Great store with great staff. You tell them which guitar you want to check out and they pull it down, set you up at an amp and leave you alone. They let me sit and play for almost an hour. I ended up buying a new guitar and amp. Ive also gone there in the past and told the employee I couldnt buy anything that day and they still just let you check out and play guitars.

This place is so awesome. It has all kinds of toys. I am so amazed at the number of musical gears they have here. It has to be at least 200 guitars hanging on the walls. By the way when I am here, I always hit the classical guitar room and try out just about all the guitars they have in this room. I just love this place. I am just like a big kid in the toy store! :)

Very professional people. From my experience, the repair shop was lightning quick. Also, I bought two guitars there last year and they helped bring both guitars to my car. Highly recommended.

Only been to this store twice and both times the service is very poor. The first time they had to check my ID twice before giving me the item I ordered. Not sure what the issue was. It took way longer than it should have. Today I came to pick up a $6 connector and the guy at the counter never acknowledged me to say he would be right with me. He finished helping the customer in front of me and just walked off. Didn’t say excuse me for a minute or anything. I was left standing there at the store pick up counter for 2-3 minutes until the guy came back. He then took my ID, found the item in the system and disappeared. He came back to the counter to get on the phone, but did not have the item. At no point was he courteous enough to say hold one second or it will be just one moment, he just has me standing there. He finally leaves again and brings the connector back. No “have a great day” or “thank you” or anything. This is just basic hospitality. I will try hard not to come back to this store.

Purchased loudspeakers. First ones werent right for me. Took back with my mixer for help. Josh in the speakers area took time, evaluated and tested my mixer, gave me a lesson in sound and helped me decide on what was right. I am a very happy customer. Gosh, nice job Josh!

What I love most is that the employees are not all up in your business like Ive seen at other stores. Here, if you know what youre looking for, you wont be bothered, but if you need help, theyll be right there ready to help. They didnt try to pressure me into getting something I didnt want or need. Overall I had a great customer service experience.

Can not say enough great things about DAVE IN THE AUDIO/DJ/EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO BE GREAT section!! The man has skills and knowledge that was extremely impressive!! my home was Broke into less then 2 weeks from a huge DJ job. He made me feel at easy and well versed in the equipment quality and application for my needs. He helped me understand a few things that after 30 years of DJing I had no idea about😲🎤🎛️🎚️. I was trying to find a digital Thurman they didnt have one. I was hoping that they would have that but I did pick up a digital interface and enjoyed beating on the drums cuz thats my main instrument. They have a great selection of guitars as a drummer Im not too into electric kits but I need one for the some recording. And their selection was fairly limited and expensive. No it is guitar Center not drum Center and I play guitar as well the custom room had some nice pics. All in all the experience was neither here nor there true go we.

My fiance got a beautiful new guitar. Its a D Angelico with a mahogany finish. The guy who helped us really went out of his way to make sure we had everything. He was very new, but I know he will do well there! Thank you Chris!

The staff here are incredibly nice, knowledgeable, and very helpful. I have been shopping at guitar center for years and generally always had good experiences. This particular location, staff are really out of the way accommodating. Would definitely recommend purchasing your instrument or your lessons here. I play multiple instruments, and recently bought a drum set and a guitar from this store. They were very helpful in helping me make just the right selection, and scheduling me for guitar lessons for the person who really suited me individually.

Poor customers service. This is the third time that I have been there trying to purchase something and asked for help, they always says we going to get you someone to help you, I waited 15 minutes no body show up for the third visit same thing happened again and again. I go there because they have a good tools. Its sad.

I went there last night 5/5/2021 around 5:15 pm to see if my sons guitar that was under warranty could be repaired. Eric was such a big help. The warranty company could not find us in their system and he worked with them to get us taken care of. We ended up getting back the money we paid for the guitar and my son was able to pick a new one with suggestions from Eric.

