Great experience. The gentleman at the front wasnt very welcoming but the exhibit was well done and offered a vibrant and rich history of Trinidad. We really enjoyed our visit. 5 stars!

An interesting experience. It would be even better once they are finished restoring it but the parts that are finished provide a unique view of the life of wealthy citizens of Trinidad many years ago.

The 2 exhibits they had were ok... its 5 bucks to get in... but a big disappointment as on the website they advertise a block worth of musuem with 4 buildings and beautifully manicured property. We called prior to and the day of visiting asking about exhibits and nothing is mentioned about buildings being closed when asking about exhibits. We travel from Texas to visit... to be told when we get there all we get to view is one 40 foot long hall of pictures and basic artifacts. We were aloud to walk to grounds which I did have to ask to not so friendly staff person if we could do so. Very disappointing. The property was not well kept at all. I dont expect blooming flowers and green grass this time if year but a little upkeep would be nice.

Missed the hourly tour of the Bacca house but enjoyed the other areas of the grounds, museum and peeking thru the windows. Great memorial to a woman soldier in the garden.

Very well documented story about the growth of Trinidad and the Colorado portion of the Santa Fe Trail. Talks about the Trinidad community people active in the growth and the commerce of the time.

Good museum and bookstore. The historic homes are closed at the moment. Unfortunately, the young guy in the office was uninformative, not hospitable, and appeared annoyed we were even there.

We really enjoy learning about local history and what made a place happen. Its small, but really informative. Knocking off a star because it was really warm in the main exhibit area.Really cool jewelry and crafts from area/regional artists in the gift shop.

My son and I really like to go here and look around. Every time we go we find something we hadnt seen the time before. The town of Trinidad is so rich with history and its amazing to learn about and be a part of. We especially enjoy visiting the Bloom Mansion. You feel as if youve been taken back in time. The tour is self guided so you get to spend as much time as youd like wandering around and getting lost in the charm of the building. The museum staff are very nice and welcome any questions you might have. This is one of my favorite destinations in Trinidad and I will definitely be a regular visitor.

Because our tour group did not show up on the date the staff thought we were supposed to show up--not sure whose fault, ahem--we came on our own the next day and were treated poorly by the Male attendant. He would not allow small groups of us to see the Baca House because of his poor attitude. This happened today, Oct. 5. Again, it is not clear whose fault this was. A damper on an otherwise lovely visit to Trinidad.

Loved our visit to tiny Trinidad, including this museum. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. The area is rich in turn of the century mining history and this collection of pre-Santa Fe railroad artifacts is impressive! You may need to park on the street. Expect to spend around 2 to 3 hours here, there are 3 buildings to visit. Would love to take friends here, I would go again!

Trinidad has a rich and interesting history of bootleggers and outlaws. This museum covers the history from the 1800s to the 1930s. A ticket also admits you to Bloom house, a historical mansion built by the Bloom family. In addition to interesting period architectural features, the house contains multiple vintage photos and personal effects.

Great place to learn about early history of this area and the Santa Fe trail. Museum was free donation accepted of course. The tour of the early wealthy pioneers homes was $500 and well worth it for any history buff. All in all a great experience.

A nice little museum and tour of the Baca house as I remember. Trinidad is a quaint Co. town. Be prepared to see pot stores with advertising similar to liquor stores or beer distributors though downtown though.

Great museum. They have Kit Carsons Coat. We got to tour two homes showing how 2 different nationalities lived. One raised sheep, one raised cattle (before fences to keep the animals on their own land)

Kind of a let down because there wasnt much town history, but rather history Id the areas settlement and initial function. Reasonably priced and you do get to go inside a very old (and quite likely haunted)house to kinda just wander around in it unsupervised looking around.
