of Barnes & Noble that is connected to ISU, just sharing that for folks who dont know. There arent many books here for outside of ISU students, i mean there was little inventory. I am sure this bookstore has all the students need as far as textbooks and specific study materials . I thought the snacks were not really that affordable and the starbucks bakery display was very little. I asked an associate in the store, if there is another bookstore on the actual ISU campus she replied no and that the Barnes & noble served as the Universities only bookstore. If you need any kind of ISU apparel, the store is complete with those products. Books, i dont there was to great of a selection. This is one of the most boring College bookstores i have been in,also supplies were expensive (even clearance ).

The regular book selection is low. This bookstore is geared towards college students. Usually has overpriced items. The bookstore does have a good environment.
