I called on Monday and got in on Wednesday at 9:30am. I needed a full synthetic oil change and filter. Plus, replace cabin air filter and windshield wipers. I thought the cost was great at $158!! J.J. was great customer service, even when he wasnt feeling well. It was all done in an hour and they had to have parts delivered I think twice!! I definitely will bring my car back here!!

I’ve had nothing but positive experiences at Covenant. These are good, honest mechanics. I’ve taken all of vehicles here and have had pre-purchase inspections done on vehicles. They get everything done in a timely manner and for a fair price. It’s hard to find a good, honest mechanic and I feel I’ve hit the jack pot finding this place.

I can not say enough good things about JJ. This guy is the most respectable and caring guy I have ever met in the automotive field. As a woman, I tend to get messed over when it comes to having car trouble and finding someone that will not take advantage of me. Especially, because I know nothing about whats going on with my car. But, JJ was true and honest with me, he really helped me understand what the issues were with my car and he stayed true to his word about not giving me the runaround or trying to dig deep into my pockets. I really appreciated the business and treatment that I received and Covenant has a lifetime customer in me. I was a tourist in Tucson and just before I was scheduled to drive home, the check engine light came on. The code was for the camshaft positioning sensor. I went to Autozone and purchased parts and asked for a recommendation for a shop that could do the repairs. The first shop I went to said it would be two weeks before they could do the repairs, and the second one said it would be one week. I asked the second shop for a referral and they told me that they had heard good things about Covenant. I called Covenant and spoke with J.J. he said they were busy but would take a look at it and provide me with an estimate for the time and cost. I explained to him that I needed to return home that day, 300 miles away. He said they would get me right in. J.J. got my car looked at right away. J.J. showed me that the parts Autozone had sold me (for $145) were the wrong parts. He was able to find the correct parts and arranged for then to be delivered to Covenant within 30 minutes. A short time later, my car was fixed. J.J. didnt charge me any markup at all on the cost of the parts and only $30 for the repairs. The tech even took my car for a test drive to ensure it would run correctly and the code would clear. As J.J. told me, this is a Christian shop and they operate on Christian principles. He was straightforward and kind. My car ran great. I feel so blessed to have found this shop. I just wish I could bring them to New Mexico with me. Thanks again J.J. and crew!

Changed the valve cover gasket, spark plugs, and rear cam seals on my Taco, quickly and efficiently. I called in to get a quote to diagnose a problem code (p0420). They didn’t seem interested in actually diagnosing the problem and told me I’d have to outright replace the catalytic converter. Even though it’s often a loose wire, sensor, etc. They were not interested in actually finding the root cause of the problem. I’m trying to fix the issue and not just guess.

We have had Covenant Automotive work on both of our vehicles for a few years now . Mark & his crew always treat us fairly & get the job done right, without trying to add other repairs that arent needed at the time . A week ago, my wifes car broke down @ dawn while on her way home from work. She works overnight & would need her car that night . We called Mark, explained our needs, & the timeline we had . He had a tow truck there within 20 minutes & we followed in my car to his shop on Speedway Blvd.When we got there, he already had the part we thought needed, & ran a diagnostic to confirm . We left & about mid-afternoon he called to say it was fixed & ready to be picked up. Even though there were other vehicles there to be repaired, they got them serviced too . We take all our vehicles here and always have. I especially love the fact that they are openly Christian. When I sit in their office waiting for my car to get finished, they play a Christian radio station. That makes my whole day!🙏 Our cars are really old and work really well, and they always take the time to fix them fast no matter how inconvenient it is for them.

Absolutely Fantastic! Honest, Reliable, Experienced, Personable. I have to say that I really appreciate people who are good at their job and like doing it. Mike fixed a head gasket for me 2 years ago on one of my vehicles and I havent had any problems since. I live far enough away that a round trip takes me about an hour and a half, but I wouldnt take my vehicles anywhere else. It is hard to find people you can trust, but with Mike I know he will get things done right. He has worked with me on scheduling and always gives me plenty of options after an expert and thorough diagnosis. Thank you Mike for being so good at what you do!

