Theyre my go to local bike shop for everything. Always super knowledgeable. Keeping pretty stocked even in bike-demic times. Comp tune offered on their new purchases for a year is unbeatable.

Do not shop here the staff curse really bad. And have very bad attitudes

I was looking at the same model bike at three different shops but I bought mine from Towson Race Pace because of how I was treated by the staff. Everyone was nice, helpful, and knowledgeable. They didn’t treat me any differently because I was a woman and new to road biking, which I found wasn’t the same at other shops I went to. I also figured I’d be taking my bike back to whatever shop I bought it from for maintenance in the future, so why would I want to buy my bike from the other shops who didn’t treat me as well as Towson Race Pace? It was a no-brainer. The bottom line is that you can buy the same model bike from any shop and you’ll get the same thing. But each shop has different employees and therefore a different experience for the customer.

Hands down the best bike shop I have ever been to. They not only were extremely helpful and friendly they were even able to find a new axle for my 32-year-old bike and to my amazement they even had it in stock.

Amazing service! I went in with a flat tire and a spare inner tube I brought and they taught me how to change the inner tube for free! They are so kind and helpful. 5 stars. Ive been back and back and back.

I bought a bike from the this location in May and from the get-go we started having issues. After we ordered the bike we needed it customized however the sales person took notes but she never entered in the system and when we went to pick up the bike nothing had been ordered two weeks later. We took possession 4 weeks later. The first time we took the bike for a ride and the person riding fell and got hurt. We found out later that the stem of the bike had not been properly installed. This was sad because when you buy a bike they are supposed to do a safely check first. This was missed and all we got was an apology, nothing that they need to do to improve on their services. i am disappointed by the service we got.

I’ve been to numerous bike shops in Florida, Michigan, Virginia and Maryland. Hands down, Race Pace (Towson) is “the best of the best!”I came to the shop interested in a roof rack, and with the help of the Race Pace (Towson) shop team, I purchased a Seasucker, Mini-Bomber, 2-bike roof rack. I couldn’t be more pleased with my purchase! The shop team — especially Sue, Shawn and Sydney — couldn’t have been more helpful. Sue spent a good hour helping me research and compare the specs of different roof racks; she also arranged for the rack that I selected to be transferred from another Race Pace shop within 48 hours. Shawn spent as much, if not more time, installing the rack free of charge. He then very patiently walked me through how I’d take the rack off and, in the future, re-install it. And Sydney was of great help in upgrading some apparel and safety gear.I can’t speak highly enough of my experience with Race Pace (Towson). They now have a customer for life!

As we walked through the door we were greeted with a smile and friendly hello. Sue then asked how she could help and boy was she an expert. We were shopping for a beach cruiser for my wife so she showed us all options. They didnt have what we wanted in stock so she went to the computer right away and found us one at another location. She then helped us with accessories and was able to order everything in. Due to snow and ice the truck was behind but no problem as she notified us immediately. Once it was all in she called to let us know. Just a couple day turnaround which was great. When we went to pick up, Sue recognized us right away and got everything taken care of. This shop guided us through a tech refresh of all four of our bicycles in less than a year during a pandemic that has put extreme limitations on bike and component availability. Even though one new bike had to come from a competitor, they were instrumental in guiding us in securing that bike, arguably the last 44 cm size frame in North America. We can’t give enough praise to the Race Pace team at Towson, MD for getting us where we are today!

Race Pace is good! Ive rented two Santa Cruz MTBs (Hightower and Tallboy)and theyve set me up real good for riding! They definitely have the staff with technical knowledge. It seems like the more questions you ask em the more their eyes light up!!So get off your butt and and giveem a try. I dont think you can wrong. Even in times of Covid 19.

Traveled to Baltimore for work. Rented a mountain bike from Race Pace for the weekend. Staff was very helpful, friendly, and the bike was set up perfectly. Five stars for sure!

Definitely not consistent with the customer service. Just called and got the worst employee possible. All the answers were kept short and it was like pulling teeth to get a full sentence from this guy.Me: I was number 5 on the list for my Marlin calling to see my standings....employee: I have no idea and would have to go through the whole database to find that outMe: so how did they know I was number 5 when I ordered?Employee: we call people on a first come first serve basisMe: if that’s true why are you taking deposits and telling customers how many orders in front of them if it’s first come first serve?Employee: that’s just how we do it sirThis call is the reason I’m canceling my order and getting my deposit refunded.

Sue was the most helpful sales person Ive been able to find. She gave me lots of information, which I needed because Im new to bike riding. If you call the shop, ask for her personally, she goes above and beyond to provide a great customer experience.

An absolutely terrible experience in there on Sunday. One of the employees there said to me that they had plenty of business and didnt need mine. We live in very sick times.

I had an asthma attack and had trouble breathing and rather than assisting me or having any empathy I was told to leave the store by snippy unsympathetic kid . Thats how long time customers treated.

