Instrumental Music has always been the go-to place equipment. They also support our music associations. Top notch instruments and supplies at very decent prices.
Had a bass intonation done here, it took a bit longer than I was told (about a month in total) but the quality of the service when I got it back was no less than top quality and the customer service was really top notch. Overall for the quality 5 stars!
Great staff. Great deal. Thank you.
This is an excellent music store with a well-informed staff and extensive acoustic guitar selection (any Martin enthusiast will be ecstatic!). I did encounter a shipping issue with UPS but the staff dealt with it swiftly and appropriately. Nothing but good things to say about these folks!
John and his crew are friendly, knowledgeable and extremely helpful. I always get the best price compared to the national chain stores. Stop by and check them out. You’ll be glad you did.
Best deals, great inventory and selection. Customer service is Top Notch, Knowledgeable, and Friendly. Rare in this day and age. Great place for ALL your musical needs. Including lessons !
Ive been going there for years. You would think with the Corona Virus in full swing that the shop would be barely staying alive. On the contrary, its the best its ever looked and completely stocked with top drawer items. The new acoustic guitar room was recently expanded and their selection of great guitars will blow your mind. Amps, pedals, cords are all in inventory. John is a pleasure to work with, in fact the whole staff are super positive and help create a wonderful atmosphere for all that enter their world. Two Thumbs up! 7/20/20
Great music store with employees and great customer service. Really like that place!
Great staff and selection 🤙
Bought a Roland D50 in 1987 from here. Been coming back ever since! Great store with a great selection of instruments. The store is clean and well organized. The staff is super knowledgable, patient, friendly and accommodating! You will be MUCH better served here than at that big box store :)
This was already the best guitar store, and now theyve expanded. Its even better!
Best place in town!
Great store and honestly priced instrument services and repairs.
Great inventory, great staff!
Nice Helpful staff!
Music and art related shops are few and far between in the Thousand Oaks / Westlake area, which is odd considering a good number of entertainers choose to live here. Instrumental Music is a local business worth supporting. Ive been going there for years and the reps are incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. They are one of the few shops that include custom rooms for brands like Taylor and Martin. They host clinics all the time and are always open to working out a deal.
They are so helpful and knowledgable . The moment I walked in the door I was greeted with May I help you ? And a smile . I was at Guitar Center looking for a mandolin for 45 mins and finally had to flag someone down . I noticed some small cracks on one of the mandolins neck . I showed it to the store clerk and he just shrugged his shoulders and just said to just put it back on the rack . I knew right there that maybe I should look somewhere else . Kudos Instrumental Music in Thousand Oaks !
Cant give a music store less than 4 stars because I appreciate them simply being in business, but I get the feeling that the people behind the counter are just trying to sell me things.
I just picked up my guitar from them because I had a set of seymor johnson pickups installed. They did a great job on the install and my guitar sounds phenomenal in comparison to the stock pickups! Ive been shopping here for about 3 months and the staff is alway knowledgeable and friendly. They have a great selection. They are affordable and they are willing to go out of thier way to price match. Shop with confidence as this place is legit!
Customer Service: When I entered the shop a couple of weeks ago, I was greeted in a polite way. Even though I wasnt looking to buy anything, they were just as courteous and let me jam out on some nice guitars without bothering or constantly watching me like other guitar shops do. Never felt uncomfortable with any of the employees. All were very knowledgeable and helpful in selecting a guitar when I returned.Products: Usually small shops dont make enough to buy into big-name brands like Fender, Gibson, or Taylor. Such was not the case with Instrumental Music. Since its been around for 36 years, all the big names you see at Guitar Center are all there at the shop, with a TON of variety in guitars and amps. You can tell that the owners here are focused on meeting the needs of their customers, not being a poster-child for big companies. They also sell a variety of books, lessons, rentals, etc. There are a couple of quiet rooms where you can play some high-end guitars. Very impressed.Environment: Overall quiet. They have a policy to not let people mindlessly play acoustic drums, and you have to request to use the kits. While others would find this restricting, its actually really nice because it reduces noise and stress for the rest of the customers. Guitars were in great shape, set up, and ready to play.Price: AWESOME PRICES. One of the higher points of this business. They have GREAT deals. I got a couple hundred dollars knocked off a brand-new PRS. Cant be beat on any online store or guitar shop. After I visited this shop, I had some downtime to check out the Guitar Center in Westlake Village, and the differences were substantial. Heres my experience with Guitar Center:-No greeting until I was in the store 20 minutes playing a guitar-Bad selection of guitars. Disappointed in the ratio of crap guitars to nice ones. Little variety in amps.-Equipment in bad shape. The electronic drum kits hardly worked. Every guitar I played was in horribly bad tuning, and the action on each was absolutely astounding. I played the same PRS I played at Instrumental Music and it made me not want to buy a PRS. A PRS GUITAR. How does this company expect to sell anything??-Not many guitars. For a guitar shop, there werent nearly as many guitars as there was DJ equipment, speakers, pianos, and drums. The guitars were shoved to the back of the store behind all the forementioned crap.-Pricing was...meh.Save time and money and go to Instrumental Music!
