We love our awning so much. The installation was quick, installers were very professional and did a wonderful job. We have used it a lot and received compliments on how lovely it looks and actually had the awning close one day by itself because of the wind sensor when the wind suddenly picked up. The entire process was easy and pleasant. The office personnel were helpful and ready to set up a sales appointment that was convenient to me. The install was fast and precise. My patio was left clean and I was instructed on the use of my new awning.Lastly, I was pleasantly surprised when the owner came to my house to check the install and make sure I was happy. When I was considering purchasing a remote controlled awning for our rear patio, I first did my due diligence. I requested proposals from four local awning companies. My first area of concern was the company references, the second area was the quality of material, the third area was the quality of service, the fourth area was the price. Shade One Awnings won the contest by far. The other three companies didnt come close on my first three categories. Shade One was slightly higher on the price, but I have always been a believer in the statement You Get What You Pay For. The delivery date was quoted as March 25, 2021, and the awning and installation team arrived exactly at the appointed time. After the completion of the installation I was given operating and maintenance instructions by the lead installer. The installers were very professional and courteous and did a great job. Great service at a great price. We love our awning. We got several estimates and Shade One Awnings was the best. We had a wide choice of colors and found one that really compliments our deck area. The house we moved into had an awning and a small patio, but we expanded our the patio so we decided to get a second awning and change the fabric on the existing one to match the new one.Shade one installers installed our new awning and moved the existing awning in one of the near 100 degree days, without complaining and did a perfect job.Our fabric was delayed due to the pandemic and arrived about 2 weeks later. Another team installed it, and again, they knew exactly what needed to be done and did another perfect job.Both teams arrived on time and were friendly and courteous.

The entire process of purchasing our awning was terrific. The sales rep, Cortney, explained everything about the process, the selection of the fabric, warrantees, dimensions that would be suitable, etc.. The installers were accommodating and did a neat job all the way around as well as showing how the awning actually worked. I followed up with a call as to how to install the cover for winterization. I came to find out that since I had a hood, the cover really wasn’t necessary. However, It was explained that I could cover the fabric with the cover to protect it from the elements. I was able to cover the fabric and secure the cover with bungee cords. I was pleasantly surprised to revive a follow-up call checking on how I made out with the cover and an offer of assistance if needed. I bought this awning/motor from these guys years ago It has been gone through hell, used over 10,000 times several times a day in the worst condition as possible and is absolutely strong to this day. I am very impressed with this awning that I bought years ago. I’ve never seen an awning last this long under this amount of beatings. Plus the guys that installed it still called me on a regular basis and ask if everything is going good and if I need any assistance to maintain its newness. We used Shade One Awnings in Toms River for our patio awning. Everything was great, from the visit from the salesperson, to measuring, to installation. We had follow up to winterize the awning and also to prepare for the new summer season. Our patio was unusable prior to having the awning installed. We were only able to use it after the sun went down. Now, we are out there all the time and it is really at least 20 degrees cooler!! It is like adding another room to our house! If you are in the market for an awning application this is your place. The owner is objective, doesnt try to oversell you and lives up to his committments (dates, times, customer satisfaction).

This was my first time purchasing any kind of awning and I knew very little about these products. I went with Sun Setter because I know they are a huge brand name from seeing them on TV for years. They sent out Shade One Awning as their local dealer on Route 9 in Toms River. I am in Monmouth County. The owner came out for the estimate and told me upfront it would be 2-3 weeks for delivery. The awning came on time and as a former contractor myself, the guys did an excellent job. The awning is lag bolted into the frame of the house and holds up well in the wind. We did require service shortly after using it and Shade One came right out with no fuss and no charge. Great company and product if you have a hot deck.

We used Shade One Awnings in Toms River for a custom motorized awning. It was installed late last summer over our second-level deck, and we are now enjoying the benefits. Our home is in Lavallette, close proximity to the bay and the ocean, and so it tends to get very windy at times. We were advised that a motion sensor could be installed, which prompts the awning to close automatically with heavy winds. We had Shade One Awnings install a custom NuImage Pro motorized awning over our large outdoor deck. Our yard has NO shade...and Shade One was able to install an awning that projects out more than 14 feet from the house, which now puts the majority of the deck in the shade. Tim and Don have been a pleasure to work with. The ordering and installation of the awning was very easy from my side of things. Even Vinny the electrician was a pleasure to deal with (we decided to hardwire the awning rather than using the standard plug-in due to limited outdoor electrical outlets. It also makes for a cleaner look in my opinion). We would highly recommend Shade One to anyone needing an awning!

