Unfortunately, there is no option for zero stars, and all I can do is explain why I completely warn you away. The, I assume manager, doesnt seem to answer many calls, and says one thing but does another. My family members car has been there for almost 6 weeks and counting when it was only supposed to be three days. I understand shipping issues, but now its because they are telling their employees not to work on the car and is messing up everyones daily lives. He can not take care of his responsibilities to himself or his family. I dont know who would rate this place higher than 1 star, but many of us warn you away because they arent even willing to deal with the problems they cause because they cant do their jobs. Service isnt listed because the transmission that they are supposed to fix? It isnt being fixed, so its not listed. It should be priority at this point!

Avoid this location like the plague. They are liars and thieves.I brought my 1998 Chevy Tracker (Only 68,000 miles) with two issues:PO 303 (Engine Misfire Cylinder 3)PO 740 (Transmission Torque Converter not Locking Up fully)They promise a free diagnostic and then called me back saying yes you have codes (ALREADY TOLD THEM ABOUT THE CODES) and then lead you down to a $137.55 fee and then say that you need a new engine when all you need is a tune up. I asked if the engine had spark and they said that would cost extra but should have been included in the diagnostic. They then said I either have to buy a new engine or just pick it up. When I asked what the Diagnostic entailed they argue with you, call you names, called my car a joke and then threatened to charge me $49 a day for storage unless I came right now. I had to drive down there to get my car and pay a ransom of $137.55 just to get it back with no work done. It was also parked in a Handicap spot (No doubt on purpose as I had just gotten into argument about their terrible customer service designed to steal money) and thank god I didnt get a ticket or towed.Thank god I called corporate and they promised to credit me back the fee. I will be bringing it to the Point Pleasant AAMCO who promised me to fix it and judging by their reviews I believe them.Liars and thieves, do not trust the Toms River AAMCO Branch.

Really wish they allowed for negative stars as this location deserves to be out of business. My son took his truck to have the coolant flushed because of a radiator leak. They also said that both the trans and coolant should be flushed but they said ok, then they had to do a diagnostic first but my son was told they would still do the flush. Really only wanted to coolant flush but they said it would be better to do both. 2 days later, after numerous calls, we are told they will not do the flushes. we are told that the trans flush wont help, which I didnt want in the first place and that they did not have time to do the coolant flush. But they had time to charge us for the diagnostic, which since they refused to do the work we should not have to pay for.Seriously read all of the other reviews, they are not honest.

By far the best experience Ive had at a repair shop. They were so kind and patient with me. They let me make my decision on my own with out any rush or persistence from them. Im a big advocate for customer service and these guys go above and beyond. I would recommend this shop to EVERYONE.

Hello.... Do not,I repeat DO NOT use this location EVER! I dropped my truck off on May 7th,Gave them a deposit of $1,600 because the manager said “it would be done on the 14th” which was the following Wednesday.I called that day and the manager said that we are over booked with cars and can’t give a completion date smh I called back everyday to see where we were and he didn’t have a answer for me.Today is the 29th and I went in there and raised hell.All of a sudden my truck is getting fixed and it’s supposed be done this afternoon.ONCE AGAIN DO NOT USE THIS LOCATION EVER!!!!!!!!!!!

I’ve never written a review for a business before but the treatment I got at AAMCO Toms River was so horrible I needed to warn other people. I dropped my vehicle off at the shop being told it would be done in four days, after four days have gone by my vehicle was not even started yet so they extended it another three days. At the end of the week my vehicle still was not started yet even though I had previously paid in full for all of the work that was to be done. I was displeased with the service so I wanted my vehicle and transmission back so I could take it to another place. The owner Mr. Gill refused to let me have my vehicle back stating that they were going to do the work even if I say no. I had to contact local law-enforcement to come and help me get my property back. I was able to get my property back from the shop but they refused to give me a refund. They robbed me of over $1000. Also while I was there dealing with this another customer came in to pick up their vehicle from a $30 oil change and was charged $90. When the customer asked how it cost $90 the gentleman behind the counter began screaming yelling and cussing in the customers face. I wouldn’t want my worst enemy to get work done at the shop and I suggest you don’t either.