REVISED REVIEW. The store and service rep at Guitar Center was great, but the delivery service of the piano was heinous! They used a middleman company called ABF freight and was about to leave the piano ON THE SIDEWALK ON A RAINY DAY. However, I was extremely lucky that the driver (Danilo Barrientos) helped me figure out some way to get the piano to the door! Thank goodness for Boris Trucking here at Maryland.I went in to look at digital micro grand pianos and the service was great. The person who helped us, David, was knowledgeable, courteous and helpful. I asked him the difference between a Williams, Suzuki and Korg. He gave great recommendations that informed our purchase and made it worthwhile going in store vs online.

Will never do business here again. Employees will abandon you after ringing you up, on average it takes an hour to get in and out even for simple items. I was left at the register for 30 minutes while the other employees played on their phones and ignored me

The Guitar Center in Towson, Baltimore gave me the best customer service Ive had in my entire life. About 9 months ago, I bought a guitar from this location as a new player. I noticed that it sounded a little different from the other guitars I was used, and assumed it needed a string change. Due to the Coronavirus, I never had the chance to go in and get them changed until about 2 months ago. I went in solely for that purpose, and was told to come back after an hour to pick up the guitar. Instead, I got a call back from the repair technician (John Derry) explaining that the bottom two strings of my Fender Strat were somewhat muted, along with several other minor issues he noticed. His analysis was that there was some issues that were only possible due to manufacturing. As a new player, I never would have noticed the issues if he hadnt pointed them out. He could have gave the guitar back to me broken and I would have assumed it was just my poor playing muting the strings. But he helped me for several weeks through texts and calls, and helped me file a claim with Asurion Insurance. When Asurion had me mail the guitar to a Fender Certified repair location, John took it upon himself to securely bubble wrap, box, and add a note explaining all of the issues my guitar had before *personally driving it to my own house.* I shipped it to the location, and after a long month of waiting, John asking for updates the whole time, the guitar was finally returned from the repair place! John had me bring it into his office at Guitar Center to play and make sure it was all good before letting me leave.Additionally, the string change from 2 months prior was $20. John personally payed for it out of his own pocket and didnt even mention it to me until my guitar was completely repaired and tested by him.Since I was 16 when the entire situation started, John made sure no conversations were had between us without my dad there. The entire time John made sure my guitar was the best it could be and didnt keep me out of the loop, just change the strings, or even just give the guitar back after the initial string change. He went completely out of his way to make sure I had the best possible experience when it came to my instrument and gave me the best customer service I could have ever asked for.

This store is pretty huge. Its kind of like going to a Disney Land for all kinds of musical instruments and equipment.I feel like a kid every time I drop by. This is probably geared more towards electric guitarists who play rock and thats fine.Personally, I enjoy the acoustic guitar section. They have a decent selection of steel string acoustics. I only wish that they had more of a classical/flamenco section.Its a good music store in general. It probably suits most guitarists.

Stopped here today just to pick up a hat and everyone was very nice. Eric helped me find what I needed. Great store and terrific staff.

Great help when purchasing.Needed to return an item; provided a check again not the issue.... when taken to their bank(wachovia) they could only deposit the cbeck...didnt have an account so had to drive place to place (over an hour) looking for a place to cash a handwritten personal check. Not the best experience.... but other than returns great service

After dropping in a music center very close to my home to get my child’s bass guitar fixed. I thought Guitar Center sounds all things guitar. 🎸 It was about a half hour drive to get there from where I live however, we were pleasantly surprised once we got there! So many guitars, accessories, as well as other musical instruments. They also sell really cool and unique gifts for the musicians and music lovers in your life (I had to refrain from buying myself stuff 😂)Peter Shumway is the repair technician, he new his stuff and he was super nice. The guitar we brought in had an easy fix so instead of keeping my daughter’s guitar and fixing it and make us have to drive all the way back over to pick it back up. He took a few minutes and fixed it right away! We couldn’t have been happier!I highly recommend Guitar Center! Everyone that we talked to in the store was nice and pleasant!GUITAR CENTER ROCKS! We’ll definitely be back!

