They are out of stock of a substantial amount of vitamins, and dont staff the Vitamin department regularly. This USE TO be the only place I trusted for vitamins. They USE TO have very helpful and courteous staff. I averaged hundred dollars or so per month on supplements here alone. I also encouraged everyone I know to solely purchase their vitamins here, due to the high quality of the product and how trustworthy they are. I never ran into problems- until today. First bad experience, but bad enough that I will not return until Im able to speak to a manager that is willing to correct the situation, as follows:I drive 40 min to and from this Natural Grocers, because I trusted them. Yesterday, they were out of stock of half the supplements that I needed. They also didnt have anyone who could answer my questions, though a kind young gentleman in produce tried his best. Ok. I figure Ill call and see when someone can help, and when they restock the items.The next day, I called in with my questions regarding stocking schedules, and reasonable alternatives for out if stock items. I asked Tammy when they usually staff the vitamin department. Tammy was trying to get off the phone the entire time. She didnt answer my question regarding when they get shipments in, or stock for that department. She also refused to tell me when the vitamin department is generally staffed.Despite me telling her that no one was able to help me the previous day, she insisted that it didnt matter when the vitamin department was staffed, because anyone would be able to assist me. That, as I politely indicated to her, was not my experience the day prior. I told her it is a very long drive for me, so its quite a gamble to show up, not knowing Ill leave with what I needed. She told me that they dont give out personal schedules.. but I clarified AGAIN that I just want to know when *anyone* was working that department. You know, what hours do they typically staff that department?I was willing to try reasonable replacements for the products I needed which were out of stock, and I told her Id need guidance to do so. She repeated that anyone could help me- despite me telling her that that was NOT my experience, and that I drive 40+ minutes JUST for my supplements and some helpful guidance. A trip that was not successful.I inquired if I could ask the manager about the schedule for that department/ when people are generally in the vitamin department. Tammy said that the manager wasnt there, and to call back. Thats fine, but she wouldnt tell me when I should call back. I asked her to take a message for him, so he could call at his convenience. She declined to answer, insisting that I call back during the ambiguous times he might be there.She suggested that I show up to purchase the products at ANOTHER ambiguous time- not knowing if they have the product in stock, or if someone knowledgeable would be there to assist me in finding an alternative to those products.This use to be the ONLY place I would purchase vitamins. Unless they make this right, I will not be doing so again. Spending money should not at all be so exhaustive. . Nor should I have the additional cost in gas of driving 40 minutes or so and back and forth because someone refused to provide BASIC information I might need to come when I could actually purchase the costly products that I need.Tammy took my name and number for an order (which I doubt she will complete, with her attitude towards me). I was forced to wear a mask, even with a health condition. They said it was store policy. I checked their store policy and it stated that their policy was in relation with Tucson’s mandate. Tucson’s mandate states clearly the requirements for folks with disabilities (Natural Grocers workers were wrong and/or lying). I was harassed by the manager 2x and an employee after explaining I had a medical exemption... They clearly don’t understand their own policy... I’m thinking about suing.

I love this store! Great food great prices for organic food and the customer service is amazing and there is like never anyone in there maybe a handful at a time.

Restricting its selection to organic provides an environment where the price is not artificially heightened due to it not eroding profits from reductions in the total sell of zucchini for example. When you buy organic produce at a general grocery store, the price is to maximize the profit of selling both. Premium becomes the gouging price and often if you want fresh produce the organic selection wont accommodate you. Not the case here. This store does not have people buying the non organic selection in lieu of the organic. So as the price on an organic item becomes more compelling the volume drastically increases. That ultimately will make it more standard price. It costs almost nothing to try the flavor of the organic version of what you eat. You might be shocked and never regret the price even reducing what you spend by simply eating much less with greater health and incomparable pleasure. I dont however think that organic potatoes should be irrigated and hope that they are not. That means more potato less water per pound, healthier french fries, more nutrition. Its on my list of things to Google at some point LOL.