If I could give a NEGATIVE STAR I would My vehicle was towed to Aamco on 7/20/2020 @ about 930am to have the slavecylinder/master cylinder&clutch hose. The day it was towed there I had informed them what needed to be done as I also understood protocols. It needed a battery as well. when I spoke to them on Tuesday 7/21/2020 they tried to charge me $500 for a battery which is TOPS $200,so I had purchased my own battery and brought it there. They were extremely rude and nasty from then on, then again on Wednesday night 7/22/2020when they sent me the INSANE parts prices yet again, I was then going to bring my own parts, spoke with the general manager and he said he would match the price so I could give them to the business. The price was NOT matched but aside that they then said the vehicle would be ready Monday 7/27/2020as they have to test drive it after doing the slave cylinder etc repair. Monday went to pick it up, got into the vehicle(it’s stick shift) went to reverse IMMEDIATELY brakes straight to the floor, put the car in park went inside and spoke with Gill, he said mechanics are gone to come back in the morning Tuesday7/28/2020. I left went straight home live about 1 mile.Now Tuesdaymorning drive the vehicle back there& the mechanic comes out and says brake line is bad hence brakes to the floor. They then said the vehicle is UNSAFE to drive BUT did not want to work on the vehicle due to me “causing problems” which they mean because I wasn’t allowing them to price gouge! THEY LET ME AND MY CHILDREN DRIVE AWAY IN AN UNSAFE VEHICLE. $1000.00 worth of work to NOW have to have it towed to a REAL automotive shop and EXACTLY what I suspected not 1but 4 brakes hoses damaged DUE TO THEIR NEGLIGENCE. I get things happen BUT to REFUSE to work on the vehicle THEY SABOTAGED, when they SHOULD have replaced the FOUR hoses they damaged before me picking up the vehicle. Instead they refused to fix it &had me leave with my 2 kids in a vehicle they said is UNSAFE TO DRIVE. So now have to pay500 to fix what they broke.

Avoid like the plague. This place is just a scam. Took my truck for over a week and it was sitting in that parking lot of the business next door. Was told it would be done in 1-3 days. When I tried to pick the truck up to bring it to another shop I was told I cannot get my keys until the work is comple and I cannot receive a refund. ( I was paid in full for $1044) wasnt until I got the local police there that I got my keys back and then they tell me I am being charged for storage and if that isnt bad enough Ill need to wait for a check to be mailed to me because they cannot refund my credit card. Also they refuse to put anything in writing about the refund! I read some of these bad reviews and thought some people are just jerks but no these people are criminals. This is the first bad review I have ever written. You have been warned!!! DO NOT GO HERE!

I talked to the owner about a warranty and he was very courteous. One thing I value is when there is a sense of dignity and respect to customers and the owner is someone who truly makes customers feel well. I believe Aamco as a corporation has a great reputation and I hope to come back again!

Scheduled my appt online for my car 3 days in advance . Called the next day and confirmed. Arrived at the shop and they said theres no available bays then claimed because I used the national call number they could not honor my appt. OK it happens. They said they would call me to reschedule. No call. Very disappointed.

My wife and I were just at this location and we were very pleased with the courteous employees and profession work that was done on our vehicle. We had taken our car to the dealership and was told we needed a whole new transmission for about $5500. At AAMCO they just said the transmission needed to be flushed and for $220.00 we have solved the problem and were on our way!!! We are so pleased by their honesty and professionalism. We would highly recommend anyone to use AAMCO for their car repairs and needs.

Mike has always been by my go to guy for anything dealing with my work truck. Always up front and honest about what is needed and what is not. Other places Ive been to have try to sell you on items or services that are simply not needed or try to sell you on much more than what is required to get my truck running smoothly. Never feel that way when Ive dealt with Mike or any of the techs there. Top notch. Would highly recommend.

I called there because I thought I had a possible transmission problem. The lady on the phone told me to bring it there at the time that I said I would. She said they will check it for free and tell me what the problem is. So I get there and the guy tells me that I would have to leave it there the night before and leave it there the next day. I told him its hard for me to find a ride to drop off and pick up the car that Im going to have to make an appointment and bring it and Ill have to stay there and wait for it. Which most mechanics allow people to wait. Well the guy says to me Im sorry but we dont allow people to wait they have to drop off the car the night before. I said well I cant do that and he said Im sorry then we cant help you so I said ok thank you and I walked out. I guess they dont mind losing business by telling people they cant stay there and wait for their car. Especially if its only going to be a few hours or less to check the car. I will never go back there again. Even if its for a simple repair. Never again. What he told me when I got there, why couldnt the lady on the phone tell me the same thing so I didnt waste a trip going there in the 95 degree heat. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Its not worth the headache.

