Interpersonal score 2 out of 10. NO real eye contact. I couldnt even create a conversation. I must have been invisible. Seemed the eye exam was a setup for more services.

Outstanding doctor, staff is highly trained and more competent than any other I have experienced and the onsite optician is definitely more interested in meeting your personal needs than selling you overpriced designer frames. Highly recommend!

I am very particular with my eyesight and choosey about who I go to for vision care. I had laser surgery in the past from a renowned teaching hospital and I loved it for many years (I have since moved and it is not convenient). Age and time caught up with me and it was time to visit an eye doctor. During my research of eye doctors in the Reno area I came upon Dr. Camp in Truckee. I called. Kim was able to schedule me a very convenient appointment (a very quick 30-minute drive from Reno) and I went.I could not have been happier with the care that I received from Dr. Camp and his staff. He determined that I needed cataract surgery in both eyes. He went above and beyond to research the very best option for my lenses. He even contacted the rep to see if I was a candidate for brand new lenses that was not yet widely available. I was, and I am surprised at the clarity and colors I can now see.Dr. Camp was terrific at explaining everything to me before, during, and provided excellent aftercare. It is apparent that he truly cares about his patients and his primary role as a caregiver, not just making money. His unique, and “dry” sense of humor was also refreshing.I give Dr. Camp, Kim, and the rest of the staff a perfect 10” and my highest recommendation possible.

Dr. Camp and staff are awesome! After my eye examination, Dr. Camp answered all of my questions and concerns regarding an eye procedure. He is a very experienced ophthalmologist and surgeon and I have the utmost confidence and faith in his abilities to successfully perform the eye procedure. Additionally, it helps to be prepared with questions prior to an office appointment with Dr. Camp to fully understand the scope and range of eye problem and issues and possible solutions Dr. Camp has to offer.

I had a great experience with Dr. Camp here in Truckee. Im just up for a vacation but had a little concern about some eye irritation and his staff was amazing. They fit me into his schedule, and he was excellent.Being from out of town I was a little concerned trying to find an ophthalmologist in Truckee that I did not know. As a surgeon myself I can be tough on all but the best doctors and I really felt he was very thorough, very knowledgable, and a pleasure to work with.

Aside from seemingly discontented and not very personable interaction from this doctor, I also expressed that Ive have uncomfortably dry/irritated eyes for years and have been using artificial tears, which also do not seem to help. He took my $100 copay, and told me to get artificial tears. Thanks a lot! Biggest waste of time and money. I learned more about how to care for my eyes on youtube.com via eyelid massage, etc.He also did a CO2 laser treatment on me years ago. It was horrifying with zero benefit; more so skin-damaging in the long term. I do not recommend. The 1-star is for the very helpful and kind nurse that I saw prior to Dr. Camp.

Just want to say that a lot of the reviews are not related to Dr. Camps’ service, but that of previous (now gone) eyeglass specialists. One has nothing to do with the other. He is a great doctor.

Go here, it is full of charming helpful ladies & a terrfic doctor. After being treated by them I have 20/15 vision. That is better than 20/20.They have a huge selection of frames to choose from. After 60 yrs. of wearing glasses& going to eye Dr.s this is the best establishment i have been to. Go here with complete confidence. They will take good care of you.

I’ve been going to eye doctors my whole life like many of you I’m sure... and this place is terrible, worst eye doctor I’ve ever been too.!!!After this last apt. I will never go back. Appon arrival and sign in to my second apt, no further information was taken on me.I had to ask to fill out paper work once i was in the exam chair as I knew my number, address and insurance had changed and wasn’t sure what I was getting done that day, as nobody talked to me to inform me of anything happening that day just a chaotic mess.I then had to figure out what exactly i was getting and paying for that day and after getting the information correct in the exam chair it was nothing major, I just needed a exam and images for new contacts prescription. I’ll pay out of pocket and save money for stuff like this no problem, but you better give me at least a glimpse that you care about my eye health and know what’s going on!Dr Camp comes in and im guessing because I’m 30yrs old and had to ask about cost and what I was getting done that day, I’m not sure what his angle was but he then assumes I’m not working because I’m at a 10am apt on a Tuesday so I get to hear about how he works so hard, so busy non stop and isn’t staying home surfing the web all day like us young generation. It was one of those moments where I couldn’t exactly figure out why he was being so rude and sarcastic, but I was at a loss for words, he doesn’t introduce himself or acknowledge you when he comes in the room.Again he knows absolutely nothing about me, I just started my own business and have never been working so hard to get ahead in my life so for me to hear all this was very comical and hard not to erupt on him specially coming from a man who seems half asleep and can’t even hold a conversation with me.Mind you the whole time I’m also thinking, for not being busy this place is a mess and Dr Camp sucks at being an eye doctor, at least from what I’ve experienced at other doctors. I’ve always felt comfortable, welcome and got answers and talked about my eyes at these places but after this second visit with Dr Camp, I would drive hours wherever to avoid him, i truely believe if I did have something wrong with my eyes beyond corrective vision he would not catch or see it, I do no trust him at all with my eye healthDr Camp does an excellent job of being a absolutely terrible eye doctor. He seems half asleep, mumbles through everything and he doesn’t explain anything about your eye health, he’ll take your questions as if your and idiot, he’s sarcastic and uncomfortable to be around. ENJOY!

Of my handful of visits, the staff has been friendly and polite, however, there seems to be a major lack of organization going on here.On my last visit to pay a bill and pick up contacts (I was called regarding them being there and it took a few weeks for me to make it in), I walked in the office to 3 people behind the desk who greeted me promptly, as they werent helping any other patients. They seemed to be chatting about non-work related things, so when they told me I had to wait for someone on the glasses fitting side to be available (again, just to pull my order and swipe my card) I was a bit disappointed.I waited for about 15 minutes while one of the staff was fitting a patient with frames, and 2 other staff members were shuffling through a rather unsightly stack of inventory? Honestly it was pretty unprofessional but I wrote it off and continued to wait. Finally someone came to help me, only to say that they didnt have my contacts. I paid my bill and had to return to get the contacts later.Theres a lot of room for improvement at this office, but until then, I wont be back. With number of seemingly idle bodies and the very apparent disorganization I encountered, Ive decided to find another optometrist.

Doctor came into room and never introduced himself or addressed me by name. He never acknowledged any information I offered during the exam, nor did he explain any part of the procedure or results.

At every step during the process to get an exam, prescription glasses and financials, there were major mistakes. Physical exam twice, wrong prescription, had to send glasses back to the lab. They ran my payment check twice, it had cleared (had to deal with my bank) and then had a bunch of attitude accusing me of NSF for their mistake or was it a mistake to run the check 20 days later.I will not trust my eye care to this practice.

This guy is the worst. I ordered glasses and heard nothing, when I went back to check on them the lady told me they had to fire the last person who did that job and she’d have to check. super unprofessional to tell me that and I don’t care anyway. Got a refund and will never return.