Great in-person service from Sue and Travis, who sized a bike for my son and did adjustments for his first big bike. The notification process wasnt that great. Put in an order on Wednesday, and was told it well call you when its ready, as early as Monday. Call Monday .... told Well call you when its ready probably Wednesday ... Call Thursday Its ready for pickup.

Went in last night to be fit for a road bike, and Sue was incredibly helpful. I asked a bunch of annoying questions for about 30 minutes and she was nothing but enthusiastic and helpful. Thank you!

These guys were AWESOME! First thing they did is ask us questions to figure out what we were looking for. They then showed us the bikes they has that would be a good fit, and unlike what some companys may do, they did not try to sell us the most expensive bikes they had. They helped size the bikes, and explained the logic of the sizing process. The were super knowledgeable with everything they were doing. After we got sized and got some loaner helmets we were able to take the bikes out to the lot to test. After testing the walked us through the different kinds of helmets, and helped us find the proper fit. They helped us get all the needed accessories, and even with getting more than we expected going in the price was entirely reasonable. After paying they helped us load in my hatchback, showing us how to properly remove and reinstall the front tires. and got us a piece of cardboard to put between the bikes in the car to prevent damage. Bottom line is these guys know what they are doing, and I would 100% recommend anyone thinking of buying a bike to give these guys your business, you will NOT be disappointed.

BEWARE, HEALTH RISK! When employees are preparing the store and building bikes during the hours when customers are not in the building THEY DO NOT WEAR MASKS OR SOCIAL DISTANCE. This occurs in the time where customers are not in the store which is Tuesdays or before 1:00 PM.

Back in mid-February, before everything closed down, I had the opportunity to try the maintenance side of Race Pace. I met Travis that day, and we talked about the various options for tuning my 2013 Litespeed L1 road bicycle. He was very knowledgeable and sincere about the maintenance approach that would be taken, as well as the turnaround of the work. When I came in to pick it up, it looked great; however, the first ride was even better! In fact, all the rides since then have been smooth. It felt like a brand new bicycle. With this in mind, I did not hesitate bringing my latest acquisition, a custom 2014 Surly Straggler gravel bicycle in to have it looked over and tuned. Cory took care of the work and even commented on how well maintained it had been from the previous owner. Additionally, he was very forthright and forthcoming in answering my additional questions concerning what to carry on the bicycle in terms of light repair, in case of a breakdown or flat, as this is my first gravel bicycle. I only wish I could have gone inside to put the repair kit together. If you are looking for a local bicycle shop that is passionate about not only new bicycles, but ALL bicycles, look into Race Pace of Towson, you wont be disappointed!

Terrible customer respect.Before entering, the guy with Tats said to me the cheapest bike is 1000K and the bike I was looking for started at 3000k.The too cool for school HS drop-out assumed I couldnt afford the bike before I entered.What a douche!

Had a great experience buying a bike here. Race Pace has a great selection, solid staff and good prices. Cory, who waited on us, was very helpful. He prepped and let me try out several bikes. When we choose a bike (Cannondale Quick), he took time to tune it up, help me select a seat and helmet. We were there past closing but we never felt rushed, or like that was an issue. We tried two other bike shops, which were good - however this was the best.

All of the Race Pace stores I’ve visited (Owings Mills, Columbia and Ellicott City) offered good customer service. This reps at this store took it to another level and really seemed like they were more interested in me and getting me on the right bike. They were patient and extremely helpful! This store is the furthest from where I live but it is worth the drive. I highly recommend this location to anyone in MD looking for a new bike!!!

Very pleased with my experience at Race Pace! Shawn transferred a Trek Emonda from the downtown store and the store contacted me within 2 business days to test ride. The shop has a nice little hill nearby, but offers to take home with a minimal deposit. I was hooked after 30 minutes of riding.After making the decision to purchase, the shop made the fitting experience as painless as possible. Overall, this shop carries a wide variety of bikes and quality gear. Employees are very friendly and knowledgeable, both for new and experienced riders.Highly recommend checking out all the stores inventory online. You can save some $$$ on a closeout bike and test ride at your closest store.

A very nice store with knowledgable and responsive staff. Being familiar with almost every bike shop in my area this one probably has the best selection with staff to support their business to scale. No criticism to offer at this time as my only complication in doing business with them was a miscommunication that was promptly handled. That being said, if you know what you want this is a great place to go for sales and their knowledge on the service side has been impressive!

Check em out! They assembled my Tallboy for me when I moved back from CO and did a great job. The price and time it took to finish was very reasonable. The store has a lot of quality gear and bikes. Staff was super chill and knowledgeable. I will be back!

They do great work here, friendly people, and they are both very knowledgeable and helpful when providing information. They only reason I gave them 4 stars instead of 5 is because of their bicycle part prices. I understand extra cost is incurred by stocking products, but their prices seemed pretty steep to me. A bottom bracket I had installed by them was twice the cost for the same product online ($25 vs $50), and a replacement chain was 3 times the cost for the exact same product online ($25 vs $75 in the store). Overall great place and very people!