Very Unprofessional. They will promise you the world until they have your money, and then completely forget about you. They have told numerous lies over the phone, such as “oh your vehicle will be done tomorrow, i’ll Give you a call”, never received a call and come to find out they outsource the work to other shops and it’s not even at the same location. After a month of playing games on the phone, I finally show up and they say oh your vehicles been done for a few days. No phone call or update. Don’t recommend. The only reason they have 2 stars is because the shop they sent it too that actually did the work seems to be solid.

I had made an appointment for my oil change and when I got to the location they couldn’t find me in the computer. Mike took care of me and was able to get me in for the service with no questions. My cars transmission went bad and being stuck in a state where I don’t know which way to go I googled anyone that could possibly help and after reading reviews AMMCO came up and I went in. Soon as I walked in I was greeted by a gentleman who turned out to be the manager there and 2 other very friendly people that assisted me outside to my car after telling them what was wrong and took control of the situation. Never have i been treated with so much respect even tho I have zero knowledge on cars. My wife and child were told to come inside and got some snacks coffee while the manager ad his team went over everything with me and not only did they help me and get me back on the road in a day but also educated me on what was wrong and how things worked . After a diagnosis of my wifes cars trouble was told to me. She drove my Truck to pick me up. As I waited to pay, the manager would not release her car . After 10 minutes of waiting and 3 attempts to have my credit card read. He finally gave me the keyes. Later that night I had to re-read the numbers 3 times before the ordeal was over. Never Again

Excellent experience from start to finish. I called their shop, spoke to Maddy and told him I had a blown 4x4 transfer case. He had it towed to their shop at no charge, gave me a cost estimate the next day and had it ready on time and under budget. They also checked the transmission and topped off the ATF fluid.payment plan is bestGreat company to do business with.My son had them rebuild the transmission in his Blazer two years ago. I brought my car in for transmission work to be done. Paid them in full up front. After 5 weeks with my car. They broke the axle on the car and then. On a test drive my car caught fire. In their possession. Now I have no car and the will not reimburse me any of my money. So I would not recommend this shop for anyone.

I dont typically write bad reviews but this place absolutely deserves it. My old mechanic went out of business and I had to find a new place. I read the reviews here and decided to give them the benefit of the doubt even though there were some negative reviews. This place is very poorly managed. There is little to no follow-up you have to call in checking up constantly. I told them I needed the car fixed by a certain date and they assured me it would be done the very same day. This was not the case all I got after that was excuses as to why it hadnt been started none of which had to do with my car. Everyday I drove past and my car had not moved from the original parking spot. Finally days after I needed the car they completed it. Upon picking it up there were wires hanging down that nobody addressed. They also broke a hubcap and told me they would find a replacement and get back to me. They never did. Dont bother giving them a chance go somewhere else. Youve been warned.

Thank god for Ammco! This is always my first choice whenever my car acts up, for some reason I tried other shops just to change up my normal routine and man other places turn thing slow into science projects. The staff here is very nice. Only thing I would change is if I could get a discount since I come to them only . But prices are definitely fair. Thank you again Ammco for letting me keep high expectations for you and you always meet them.

I have been without a car for approximately 5 weeks, as I was sold a faulty overpriced rebuilt transmission and Aamco had to order me another one. I do not get returned phone calls from the manager, Luke, after repeatedly asking for updates. I was told there are no car rentals available and they will not refund any of my rental car costs (yet I witnessed them provide a rental to another customer). I have filed a cooperate complaint, but still no replies to date.

Liars. Was told car needed 3500.00 worth of repairs. Was informed the transmission was already out, and disassembled, and had an internal problem I was also told..wait for it...the car will need a new computer!! Now the ecm computer has nothing to do with the trans. But it gets better..after being lied to on the phone by 2 different mechanics l was offered the fantastic deal of a junk yard trans for 2500.00 now mind you..thats about a 200 dollar item. getting back to the diagnosis that was a 216.00 test drive. When I pulled into the shop, the car had not been touched! So. ..they said it was taken apart, and was internally damaged with out even touching it. And when I asked to see the results of the diagnosis..I was told...it was gone wow. No mechanic here is ase certified. Shade tree at best ..avoid like the plague. If I could give negative stars. I would. AAMCO MEANS NOTHING ANYMORE! the kid down the street fixing his bicycle could do a better job.what a shame, used to be a trusted name.