A friend referred me to Mike when my Buick needed work. He is an honest mechanic that wont overcharge or inflate his prices. His appraisals and fees are more than reasonable. I like that he explains what is wrong with the vehicle in simple understandable terms. Mike and his team go out of their way for customer satisfaction. We wont take our vehicles anywhere else!

I have taken my car here several times and I find I can truly trust that they will find the exact nature of the problem, And the car always runs great after having work done. However I am not pleased with the mark up on parts ! I have found myself being charged approx 2 1/2 times the cost of the part say at auto zone. I understand they like to make money on parts but I feel it should be kept reasonable otherwise it feels like getting ripped off.

I have been searching for an honest mechanic in Tucson. Ive taken my vehicles to places like Midas and found out (the hard way) that their main goal is to get as much money out of you as they possibly can. They try to get you to replace parts that dont need replacing before fixing the main problem. I took my car to Mike the Mechanic and had the best experience in service and pricing. He is an honest mechanic and did what three other mechanics before him couldnt. He fixed my car and it is now running better then ever. If you are looking for an honest mechanic I recommend bringing it to Mike.

I cant begin to describe how great this place really is. As a female, its easy to feel taken advantage of whenever I go to any car repair shop, so often times I try to avoid these places if I can. However, my experience at Mike the Mechanic Automotive Repair and Service was nothing less than excellent. The vibe here is so genuine, just at the employees are. Ive referred all of my female friends here that ever have issues with their vehicle, and this is the only place I will ever go to in Tucson for any car troubles!

I have my Maserati and Toyota serviced here. Mark is top rated mechanic and went out of the way to fix a part that was needed so I would not have to go to Phoenix and spend big bucks. Mike the Mechanic is great for classic cars too! I came by this shop about a year ago when my 1966 Mustang was having issues with overheating. Wes recommended that we install a larger fan and custom shroud for the radiator to help keep the car cool and its worked like a dream since then. Ive also been by a couple of other times for other issues: replacing the battery, replacing some electrical components, and even installing all new suspension (to include all the struts, control arms, springs, bushings, tie rods, sway bar, etc.). I have complete confidence that this shop will provide top quality service and I know that the employees are extremely competent in their craft. If youre looking for a place to get a simple maintenance like an oil change, or to get more complex work done to your car, I would definitely recommend Mike the Mechanic.

Mike the Mechanic because not only to they provide honest and dependable service, but they also take the time to really explain any work that they have done. I do not have an automotive background, I appreciate that they are willing to work with me to understand my cars needs, and what needs to be done. They have always been up front about pros and cons of possible work on my car, and I feel that they have always been honest with me. That means a lot!

I wouldnt come here again if it was the only place in the state. They are way over priced and have no idea what they are talking about. Try and talk to you like you dont have a clue about vehicles....order wrong parts and screw up other parts because they dont know what theyre doing. Youre better off hiring cheap Mexican labor than going to this place. Anybody can service a vehicle and do an oil change but as far as vehicle repairs go, they dont have a clue. I broke down in Tucson and my insurance company provided the name of the nearest garage - Mike the Mechanic. Talk about HONEST! Ive always said there are two things difficult to find, A Good Doctor and An Honest Mechanic - one down, one to go!I live a 100 miles away in Phoenix, however, after discovering Mike the Mechanic, I make a point traveling the 100 miles to keep my vehicle properly maintained by Mike the Mechanic! Its worth the 100 mile drive and despite the cost of gas, its a savings on my pocket!

Buyer of my car used this place to make sure they were getting a good deal, they said it would need $1500 in repairs, and that it couldnt pass emissions when I already have it passed emissions and they made up that a bunch of random sensors were bad. They lied hoping to get repairs done at their shop. How Christian of them.