I dont even know where to start, but let me start with customer service. These guys and gals know the true definition of what it means to take care of a customer. I have been going to the shop just after it opened in Towson. I had been to another location, and received excellent service as well. I am the owner of two mountain bikes. One that was purchased from Race Pace, and one that was built from frame up by them. My bike that was purchased stock, had an issue that was eventually covered by a warranty claim. These guys went the extra mile to diagnose the problem, to the point where I rode with a few of the mechanics on trail to determine the cause and issue. After every attempt to remedy the problem was unsuccessful, they filed a warranty claim with the manufacturer and I was given a new frame. Everything was handled so smoothly and I never had any doubt that the problem would be fixed. I was so impressed with their service and dedication to fixing my problem, that I had them do a frame-up custom build for my second bike. They are a great shop, they are never pushy, and they are great people to hang out and chat about bikes with. Highly recommend.

Just wanted to say how pleased we were with our experience at Race Pace. I am hardly an avid bicyclist, and was looking for a basic bike to ride on paved paths like the NCR Trail. The manager took the time to understand what I was looking for and offered suggestions. He made adjustments to the bike I eventually chose, and made sure it fit me. My wife only needed a helmet, but he was equally helpful fitting her with one. Sometimes you dont need help in a store, but in this case we both did. We really appreciated the individual attention, and did not feel rushed.

Ive been an avid cyclist for 25 years and this is the first bike shop where I have been treated with respect every time I go there, no matter what kind of bike I take in for service, and no matter what the issue is. Over the years I have come to expect disdain or disinterest from bike shop personnel, but at Race Pace Towson the mechanics make an effort to meet me on my level every time. Ill be a loyal customer as long as they keep providing that high level of customer service.

Race Pace is a really great store. I bought my bike there and I got many different accessories and one of the employees are very nice and helpful.

It seemed like a really nice store but my experience did not leave me feeling great. My husband and I came in because Ive recently lost 165 lbs. and I want to get into biking. I still have a little more to lose and my husband is a larger gentleman so we dont exactly look like bike enthusiasts. We walked around the store for about 10 minutes and not one person attempted to help us and there were free associates. In fact, some obvious bike enthusiast patrons dressed in biking gear and people who were just in way better shape came in after us and were warmly greeted and offered help where we were not. We left and needless to say we will not be coming back. Im sure its a great store for people who actually look the part I guess? Im still always quite shocked when Im confronted with this stigma in todays day and age. Its sad.

The Towson Race Pace was formerly the Ukazoo used bookstore. The bicycle shop has everything you need, though be mindful of the store price and the online price. There are plenty of bikes to choose from, and if your size isnt in stock, they will do a special order, though it may take a few days.The staff were genuinely helpful with the right amount of pushiness, and answered my barrage of questions.I took my Felt road bike in to be serviced, as it falls under the free one year of maintenance. I had a problem with a slipped chain and the service department was willing to install it for no extra cost given the circumstance.I think the bikes at Race Pace run on the high side, but its worth it for the service. The showroom is very enticing and they sell beginner bikes on the way up.

Part 2: I had to re-write my 5 star review because of how amazing this location really is. Once again went in today and was treated so kindly by Sean and the hardworking crew during this quarantine. They fixed my dual-sport, and ALWAYS go above and beyond to make sure EVERYTHING is perfect. Sean took care of my Bike as if he was taking care of his own, if not better. These guys are really the best. Can’t imagine buying a cycle anywhere else. I cannot say thank you enough.Part 1: Wow what a great expierence. I didnt even know this place existed until i was on the way to class and my bike broke. I brought it in here and Mike took a look at it. Not only was Mike the upmost knowledgeable, but was very friendly, nice, and patient with me. He stopped what he was doing right when i came in to look at my bike becuase i had class within the hour. Mike was able to fix my bike without even using a replacement part so that i could use it for now to get to class, AND ordered me a new part that they will put on later this week. Took maybe 5 minutes. It is rare you walk into somewhere youve never been, with people you dont know and get treated the way Mike treated me today. Just a great, smart guy. Made my day. Also while waiting i couldnt help but notice the clean, prestigious store. Theyve got everything in here, all of great quality. Will be returning and recommending anytime somebody says the word bike.

Great experience today at the best new bike shop in Towson! Immediately upon opening the door I found myself in a well laid out and asthetically pleasing facility. A place that knows bikes. As silly as that sounds.( I originally was going to go to REI.) I was greated by several employees who were not pushy and listened to what I was looking for in a new road bike. I spoke with the manager about possibly trading in my existing bike for store credit for one of their upgrades. He was honest and fair and helped me with any questions I had. Online shopping may be the trend these days but nothing beats great customer service and the product at your finger tips. After what I saw today Ill be heading back in the next week or so to purchase a new bike with a complimentary fitting. You take the bike because of a problem they repair it and then they come out for another problem They never leave it right for you, you have to invest more than 800