When I brought my truck in, they were very helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable. They would tell me of any additional problems they found, and ask first before proceeding to fix something. I would totally recommend these guys for car repairs!!!!The best thing about this Aamco is that they do have payment plan option which is interest free .Store Manager Maddy helped with 4 different Banks to get me approve for whole repair and I didnt have to pay any single dim for repair. The 0 % interest rate financing for 1 year is best. they helped me a lot with financing and with repair.they are the best. New management is awesomee.

I will never go back. I went in for the special on the transmission fluid and of course they tell me my car needs $1400 in repairs. I say no but the owner tells me he can get the bill under $1k and that I will have a year to pay it off at 0% interest. I find out after the fact that I will have to pay a fiance company $3k unless I pay it off in 3 months. The guy is a crook. I called corporate and reported him to them. He was supposed to call me to tell me when I could come in and resolve the issue and he never called me - No big surprise. I paid the fiance company but now no family vacation for the Summer. FU AAMCO - NEVER AGAIN!

I highly recommend this place for any auto services. The manager (Maddy) was very helpful. I needed a front driveshaft in my 2006 Infiniti fixed. I explained to them how desperate my situation was and I only have one vehicle. They were very accommodating and understanding of my situation and went out of their way to fix my car right on time. Brought my car there gave me a price of $4000 so I said how am I going to pay that so then they drop the $2500 did not trust them afterwards kept trying too hard to keep me there really weird sense of mistrust I think they might have tampered with my trans to make it worse do not trust this place. If I could rate this lower, I would. Diagnosed with a transmission that needed to be replaced, and when I asked twice what exactly went wrong, the manager Mike could never give me an answer. After 3 weeks they said my truck was done and the reason it takes so long is because THEY DONT REBUILD THE TRANSMISSION THERE! They send it out to another shop. That makes sense.As I picked my truck up, it was extremely loud. I got under the truck and saw that they had cut my exhaust and used RTV silicone to put it back together. I asked the manager about it and he said he would look into it. No answer by the end of the next day other than they must have ran out of brazing rod, and decided to use silicone to hold my exhaust back in When asked why it was cut to begin with their response was thats how we do it, even though it can be unbolted I demanded it be replaced, and after talking to the district manager and pressuring them they decided to replace it. 5 DAYS LATER they call me and say my trucks all fixed. I inspect it and its brakes, not replaced and has multiple exhaust leaks. They refuse to fix it, and now Im in the process of contacting corporate and complain about the criminal activities going on here. I came in with a transmission problem, and now have exhaust problems because they cut my truck apart.

Awfil, bad choice to choose this shop. I never let them fix anything, as they tried to sell me a new transmission. Transmission is fine, was a bad front differential. Which I knew ahead of time. None the less, this shop not a shop for me.

Fantastic Experience! The person I dealt with was Maddy. Very professional, kept in constant contact with me regarding the repairs that were needed. I needed major work on my truck (trans, Radiator, Thermostat, Belt, etc) Maddy worked with me on the price and even though I didnt need it, Aamco does have interest free financing which is a huge plus! Hopefully Ill never have to have that much work done to a vehicle again, but if I do, I would certainly go back to this Aamco.

These people have no idea what they are doing and are also the definition of con artists. They are not truthful either. I had a vehicle that had to be brought there on 3 different occasions because they messed up badly the first time, I had to pay for a tow back to the shop the 2nd time and the 3rd time the truck only ran good for about a week before they same problems were happening again. This was all in a month span. Save yourself the headache!

They had my truck for 12 days to rebuild my transmission. After I picked it up, the o/d light came on and it said check transmission. Bring it back, 3 more days and supposedly a test drive(1/4 tank of gas missing) and I pick it up again, low and behold, 10 minutes into the drive, same lights. 15 days of rentals and counting and still not fixed. What a shame that a place that specializes in transmission repair cant fix a transmission. Im going to wind up taking them to court for all the rental time after the initial Trans rebuild as well as lost wages and hassle.*update - bring it back again, and....wait for it...they tell me that they cant find an issue and sometimes the transmission lights just go on after a rebuild and that as long as the engine light isnt on, Im fine... DONT EVER GO HERE! Go to meineke in Brick. Cheaper and they wont half ass your repair or lose your keys. Brought my truck there to follow up after these guys and they finished the job by clearing the computer for free.

