Many different styles of chocolates available!!! If I were to guess, they probably have about 50 to choose from! The store was well thought out and had featured items up front. Their collections were on the side, but they also allow you to mix your own flavors for just a tiny bit more. I was able to get some good Christmas gifts there with exclusive holiday selections.
On a whim, on Wednesday (9/22/2021) while driving to get gas, we randomly drove past a chocolate factory that had a sign out front that said that they offered tours. Immediately went online and booked a tour for later that day. Im so glad that we did!If youre in Seattle, check out this tour. It was only $12 a person (plus tax & fees) but it wasnt simply a factory tour, but a tasting class as well!We sampled a lot of chocolates in the class and they had people on the line working during the factory tour.I had no idea that people were hand packaging these chocolates in the paper sleeve! We obviously werent allowed to bring phones on the factory tour, but my favorite machine was the robot arms that picked up the silicone molds, suctioned the sheet of cooled chocolate out, and plopped it on the conveyor belt to be cut into squares.Of all the chocolates that we sampled, the chocolate with sesame bar was my favorite. Sounds like a weird combination, but it was really nice! All of their chocolates are kosher. Their metallic-looking truffle wrappers are backyard compostable - made from eucalyptus trees that are sustainably harvested from Forest Stewardship Council managed forests. In addition, the chocolate comes from Rainforest Alliance Certified farms in West Africa & small batch farms in Peru. Finally, a portion of their proceeds goes back to charity to feed the hungry in the community.
Love coming here when I’m down this way. They have the best chocolate that you can’t just get at your local grocery store. I have done the chocolate tour and found that to be really informative. They go over how the chocolate bean is grown and cared for and how much work it is to get it. I they start you out with a shot of chocolate which I think is a great touch to get the tour started. During the tour you get to go behind the scenes and see how things are made In the factory and they give you samples of different chocolates along the way. At the end of the tour you go back to the room and they give you different types of chocolate to try and rate them. They go over the different flavors and types they have you rate. It’s a very educational experience for all ages. I love how They have different flavors to go with each season. I tried the orange cream bar and it’s delicious very orange and vanilla that just flow together. I had the Neapolitan bar as well which taste like dark chocolate, pink bubbly and the cake batter all wrapped in on bar. I would highly recommend trying these before they are gone.
Their Halloween haunted factory tour was so fun! We took the kids and had a blast. Since then weve been enjoying their wonderful chocolate. Highly recommend!
Customer service was great! There were a variety of chocolates & gluten free options - truffle bars, malted milk balls, truffles (vanilla orange cream, malted milk, birthday cake, salted almond, champagne, dark & much more). They carried the Jcoco collection, which gives back to the community. They also had local wines. They offered pre-packaged items as well as fill a bag of truffles by the ounce or pound. Quality chocolate - worth the $! And their bathrooms were clean.
It’s chocolate. How can you go wrong. The factory scrap bags are the best deal.
I went to see the tour, its so worth I loved it, a must see for everyone.
Fun factory tour which is informative and delicious! Excellent chocolates! Check out seconds Saturdays for discounted chocolates that taste great but have some blemishes!
Gourmet chocolate made with integrity locally in a Women owned business. Definitely a winner! Cant wait to return and go on the factory tour... plan ahead for that, it was sold out the day we wanted to go.
They have a haunted factory for the Halloween season that is family fun
I went to the store at SeaTac airport. I wanted something to take to my visit with my family in North Carolina. I got a bulk assortment. My family and friends loved the chocolate and the variety of fun and delicious flavors. Will definitely need to come to the store and get some more!
Ill admit with how reasonably priced the tour was I didnt expect much and boy was I mistaken. Lots of good information as well as a robust tasting experience (which I didnt expect because of the price). Very knowledgeable staff and a fun environment. Not to mention the chocolate is high quality and delicious. Would highly recommend.
My husband and I took the tour and it was an amazing experience. I learned a lot about the process of chocolate making and with the tour we got to taste test some of the chocolates and it was delicious! I highly recommend and I will personally be back for more chocolates!