Mike is awesome, my first experience with him was when he was able to identify and fix a problem with my car for about half the price as the shop that messed it up wanted to just look at the issue. Since than, I have had my car almost completely rebuilt mechanically by Mike. He is the most honest and fair mechanic I have known and has always stood by his work. If theres something wrong (which is almost never), hell fix it too. I wont take mine or my girlfriends car to anyone else.

Took my truck here that had a check engine light on. I took it to a couple other places before finding Mike. He was able to figure out what was wrong and fix it. Saved me from dumpping a couple thousand into it. Great customer service and very skilled mechanics. I will only take my truck here to be serviced.

We have a multi-vehicle household including an old SUV. Mike does all that work on them that I dont do myself or get done under new vehicle warranty. Hes done major repairs & drivetrain work on the SUV & its all been good. Good small shop service, you can discuss the details with them, and they return your phone calls.

Mike was open and honest with me about what went wrong with my truck. Within about three hours of breaking down on the side of the road, he had my truck towed to his shop, repaired, and back on the road. The price was very fair, and there was no fast talk or confusing lingo when he described what had happened. Things have been great with the truck since then.

Took my Impala on a referral to Mark to have my Secondary Air Injection pump system looked at, because i have a Check-Engine light. Was told it could 4 different things.Come to find out that there is a T.S.B out on this system,dated 2004 long before i had the car, and it was not complied with, or fixed.Car is not due for Registration until February of next year. Wont pass emissions with the Check-Engine light.I will have it repaired before February. Learned so much from Mark/J.J. about that system and where the pump is. Will be going back to get the T.S.B done.Took the car to other places and was never told that there is a T.B.S out on that year of car.Good to know.Thanks again.

Mike has maintained both of our cars, and has always been up front and honest with what needs to be done. 100% Recommendation for him, his staff, and his shop!

Bought a 96 4runner, much to my dismay, the engine was completely sludged up and the lifters/main bearings sounded like they were slapping and sloshing around. Brought to MTMs shop. We had a discussion, I made a decision, the bill was over 5 grand, and I handed him the money. New engine was the call. The timeline for a R/R was around 2 weeks to complete. The job ran a little over 3, due to the engine not being on time. I am not an easy customer. I expect perfection from myself in my line of work, as lives depend on it. I also expect perfection in others line of work as well. Long story short, when the job was done, I inspected every inch of my car. There was one thing at the end that I had thought was missing, however, my eyeballs were misleading me so that got worked out. No problem. I went as so far to check the torque specs on a few nuts and bolts here and there, and they are all within range. Flawless delivery. I would give the work 5/5. As far as the pricing goes, I had done my homework previous to going into this. Most of the shops were ranging 6500-8000 with a used engine, not a rebuild, and this was clearly beaten, hands down. 5/5 on pricing. The company he uses has a decent warranty on their product (engines), in which he utilizes well. 4/5 on warranties. Since Toyota engines are known for reliability, this was not really an issue. There were better ones out there, but the price line increases. Timeline: 4/5 respectively. Not that this was an issue to me by any means, I could see how this might be to others. This was a big job and sometimes @#$# happens. We were held up by a part being ordered from the manufacturer and the block being late. Mikes Personality: 4.5/5 Hes a straight shooter, and has no problem voicing his opinion. He is generally easy to get along with. He can get a little testy when busy, as we all can, but he will tell you like it is, with no hesitation. If you do not want to hear the truth, do not ask. If you appreciate it like myself, by all means, fire away. Shop: 4.5/5 He has a busy 3-4 bay shop, depending on how you look at it. It is clean, well maintained, organized, and built well functionally for the average auto maintenance and repairs. (smaller jobs) You will definitely get your car back on time, if not earlier with his shop within this described context.Employees: 5/5 The ones that I have encountered have been cordial, have a good sense of humor, and always seemed helpful if needed. (Glenn and Chris)Knowledge Base 5/5. He knows his stuff, so dont even go there. If theres a recommendation to you, theres a reason for it. Open your ears up.Customer Retention: 5/5 The 6 times I had been there, I saw multiple repeat customers coming in and talking with him as if he were part of their family. He has a well established clientele in the local area, and one older lady just stopped by to get her tires checked and filled up. Try that anywhere else, and youll have to get an appointment. A little old school is the best school.Will I go back? Yes. I have a few high ticket items that still need to be done. I will gladly pay for it, as I understand the value of good work.He may even get to work on my Barrett-Jackson ride. Well see what he says about that.Good work Mike. Thanks for it all.

