I had a great experience. Anthony, took the time to help me find exactly what I needed. My son is into the current marvel movies. Anthony was able to point me to some great items. His comic book and and toy recommendations that I purchased were a tremendous hit this Christmas.My son has probably read the Avengers graphic novel 5 times already and it seems to inspired him to drawing his favorite heroes now.Thank you Anthony.My son and I will be seeing you soon.

Not the biggest comic book shop there is but still pretty good for a small town. The owner seems like a decent guy and is pretty entertaining. He is going to retire soon and seemed pretty happy about it! Hes going to hire someone to run his store for him while dividing his time between his house up in Maine during the summer and his house in Arizona during the winter (😂🤣)! His store has a decent collection of comic books, t-shirts, figurines, collectibles and merchandise, not the biggest selection but still pretty sizeable for a small business. I like the overall setup and displays! Good place for any fan of comics or memorabilia!

Cold winter night, wife picking up Mexican while we visited the in-laws. And there it was, a beacon of hope in the dark, frigid night. I ran in while the wife was occupied. The 2 barkeeps greeted me with inviting smiles under their masks. I had seconds to look. I glanced out the window and knew I had to go, but vowed to return!! I cant wait to see what adventures await when I return!

Been going there for years. The owner has always been great doing deals. Been buying figures and comics from him for years. Since moving to PA I have yet to find a comic shop as great as this one. I always make it a reason to stop in when I visit NJ. Cant wait to go back.

Just went to comic relief In the Toms River area and I must say it was a great experience. Friendly, knowledgeable, and very sociable staff. Was extremely kind and easy to talk too. The store itself in terms of organization was awesome. The merchandise, comics, were all in great condition and a large variety. I most certainly recommend this spot to any comic book fan, or anyone who is just starting to get into the hobby. 5 out of 5!

Owner was attentive, pointed me to everything I needed, and offered a discount on multiple items. Nice selection of new issues, books, and graphic novels. Back issues area is lacking and messy. If this area was better stocked and organized, it would be the only comic book store Id shop in. The store also offers a subscription service.

I have been going to Steves since I was a little boy. This place is awesome. They always have a knowledgable and attentive staff that is willing to help. If I had the money I would buy this place and start marketing to the younger crowd. This kind of print will never die because it appeals to the imagination and helps you grow as a person through the complex relationships of the characters and the overall knowledge of human nature through said characters. A great store with a helpful and friendly staff. They have a good selection of back issues, bargain comics and a nice wall display of key issues. By far this is the best place to shop for comics in the area.

One of the more organized comic book stores in the area. He is rarely out of new release comics. Great selection of graphic novels as well. There arent a crazy amount of back issues but there are some. And as far as pricing goes when I get back issues there almost always are they cheaper than the other comic book stores in the area and they are graded well.

By far one of the best comic book shops in the area. They have a great backstock, reasonable prices, knowledgeable staff, and an organized floor plan. I was able to find earlier isssues of DC Rebirth comics at cover price that would have been marked up at other stores. Highly recommended.

Smaller store, but friendly staff that don’t hover over you. Bought 4 trades from them and the guy gave me a little break on the price for buying that many. I feel they’re a little more knowledgeable than the people at the record store (other place I sometimes buy) probably because ALL they do is comics. I’ll def be shopping there again.

Go there if youre only looking for weekly releases. Their back issue bins are horrible! Way overpriced and whoever prices them according to grade is way off. You may get lucky and find something hidden that they didnt catch but thats rare. Most of their back issues should be in dollar bins. The owner is very rude and doesnt know jack about comics. Ive known plenty of people that have went in there to sell and got nothing but low offers on high end books. There is another employee there mostly on weekends who is a bit strange but could be of some help. I will say that within the past year or so they have gotten some nicer books on the wall behind the counter. They must have someone helping them because based off of past experiences the wall has really changed and books are graded and priced well not like the back issue bins. Overall avoid unless youre looking to buy weekly issues because its pretty hard for a shop to screw that up.

The balding guy that works there is prejudice as hell to be honest. The main owner with the black hair is better to work with cause he seems to have actual people skills but the other guy who looks like he has no social life whatsoever and lives under a bridge needs to be removed immediately. Horrible conversation skills and is a bigot with his side comments during my last interaction. I actually came here a few times and Made purchases in the hundreds including storage supplies (boxes, bags and boards) But after my last interaction with this idiot it took everything in me not to bust his f****** face in behind the counter. Large selection or books and other things but not worth my $$$ any more. RATHER deal with mycomicshop to get my selection and shop eBay to find rare variants.

The guy who runs the store is very rude and cant seem to be bothered to do his job. I was browsing and he asked me, Are you going to buy anything?. I couldnt believe my ears. I promptly left without purchasing anything. AVOID THIS STORE!!!!!

The posters obscure the view to the inside of the store so it tends to shy away customers. The store is relatively small but has a vast collection of comic books and merchandise to purchase at a good price point. Even high priced collectables are sold here. The owner is very kind and is easy to approach. On mondays all items are tax free.

Great store if they dont have it ask them to check their other store.if not there they will order it for you.

Pretty much only good for new comics. Some back issues in longboxes. A lot of back issues just loose on wire shelves and theyre in pretty rough shape.

Came here while on vacation in Seaside Heights, the guy working there was super friendly and very knowledgeable. They had everything we were looking for.

So this place was referred to by the guy that worked at the Close Encounters store. I thanked the guy that worked there and came here. After arriving here, I walk in and took a look around. There were boxes everywhere. The place was a mess. The comics were disorganized and the people working there were too busy to help a customer. I ask them about a specific Pacific Rim figure and the only answer I got was, Sorry, we dont carry those anymore. The movie is over and done with and nobody are going to buy them anymore. That to me sounds like that they are not up to date and not following trends that are still in. Just because one movie came and went does not mean that it will not sell anymore. What are you going to do if you have more people come in asking for the same thing? Just tell them that nobody wants those anymore? If so, good luck trying to bring back customers again.

Just called them. the person with whom i spoke was curt and bordering on rude. the employee couldnt get off the phone fast enough and hung up without answering my questions. the owner is a little better (politer) but not much.
