Darling independent book store, with lots of well chosen selections. Distinctive collection of journals and quality colored pencils and markers. Unique games and puzzles! Tea! Greeting cards! Lovely stylish and high quality reading glasses. Huge children’s book section in the back room. Downstairs area has vinyl records and bargain books. Staff is delightful. I loved being in this store! This bookstore and vintage record store is chock full of innovative gift ideas. It has a record player right as you walk in the door and a vintage phone booth! Great for educating kids about yesteryear! What a fantastic glimpse into old times. The book selection was outstanding snd the organization made it easy to find what might suit your needs.

This is a great independent bookstore. The staff that works here truly love books and can give you their own personalized recommendations if you talk to them.The staff picks that are on the shelves are almost all great selections its really hard to go wrong with this store

An awesome book store, which now has a record store with a great selection of wax. They also sell record players. Go there and make your Tahoe cookout even better with some old school sounds.

Great book store! Staff was very helpful and even though they were busy, they took time to search the back for a book my son has been trying to find. He was so excited they found it, especially after not seeing it on the shelves!

Quaint bookstore.

Nicely arranged. Staff is friendly and helpful. Many interesting books, cards and other items. Very clean and well organized. I found a deck of cards near the checkout desk that has a different constitution on each card. Learn while you play. :)

Great store with a lots of books but I could not find a single book I was looking for. I would love to see some faith based books for adults & kids. I can’t resist spending money on books because our whole family enjoys them so much but we could not find much of what we normally buy. There were lots of books for kids about current topics & diversity but not a diverse selection of topics. Regardless, it was wonderful to visit a place with so many books. Staff were wonderful too.

Incredibly unfriendly staff, bordering on hostile. Intolerant and authoritarian. I make it a point to visit every independent bookstore that I can throughout the state and this is by far the worst I have ever been to.

The best curated selection of books. Friendly and knowledgeable staff and well merchandised. Its easy to find excellent reads without having to hunt or feel overwhelmed. Gorgeous location...my favorite local bookstore!!

Great book store.

Very cozy and friendly local bookstore. They have a decent selection and an entire room dedicated to childrens books and toys. There is a really cool downstairs reading area but it doesnt appear to be open during Covid, sadly.

Weekday shopping. Really nice staff. They had exactly the book I was looking for and suggested another novel that I can’t wait to start.

Great current and classic collection of books!! Staff is knowledgeable and wonderful at recommendations of not only books, but other businesses in the area. If you’re in or around Truckee, you should absolutely visit this place.

Incredible selection in a great space with an awesome staff.

This is a very thoughtful and approachable bookstore. I noticed that most of the books that were turned out on the shelves (with the cover facing) were books that I had read and enjoyed. A very delightful young lady walked me through the shelves and made several recommendations. I have thoroughly enjoyed the first book I bought there and look forward to the second.

Staff was nice over the phone. I called about a book I wanted to use as a local wildflower hiking guide, so they held the book for me overnight until I was able to pick it up while in Truckee. Although the staff and owner (?) were friendly that day I picked it up, they seemed fake friendly. I don’t like fake people, so that’s why you get three stars. I felt like they didn’t want me in the store, so I felt obligated to purchase more stuff other than the one book. I ended up buying three books and spending over $50. I was not too happy about that.

Fantastic selection of books, with a great ambiance.A large portion of the store is dedicated to children/teen literature, with very little sci-fi/fantasy.The workers were nice and informative as well.

Wonderful local bookshop with great selections of childrens books, local history and outdoor sports. A favorite of our family.
