A tiny bit pricey for new instruments (maybe $10 more than buying from manufacturer for the instrument I purchased).BUT you are absolutely getting your moneys worth in customer service and friendly staff! The fellas that were there when we went in were helpful, knowledgeable, and very accommodating to myself and my young kiddo. I am absolutely considering taking lessons at Popejoy.

Great Guitar Repair. I had a beloved guitar that I dropped and give it a cracked neck and a separating fretboard. Erick got it all glued back together and hid the repair well. Even knowing where the repair is, you have to have just the right light to see it. You cannot beat the price of the repair. If they will have me at Popejoy, they will get my fret redressing jobs too. I could not be happier.

He sat me down and showed me his keyboard teaching method with a free lesson. Maybe he cant always do that, but it sure sold me. He has a good sense of humor too.

The owner is very knowledgeable and attentive to detail . My husband and I took two guitars in to have one string on both reattached. The waiting for assistance was minimal and we left with both guitars repaired. Mr. Popejoy was a pleasure and we will definitely return to his shop whenever we need a repair or just have questions. He also gives guitar lessons which we may be interested in for our grandson.

For years Ive wanted to start learning the violin and Ive finally gotten into a place to get one yesterday - that place being here. Id heard that the owner was super helpful in getting you what you needed. Not only did he show me the basics of holding and form but he gave me several pointers free of charge. Got everything I need at a great price and Im already learning my first few notes. HIGHLY recommend.

This is such a cool place.

Went in to have my guitar worked on the nut needed put back on an some slight intonation. The elderly man went on to say how the long the neck was affects whether the guitar will tune or not he said I might have thought it was in tune before the nut came off. Ive been playing guitar for 8 years I know whether its in tune or not. He said there was nothing he could do. Went to main mix they fixed in within a couple hours. Horrible service

Polite and courteous service. I needed an E string put on my sons Violin and I couldnt have asked for better service. The gentleman put the string on quickly and tuned the Violin for only $3! Everywhere else in town that I called said that it would be a minimum of $20. He even took the time to explain where the placement of the bridge should be located and how to make adjustments to ensure that it is tuned appropriately. Very satisfied and will definitely return for future repairs!

Louie Popejoy is a great guy. Took my guitar in there to get a set of strings. Because 1 of mine broke. But the rest were new. He put a string on my guitar . And I bought 2 new sets for half the price of other stores.