My husband went to sell one of his Bass Guitars and an amp, he was guoted$ 696.00 for both, when the clerk called the Manager to write a check because they cant pay in cash over $400.00, on line its $500.00??? Anyway theManager came and said the amount guoted was wrong.....lol. Although my husband bought the Guitar New at this location for $799.99 before taxes, the Manager said they sell for about $547.00 New,..... the resale price he was offered??? The Amp is another story, quoted $149.00......total for both $696.00 my husband then tried with the Clerk to Negotiate to round it off to$700.00 even.... $4.00 more, the Clerk said he would ask the the Manager when he came to write the check.Well not only did the Manager NOTround up $4.00, BUT he whisper conferenced with the Clerk and then told my husband that the offer is now$423.00,..... $273.00 less....saying the Clerk made a mistake, my husbandtrying to understand that mistakes can be made and then asked the Managerto make it $500.00 even, but the Manager said he couldnt do that....My husband took his equipment and left for home feeling like he wasnt going to give them away so cheaply, he felt he had been BAITED & SWITCHEDNeedless to say:Our Music store of choice is NO longer Guitar Center !!! (They just lost a Cash customer)

Picked up my merchandise on my way to work, got home later that evening and started to open it up and noticed that it had been used. The protection cover was torn off and put back in the box, the owners manual was not in its plastic bag, it was thrown back in the box, and the power cord was also not rapped up and it was thrown back in the box. My merchandise had finger prints all over it, so that tells me that it was used at the store, and Im very disappointed and will be taking it back for one that has not been opened. I will definitely check it out before I leave the store.

This was my first time here. I was purchasing a birthday gift with two ideas in mind. I forgot the guy who helped me but he was awesome. Everyone who worked there made sure I was being helped. After my purchase, the kind gentleman brought the keyboard to my car and loaded it in for me. Will be returning. Thanks guys!

Ok well the store was clean but while they observed social distance practicing you gotta wait for the sales associate to get done showing off how great at playing before you can try out an instrument.Then while checking out they had one person actually working while the rest were huddled together talking about weekend plans I guess .I am a FORMER garage band alumni that has played a long time before getting my masters in raising children . I remember the way back when guitar center was good ( or was it ever ), its not now . Seemed priced more then online retail, while I know you want to test drive a 1k$ guitar rather then buy blind and cross your fingers but I really thought the basics would be better priced.Not the same I could have stayed home and saved 5% with my Amazon card.

I love the guitar center, we frequently go there to see what they have. Took my husband there to sell his guitar bad move, only got $30 for a guitar he barely used. I urged him to sell it on line but he wanted to get rid of it.

I visited this location prepared to purchase a $17-2500 guitar...And I did not!! After watching young kids come into the guitar room and bang on the guitars and twirl them over their heads like toys. On my way out I watched them beat on other equipment...sales peeps did nothing. Also there were several nice guitars with busted strings...Obviously from abuse And misuse. If you want quality, I would definitely recommend not to buy from here.

Brought my daughter here to get her first electric guitar. She was nervous about trying them then even through I explained thats how its done. The staff came over, tuned one she was looking at and plugged it in the amp for her. They did a great job making her feel comfortable and helped her find a great beginner guitar and all the accessories.

Sigh. Well apparently guitar center isnt anywhere near what it used to be, lots of technical issues, inability to try out amps, and a lot of corporate responses. Very soulless, feels like Walmart, which is a bummer considering how much I used to spend in this store.that being said, I was certainly frustrated to the point of walking out until a very very awesome sales guy named Ashley came through and helped me come up with a good setup to get me going again. If you decide to brave that place, search for the long-haired rocker guy Ashley hes on point.

Just posted this on Yelp and thought I would add it here: My experience has been the opposite of what Ive read in the negative reviews on here. Yes, sometimes you have to wait for a staff person to finish with another customer, but you cant expect them to pay 100 staff people to just be standing around. Each department does have someone who is an expert in that field. And we all know that people only tend to post a review when theyve had an unhappy experience. Anyway, I have been going there for 15 years - made many trips and spent thousands of dollars in big and little purchases. I have always found the staff to be knowledgeable, helpful, and never in a rush. I am a classically trained church musician who also works with praise bands at the church. So going into a store that is geared to rock music is a little out of my area, and I am not savvy at all about what to buy, especially the more technical aspects of things. So the thing I really appreciate about this store is that they have never been condescending to this novice old man. I think they are enthusiastic about music and about helping others make music in any and every way.

