Jerry is absolutely the best! Last Friday 8/31 he was able to squeeze in a last minute oil change that I needed before the weekend. He provided prompt and thorough service in which he not only changed the oil in my vehicle, but also took the extra time to notice (and bring to my attention) that I should probably replace the front brakes on my vehicle as well. Ive had some parts in my car, that needed to go on my car, but couldnt find the time or space; I live in a motorhome and have two jobs, in Truckee. I called Jerry yesterday, and he was able to fit me in this morning.He confirmed that many other things need to be fixed, and will be fine with doing it a bit at a time.I look forward to doing business at Truckee Automotive, and getting my vehicle in good shape.

Jerry was honest and efficient when my Jeep broke down after camping in the area. I had it towed to him after talking w a friend who is a local real estate agent and knows Everyone. Truckee Automotive is a trusted business and we all know how sometimes things dont go well with mechanics! Not these guys. Great customer service, no BS.

Got my truck in in a pinch, got the work done in a timely manner and at a fair price. Only part I wasnt too happy with was after I picked up my truck noticed someone decided to go through my stuff in my glove box and holder attached to my sun visor. I already know not to leave valuables in a vehicle while at a shop. Didnt notice anything missing, if their is is nothing important. Just bummed to have it happen at a shop I trust. Not sure if Ill be getting work done here in the future........

If you have something go wrong with your car, go somewhere else. Bottom line, it wouldve been much cheaper and quicker to get it towed to Reno. My car broke down driving over the Sierras and this shop was the closest one and said I could get it towed in. It was Friday and they said they could look at it on Monday. By Wednesday they figured out they needed to remove the transmission to figure out exactly what happened.After 2 weeks they finally determine the cause (broken flex plate). Jerry, the owner, promises to call back with great regularity. It never happens. He promises progress that day or the next. It never happens. Hes quick to apologize, and promises results when I say I need to get this car fixed because rentals arent cheap and I need a car to get to work. But nothing changes, and I have to call every few days just to hear more promises.It eventually takes one day short of 4 weeks to get a new flex plate in and back together. Jerry calls, tells me it is all done and gives me the total. I go in the next day to pick it up and he tries to add over $50 to the total. We compromise on the price and when we go to the car he shows me that the latch to the tailgate is now broken and they had to use a rope to tie it shut. Never had a problem with it before, but suddenly its broken. Odd he didnt mention that before I paid. He said they lubed the latch and tried working it, but couldnt get it to work.I get the car on the road and as soon as I get it on the highway it is shaking like its about to fall apart. I limp it back to the shop via side streets after getting off the highway. Several hours later and they figure out they didnt quite put it back together right. Thankfully I took another day off work and got there early, because you can be sure if it was after 5 oclock Id be stuck without a car for the weekend, despite promises it was done.I spent 3 hours replacing the latch on the tailgate and have offered to split the cost of the part with them since it was old and not pay for my time, since Im sure it would only take a mechanic an hour or so. Every time I talk to him he says he has to think about it and says he will call back by noon the next day. Each time hes had at least a week to respond, but he doesnt. Now he seems to be ducking my calls and I think Ill have to go through the Bureau of Automotive Repair to try to get some money back.Maybe if youre local hell try to do well and make sure youre all fixed up in a timely manner. If not, just pay the extra tow charge. There are some pretty good shops in Reno.

I was on my way home from California to Idaho when my truck overheated while towing my travel trailer. They changed the fan clutch as that was the suspected culprit. $333.00 later I hooked up the trailer and it heated up before I got to highway 80. So I called him and he said they couldn’t mimic the symptoms. After I got home I requested an email of the receipt but he never sent it so I could take the fan clutch back to oreillys.