This little hole in the wall has hard to find items. I especially like the prepackaged bulk area. I found horseradish powder, very hard to find. They also have more delicate bulk items that are refrigerated. Found so many things I needed! Also vegan convenience tv dinners added easy more plentiful here! I love being able to get the items I want at decent prices and feeling good about the company I am buying them from.

It was a bit busier than usual but everyone was good about keeping their distance. Employees are always very nice.

Cleaning and Social distancing is done perfectly here, while you shop for all your natural needs.

Im so glad I found this place! Organic foods. Gluten free. Pretty reasonable prices. Lots of variety. Fruits and veggies are fresh. Wheelchair accessible with handicapped parking. Everything from honey to meat. Nice staff, also. They dont hover over you, but are easy to find if you need help. Either take your own bags/boxes, or you can buy reusable bags. Boxes are also available. No plastic to fill our landfills.Large variety of shelled nuts. I bought a pound of shelled walnuts for $5.99. They were fresh and delicious.

Everyone is go friendly and helpful. The young lady who greets you at the entrance (Sarayah) is so sweet and had a beautiful smile.

Highly satisfied!! I always find what I need and the cost is very reasonable. The GF bread was with $1 less than Sprouts and the organic Italian parsley was almost $1 less than Safeway.

Went for the first time, and fell in love. I am on a very restricted sodium diet for medical reasons and they had so much there I could have. I got so excited and a staff member even got into trying to find stuff for me to have. He was awesome!! Most stores and their employees kinda say oh that sucks and run the other way. Very clean, will organized store. Its is very pricey on some items, so just know what your getting and what you would normally pay. I also got produce that was on sale. am not a huge person on organic produce, but we got some apples and they were the absolute best I have had hands down,(and being from Southern California, I generally think most of the produce that we get here in Tucson stinks very few exceptions) so major kudos to their produce department and manager!! They also had things, that I had seen online, that I could have,, but no other store in Tucson carries. So LOVE this place!! The cashier was also awesome!! we got discussing that it was our first trip to the store and my restrictions and he thought of at least five to six other things off the top of his head, that I had missed, that he thought I could have and was willing to go grab all of them if I wanted him to,,, but being the store was already past closing I said I would look when I came back the next time. It was just a great experience all around!!

Excellent selection for everyone! I appreciate that they have a discounted produce section toward the front of the store for those in need of a hefty price break. And a clearance section in the back(many people arent aware of this), behind the supplement aisles. The staff members are helpful and often knowledgeable about the products they carry. They also have a very nice classroom for educational classes they offer to the public. Great place!

Love this store! It smells like the essential oil diffusers they have turned on when you walk in. They have a great selection of allergy friendly foods including dairy free cheese, Paleo, vegan, gluten free items and organic produce! Its like a giant snack store where all the snacks are good for you. Strange. Nice and quiet place though. Make sure you bring a bag for your purchases or a bag will be your final purchase.

I do not typically write a review. However, my experience with the employee by the name of Miles has been nothing less than atrocious. He never greets me, never tells me the price of my groceries, breathes heavily when I am in his line, rolls his eyes, and never tells me about any promotions. I have been nothing but friendly to him and have had very positive experiences with the other workers at NG. Today was the third time he has done it, all the while giving above average customer service to the other patrons in front of me. I would hate to think that this is racially motivated but, I cannot help but think this way. I patron Natural Grocers every week. I choose where I spend my money, wisely. This is really unfortunate that I have to leave such a negative review. I hope something is done, however, I dont think I will be back to this location.

I was very pleased until I was placed in a very bad shopping experience by one of its very own employees. She even told me that it was my responsibility to confirm the proper egg price was being rang up. It went on from there. Since this occurrence I have not returned and I used to shop here many times throughout the week. Very disappointed. I will no longer refer anyone. I will order Amazon and shop sprouts etc.