2 stars because at least they have strings and picks that I can buy and use.I dont know where to start, popped in for about 10 mins the other day and was floored at how guitars were being treated/stored. To start off the high end room had multiple guitars with fret sprout, that was the first sign that guitars were not being taken care of. To top that off, a few guitars in the normal section were missing strings or flat out unplayable due to lack of setup/action being too high.I suggest you really sit down and inspect any guitar considered buying at this location. The fact that BOTH 2400$ Jimi Page Teles had fret sprout in a climate controlled room is really telling at how guitars are being treated here. buyer beware.

Went in to buy a 3/4 guitar that I had my eye on, for my 7 year old daughter. When I finally hounded down an employee, he told me I didnt want that, and I instead wanted a full size guitar that they happened to have on sale. He was helping other folks for about 30 minutes, when the door guy comes up to me and tells me my guitar is at the register, and they had a line of people waiting outside to get in. I was still waiting to go in the acoustic room and talk to the employee as our initial talk was a quick passing by kind of thing.All of this while other employees walked by me probably 15 times averting there gazes. I dont usually post bad reviews, but it made me feel like a villain, or like I didnt belong.

Got my first B.C Warlock from here when I was a kid, and countless other used and new guitars. Since they remodeled a little its been a bit of a cluster and I hate that its not like the old days where one can pick up any guitar and play it but I guess we cant have nice things anymore in this country. Point being, theyve been 9 out of 10 times extremely helpful and knowledgeable, theyre variety and stock could use some spicing up but other than that I have no reason to believe theyre not a five star store.

Its a nice store but the problem is that as a person who wants to play banjo, its very lacking on that aspect.

THEY SOLD ME A FAKE BASS GUITARI ordered a bass online had it shipped to me from this store. It was used and then put the serial number into Fenders database and did not register. Showed it to others and it is a fake. BUYER BEWARE!!! THEY SELL KNOCK OFFS HERE as the real thing.In response to the response. I emailed you guys a few nights ago and have yet to receive a response. I will email again.

The stores at Glen Burnie and Towson are only ok. Glen Burnie store doesnt give enough customer support and the Towson store gives less. Both stores keep the better guitars out of reach up top, as if they think you cant afford them so dont touch. Cold.

I bought a guitar from them online only to receive an email the next day that my order had been cancelled without any information as to why. I spent at least half an hour on the phone with the store to finally find out that they had no idea where the guitar went. The person I spoke to told me he would search for it again and get back to me, and its been at least a week. No response. Not sure how you lose a guitar, but I dont trust buying anything from this place anymore.

Buying strings? Fine. Buying a guitar? Dont even think it. The condition of the acoustic guitars on display was frightening. It was a plethora of dirty strings & out-of-tune guitars the high-end of which are locked to the wall.They dont have many salespeople and those they have dont have much guitar knowledge at all. When I asked about the condition of the guitars one salesperson told me that they only have one tech and all his time is spent elsewhere.There is no way to tell what a guitar is really going to sound like or what its true potential is if it has been neglected in the way these guitars have.I am going to buy a guitar from Ryan Fowlers Guitar Experience, right down the road. Literally every guitar there sounded better than every guitar at Guitar Center. Why?Because they care about making their instruments the best they can be before you ever even pick it up.Because the people there are helpful and knowledgeable and dont have to run and pick up the phone every minute.Because they have an awesome selection in-stock.Because they have a special relationship with Taylor and are an authorized Taylor tech center.Because in todays America I dont want my money going to a huge chain store, I want it going to a real, live local businessperson.

Theres a large selection here, and I love that almost everything is available to pick up and play at will. It can be hard to find an employee available to help when you need it, and they always hard sell the extended warranties. Overall, the best local option when you need to walk in and walk out with an instrument.

We come here with our Autistic son to let him try out different instruments. He is non-verbal, so if he’s interested in something, he can’t just tell us. We appreciate the selection and the ability to try them out before we purchase anything. The salesman was friendly and professional, and didn’t try to pressure us into making a bunch of additional purchases. My only complaint is the prices are sometimes a bit on the high side, but in general, a good place to start if you’re new to any instrument.
