Okay. This is like playing a video game. Golf courses in the real world don’t look like this. Check out the photos if you’re dubious. Easily the most beautiful course I’ve ever played that wasn’t beside the ocean and even then….just a magical place. If that wasn’t enough, the staff was a joy! The pros, the bartender, the starter…they were all wonderful. People at places like this are typically full of themselves but not here. Even the group in front of us was a joy.We also saw two bucks dining on the fringe around the 14th green. And I hit a 202-yard 9-iron on the famous 13th. My wife nearly aced 16!

Pretty course. But a complete waste of money. Let me explain. As a travel writer I play hundreds of courses all over and this particular one is one of my least favorites. First you pay $175 and the driving range is two mats, hitting into a net. Second as of September 11, the website offers a “new breakfast menu” which was non existent. The manager used COVID as an excuse which is fine. but don’t advertise what you don’t have, we drove two hours to play there and got there early expecting to have a great breakfast before our round. Finally there was no cart girl the entire round! So no food or drinks of any kind, and no water on the course. We saw her there packing the cart when we got there apparently she decided she didn’t want to work and decided to go home. All of these things are fine but if you charge $175 have at least water on the course, find someone to drive the food cart, and for god sake update your website so people don’t drive two hours expecting one thing just to get something else.

Always one of my favorite courses to play and today was no exception! The fairways were exceptional and the greens rolled true and fast! Due to the Calder fire a lot a people stayed away which made it feel like we had the course to ourselves

If you are in the Truckee/Northshore area, Coyote Moon is a must. One of the best Public Golf Courses I have every played.Beautiful views, well kept facilities, manicured greens and the fresh air of the great out doors.Hole 13 is one you will never forget and the ball absolutely flies at this elevation.Friendly staff, bag drop, and fully stocked carts.

Challenge from the start. Phone system didn’t work and no one would return a call. Only when the pro from another local course was kind enough to reach out for us did they respond. Rough reception when we arrived and seemed like we were bothering the guy checking us in. Golf course itself, Bill the starter and pace of play gets a much higher rating. Bill the starter was friendly, knowledgeable and almost made up for the poor service received by the golf shop staff.

Zero StarsStaff is unprofessionalLive 3 hours away from course; came up and was able to get in one hole before the course pulled us off for thunder/lighting. Provided voucher in lieu of refund that expired at end of season.Contacted GM for solutions/extension; received no response for over a week. Contacted Head Pro and was told no option.1) should have been reimbursed given distance 2) should have provided alternative options 3) Staff should have responded to inquiry in timely fashion.

Location was nice but condition of the course was not worth 130$ in my opinion especially without a driving range. Tee time was at 845 but got pushed back to 915. After the 9th hole at 11am our group of 4 stopped at the bar to grab a drink to go. The course manager was telling us to hurry up because we were taking to long even though we stopped no longer than 10min. All in all it was nice course but probably won’t be going back.

This is a great course! The front and back 9 are very unique with the front being more open and the back being more narrow. So many fun obstacles and lots of elevation changes. Several multi tier greens.

This is a wonderful golf course. From the tips it offers a nonstop series of risk-reward holes. If you can drive it straight and control your approach shots, every hole is gettable. If not, every hole is a double-bogey, or worse, waiting to happen. And the views are spectacular.

This course is beautiful and I would recommend playing it at least once. The only reason this is a 1 star post is because the management/staff is horrific. We called ahead because we were going to arrive exactly at our tee time. We couldnt change the tee time (not mad about that, was our fault) since they were completely booked out however, they werent. After we were rushed to the first tee (and told we didnt have time to grab beers or snacks) we played 9 in 95 degrees without ever encountering the beverage cart a single time. Called the food and drink # and went straight to voicemail, called the pro shop and was told theyre very busy but feel free to continue calling and can leave voicemails for the restaurant. The starter mocked an earlier group because they took 2 1/2 hours to play 9 and explained thats why theyre so backed up before asking us to keep the pace of play up. We felt very rushed. This is a 10/10 course ran by absolute clowns. I would maybe get fleeced for another 130$ to experience the course again but only if Im byob and water. Never saw the Bev cart on the back 9 either (yes she was supposedly making rounds all day). They charge country club prices for a local municipal course service. Play it once and take a lot of pictures. Really wish they could figure it out because the course is beautiful.

I have played this course occasionally over the last few years but after yesterdays round I may not be back. Our tee time was 1:20 and we didnt tee off unto 1:35 then had a 5.5 hour round. There is no excuse for a golf course to load up the tee sheet and create that situation. We played Old Greenwood earlier in the week and it was cart path only due to the upcoming PGA tour event and our foursome played in less than 4 hours. I would go back to Old Greenwood before coming back to Coyote Moon.

Very enjoyable mountain course, but too unplayable for some. Played with a fun couple last week, and they liked it but will not be back.Depending on pin placement you may have the most three putts in your life.In general, you need to hit it long, straight, and have a good short game. No forgiveness being off the fairway, as the ball will be unplayable IF you can find it.Even a good drive can leave a bad lie given the hilly nature of most holes.

Course spectacular, although lack of clearing of coring made for rough fairways. The most disappointing aspect was poor customer service that made for a memorable day for the wrong reasons. Last week of the season showed, with lack of course staff and lack of interest in addressing slow players, then no empathy when we complained after deciding to cut our round short due to the delays. Food menu reduced as we were ordering due to running down availability. The level of service should be same on any day this $100 per round course is open regardless of the time of year. Could not recommend this course.

Absolutely wonderful golf course. The views and setting are spectacular, the course extremely well maintained, and course staff very friendly and accommodating. The food at the course cafe was also very, very good. Overall, its by far the best course in the area and that includes the Edgewood down in South Lake Tahoe. Add in the fact you can play it at half the cost of that particular course and its a complete no-brainer to give this one a shot if youre in the area and looking for a spectacular course to play. Hole #13 alone is worth the price of admission. Check them out if youre in the area. You wont be disappointed.