I called around to get a repair on my patio canopy after I mistakenly left it up over the winter. The canopy had some tears in the seams and frame damage after a heavy snow fall but it didnt collapse. Shade One Awnings took the job and turned it around fast. The price was very reasonable and the awning looked nice and tight on the frame again. Then it snowed again in March three weeks after the repair. Amazingly, the owner Don called us to ask if the awning was ok. When it is finally time to replace, we will definitely be calling them back for one of the retractable models.

I had to get the awning approved by my HOA before they could put it up. Don handled the application and had the insurance info sent right over to their office. We still had to wait for the monthly meeting to get approved. That slowed the project but it was out of our control. Once approved, Don came back to put the awning up and it looks very nice. We get compliments from everyone that sees it. It is a SunSetter motorized model. Several of my neighbors have also used this company. This was a quick and easy home improvement with big results in the end. We feel like we gained a room.

We hired Shade One Awnings to install a Sunsetter retractable awning on our shore house. We are only there on the weekends and they accommodated us in every way. The awning was installed on a Saturday morning and we have been using it ever since. This is a professional awning company that communicated very well through email and by phone. They called us 15 minutes before arriving for both the sales call and installation and were on time for both appointments. It was nice to have reassurance that they were coming and we were not wasting a day at the shore waiting around. After Sandy we had many broken appointments and no-shows by salesman and contractors. My husband and I called shade one awnings based on the reviews posted to their website. Obviously the reviews were posted by friends and family members because our experience was nothing like the reviews posted. My husband called shade one and we met with Don who gave us an estimate and told us he would be out to measure that Friday. Not only did he not show up but he didnt call and did not return the messages we left him. Finally after more than 10 days of trying to reach him I called as a new customer and his associate Tim returned my call and actually came to the house to measure. Tim told us that after we had approval from our HOA that we could leave a deposit and he would order the awning. We submitted the request to our HOA and emailed a copy to Tim as instructed. After more than a week we called him who did not return our numerous messages. When he did call back he told us that he needed our HOA to email the approval. Our HOA said they didnt do that and that our providing the approval was sufficient. At this point we were so frustrated that I left a nasty message on their voicemail which Don used as an excuse to not want to do business with us which is pretty funny since I had no intention of doing business with them based on their unprofessionalism. Social media is a powerful tool and I do plan on using it. We did go with another company and are very happy.Dons recollection of the events are just like his reviews....fabricated!

I was referred to shade one by sunsetter awnings and I could not be happier. The salesman rich was punctual and not pushy. The price was much lower than our local awning shop, a lot lower. I was worried about our new siding but the installers did a great job. Clean work and courteous men. A small issue came up with the lights we ordered for it. It was no fault of theirs but they went out of their way to the hardware store to get the lights fixed and installed same day. Recommend shade one to anyone and love, love my sunsetter awning.

Great people to deal

The job was to install our Sunsetter back on the house after getting new siding. No other awning company would even hear my story after I told them we did not buy the awning from them. I bought the awning and installed it myself many years ago before Sunsetter had dealers. I called Sunsetter and they gave me Shade One Awnings out of Toms River. I am in Harvey Cedars on LBI. They gave me a price for the installation right over the phone and I quickly agreed. I was a little apprehensive about the install for a few reasons: the awning is pretty old already, the siding guys took it down in October and left it in a heap in the backyard and I did not want the new siding damaged. The awning guys have to install over the original asbestos shingles, covered now by pink board insulation and brand new, interlocking vinyl tiles over that. Not a DIY project. The awning guys showed up and installed it in two hours with no problems. It looks better now than it ever did before on the old, painted asbestos. The installation came with a printed warranty on the receipt from Shade One. This is my new go to company for any awning related job.