This guy is a liar, is untrustworthy, and has some serious issues accepting criticism. He bribes people who leave bad reviews into removing them hence the high ratings. I urge people to try elsewhere and just avoid the hassle. I can guarentee he will leave a nice little make believe story about me in a reply like he has with multiple people.

So based on Mikes response to my review he is blaming this whole situation on me and my brother and stating his half truths! I never once raised my voice to Mike or insulted him until he called me a Crazy B**ch! As someone who has been in collections and in customer service for many years you know that no matter how upset a consumer makes you, you DO NOT speak to them in the tone or the manner that Mike spoke to me. So again Mike has edited his response and now is claiming that I gave him my work # as a # for contact and I did no such thing. I never provided Mike or Wes with my work # they got it off of the caller ID from when I originally called to pay for my brothers car repairs. As I stated before when I was on the phone with Wes I offered to pay for the $40.00 tow as well as the $106 for the distributor that they installed but instead they took the distributor out and put the parts in the car when they pushed it onto the street. Mike didnt call me at work to tell me what they had decided to do he called me and immediately started raising his voice and being insulting to me. All of my calls at my job are recorded and this can be proven.This place has a code of Ethics on their website that states: To give the best customer service possible and, in the case of any disputes, to provide a prompt and amicable resolution. -To ensure that my entire staff conducts themselves in a professional manner and in keeping with the high standards of the automotive industry.I can tell you from my personal experience that they are full of it and they do not follow their own code of ethics.How is it that any business owner thinks that it is acceptable to speak to anyone in this manner, especially and man speaking to and insulting a woman they Mike did with me! he claims that he took verbal abuse but i never once called him a name all I ever did was defend myself and my brother! I understand that everyone has their own opinion and I have given mine. I am an honest hard working individual that didnt deserve to be treated the way I was treated by the owner of this business.Also if you research and actually read all of the reviews you will see that they have done this same situation to at least one other person in this year!When my brother and I first talked to Wes we thought this was a good reputable company. We were VERY VERY wrong! They gave us a written estimate and then after having the car and starting the work they called to tell my brother that the price was going to almost double. We told them we couldnt afford that and that is when they showed their true colors! Wes got an attitude with me when I asked him why he started the work before checking to make sure the estimate was going to cover the work that needed to be done. He said Well I could have been an a**hole and just ordered the parts and fixed the car and then you wouldnt have had a choice but to pay the bill! I told him not to charge my card a dime and that is when a male in the background decided to call me crazy! Then I ended that call and they proceeded to tell my brother that they put all of his parts in his piece of s**t car and pushed it into the street. Then I got a call from Mike (owner) at my job, not on my personal phone and he proceeded to call me several different names including, Stupid B***h, crazy, ignorant and a few other choice names. When I called him out on how unprofessional he was being he continued with the name calling. DO NOT EVER TAKE ANY VEHICLE TO THIS PLACE UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE SCAMMED OUT OF YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY!!!!!!I have NEVER been to their shop or spent any of my money there because they tried to scam my brother out of more money! I refused to pay for the repairs they decided they wanted to do instead of the estimate they gave to us. I cancelled my credit card to make sure they couldnt charge it! I was trying to help my brother get his car fixed and had the unfortunate displeasure of having to deal with Mike.