Owner cusses customers out and refuses to refund their money.

Worst experience ever . Took my sons car there for a problem. 2001 Honda crv, 144000 miles. Told Me 109 for initial diagnostic. That showed nothing, then wanted another 650 to drop transmission and diagnose further. First price was $4000, I said no thanks. Then they said a lower price and then a lower price. I finally said, Ill just take car back. I was then told its another $500 dollars to put it back together. I settled on giving them$750 for original diagnostic and they give me $200 for car. Didnt know what else to do. So Im out $500 and a car. Do not go here.

Of all the places that Ive been to for car care, this has to be the worst one of all, from the guys who actually do the work on the car all the way up to district management.This is a really bad place to bring your car. Short story. Had the transmission replaced about 2 months ago. I had to bring it there 3 times since then for them to repair their screwups. First time to replace a transmission, the second time for them to reinstall the drive shaft that they installed incorrectly, third time for them to fix the shifter indicator. Its currently in the shop for them to fix the shift indicator again. The original problem is still not fixed even with the new transmission.

It is with much displeasure to give any business a 1 star review . However, Aamco in Toms River definitely earned it. I bought a Groupon for a transmission flush and they tried every runaround and excuse to not perform the service .They told me the transmission flush only covers 5 quarts of fluid and no filter .I spoke with both Steve and Allen prior to making an appointment, that I have a 2007 bmw 750li that is due for a complete flush and filter change and I bought the service on Groupon . The excuses came when I dropped my car off .I wasted my time and money showing up for them to tell me they would charge me for the filter and any fluid more than 5 quarts ..Aamco was very deceitful and dishonest with their Groupon deal and speaking to them over the phone ..I would never recommend them to anyone .

I love this Aamco, the guys were very nice and courteous. As soon as my son and I got there, they knew excactly the problem. The store managerMaddy was very nice and took care of us. Even though it took three days it was well worth it, the car runs great and it even has more pick up power. I will continue to take our cars there. Thanks guys. So Aamco in toms river is the place to have your car repaired, you be happy.

I just want to share my experience that I had with AAMCO. I called on Sunday in regards to having a leak of anti-freeze knowing that they were closed but I was looking to leave a message. But instead Kash the new owner had the business phone linked to his cell and he called me back. On a Sunday, wow I was surprised and he helped me with my issue and even had me drop off the truck that night so that he could have someone check out my vehicle first thing in the morning. Kash and his team are there for their customers. I have used AAMCO in the past under the old ownership, but I must say that the new owner is their for the people. This is the second time in the past two months I have used them for work on my car and I truly recommend them to others. They are very pleasant and friendly, they work with you and your needs and their prices were fair as well.

I am extremely pleased with the service. AAmco In Toms River has become my permanent mechanic shop. Keep up the impeccable work.

After I left my review this morning, I was contacted by maddy personally, and he was determined to change my views on the aamoco service I received . He assured me that he would do everything in his power to make me a satisfied customer. I must apologize, because I had no idea he wasnt in charge of this branch at the time I came there, but for him to reach out to fix the problems is highly respectable. With that being said, I will give them another shot, and commend maddy on the great customer service. Its not everyday you get somebody thats really concerned with the customers issues, and does his best to right the wrongs. Much appreciated.Update: we have come to a fair agreement. ATTENTION!! The manager here, Maddy took care of my vehicle . The only thing he was missing was a gun and ski mask... he’s a con man, liar!! He said he replaced parts on my truck that were never replaced!! DO NOT GO HERE!! He also screwed my neighbor over on 2 k, who told me a customer was complaining about work he did when he was there getting screwed hinsekf... this business has several unanswered complaints from the better business buero already ... maddy had fired the mecanic who misdiagnosed my car supposedly... put it this way, I brought my vehicle here for a noise, I left leaking oil, coolant and god knows what he did... I want my money back!!

The new management really takes pride in the work that they do. They made fixing my vehicle personal. I had a problem with the thermostat for the coolant system in my vehicle and had to bring it back two days later. They were very apologetic that I had to bring it back and took full responsibility for it. They took care of the problem with no extra charge and gave me an oil change free of charge (using full synthetic oil). Any future issues I have with my vehicle, I will gladly bring it back to them.
