I have slightly different needs in a hearing aid as I am deaf in 1 ear, and have hearing loss in the other. This makes being able to focus in on 1 voice in a group conversation more difficult than if you can hear with both ears. Also I was an audiophile before my hearing loss, so I value a natural sound, not the distorted sound that most of the hearing aids provided. Chad @ American Hearing & Balance has been very patient and helpful in my journey so far to achieve this goal. Chad and I are still working on this, and I appreciate his attention to this problem.

I was a little nervous walking in as the place is nondescript and the waiting area smaller than I was expecting but I’m leaving very happy. Dr. CW is phenomenal. He was personable, thorough, an indisputable expert in his field and he gave ample time to answer my questions. In short, I was given the royal treatment. I only have two ears. I’ll be going to Dr. CW alone for them from now on.

Audiologist, Elyse Ewig is amazing! Ive worn an hearing aid since the age of 9. 39 years later and my have technology advanced. She fitted an aid in my ear which has profound hearing loss that works as a microphone and transfers sound to my left hearing aid. She explained it beforehand but I didnt get it until they were in my ears. She spoke to me on my right side and I was shocked! It keeps me from turning to my good ear when people are talking. Its so freaking awesome! It also minimizes the tinnitus. I cant thank her enough! Hands down one of the best (if not the best) Audiologist Ive ever had. I would encourage adults with hearing loss and parents of kids with hearing loss to visit her for an consultation. She really listens to determine the best result for you and you wont be disappointed! The ladies at the front desk are just as nice as she is. Great service all around!

I arrived at my appointment a couple of minutes early, yet only had to wait about 5 minutes to see Dr. Ewig. I a first time hearing aid user and first time customer of AH&B. Elyse was well prepared and easy to talk to. She explained to me how to use & care for my hearing aids, and explained the testing she did on me for adjustments. All very simply and clearly. I return on 11/28 for a followup, which gives me 2 weeks to try them out in every possible situation I can think of. (more on that after the 28th) I certainly recommend AH&B for their knowledgeable service and easy, relaxed appointment.

Sheila has helped and guided my father throughout this whole process. It was a great experience to see my father hear again! Thank you all so much. It was sincerely a pleasure being here and working with an amazing staff!

American hearing and balance is one of most friendliest offices I’ve been too.....of course I have no hearing loss however they helped me get my ears clean thanks to Dr.Michaels that was able to see me short notice on a Saturday morning !

I took my father-in-law Isidro Rosales to the Torrance office and thank God and all the staff who treated us very well and finally if they helped him after so much frustration from many years of being able to listen well he adapted the vocinitas of the 2 ears and you can already hear the normal. 11 years battling and did not give hope to remedy their problem but everything went well and we are very happy with all the attention they gave us.