I dont recall how my wife heard about this place, but I wish I found out about them way sooner, their chocolates are delicious.Over the last few months weve been sending a variety of their chocolate to family in Hawaii, and they have loved it and have been asking us to send them more. They have a nice shop and the lady working there was really nice. If youre looking for a gift idea, something from Seattle or just something from Washington, this is the place. Or if you just love chocolate you gotta try theirs. Well be back for sure!
What a wonderful experience! Did a tour with my mother and father in law and it was a hit! So fun and Chris was an awesome tour guide! 100% recommend.
I went to find this place to inquire about tours and see how to get to it. Easy to find with parking out front. Went inside to ask some questions, the employee was helpful and friendly. Going to book a tour for a day date, looks to be a great place and inexpensive to see!! At this point I would recommend going...
Stopped by Thorp Fruit and Antique Mall and pick up your Pumpkin Spice, Apple Pie ā la Mode and Seattle Sea Salt. All amazing! Cant wait to order more flavors.
Nice retail shop. Super friendly employees. The tour was interesting but sadly, the tour guide was a bit dry and boring, very nice though. Although, I could have done without him telling us several times that when hes in trouble with his girlfriend he brings her her favorite chocolate bar... The first time was okay, it fit in, but the other 2 or 3 times, just too much. I would still recommend the tour though and you also get free samples!
Ive been going to Seattle Chocolates since around 2016 and the chocolate is very delicious. They have various flavors available to choose from and to package up for your loved ones. To anyone who knows, seconds use to be available on a rack everyday but now are available for a limited time on Saturdays.
Pros: what’s not to like? Perfect place to get gifts for all occasion. Love the tour as well if they offer it. I love that they give you a few gift box when you get three bars of chocolate and even out a little bow on it. It’s an impressive looking gift for 12.50!And put a few truffles in your mouth while you get gifts. It’ll only cost you couple of dollars.Very clean.
I love this chocolate! Best of the Seattle area produced chocolates and better than other more famous brands. The factory outlet store has a great selection for gifts and offers a neat tour.
Make sure you take a tasting here-amazing experience !
Amazing chocolate but it is rather expensive. Service was difficult to find.
Amazing chocolate with so many flavors, you will be surprised. Little bit expensive... Good customer service, I had a coupon, and I didnt know theyre not using that coupon anymore, but sale person asked manager, and they honor me to use it. I spent $50 but made lots of people happy (I was traveling, so little sweet gifts from Seattle). My last visit I took my friend to shop and store looks beautiful after remodeling.
This place is amazing! During October, they have a haunted chocolate factory tour with amazing actors, then normally, they have chocolate factory tours with amazing samples. I have done the haunted factory one twice, and the normal one once, and would definitely do both of them again multiple times. Did I also mention how delicious their chocolate is? Definitely stop by if you have a free day
The milk choc truffle is nice and smooth. I enjoyed the moon rocks bar, my husband like the espresso truffle, and my daughter liked the birthday cake batter truffle. There are tours that are an hour long but times werent posted so when we arrive it was 10:30 and the next wasnt until 12. We werent gonna wait around for that so maybe well be back another day.
I loved the displays! They were so pretty and fun. And the chocolate is amazing! It is on the expensive side though
Outstanding chocolate and customer service. I ordered the Prism gift box earlier this month, but did not end up receiving it. I reached out to customer service, and despite it being FedEx’s mistake, Kristine sent me a brand new gift box. The chocolate itself is like nothing I’ve had before. The quality is fantastic, and it’s paired with amazingly creative flavor combinations. I can’t wait to try more.
Cool location, with factory seconds, as well tours and chocolate tasting. Different kinds of chocolate that you dont normally see in grocery stores
Friendly and professional. People wearing masks and being safe. Delicious samples offered.
Amazing tour and delicious chocolates! Its a must see if youre in Seattle.
Loved how its female-run and how there were many women employees there. Great product as well.
Trunk or treat was awesome! Thank you, Seattle Chocolate. We promise to frequent your location. We didnt know you offer tours with tickets. Will definitely do this soon! We appreciate you! Our kids had fun.
Kept well clean, friendly and professional staff and amazing chocate candy selections
The chocolate was amazing and taking the tour was just plain fun
The best most luscious melt in your mouth chocolate in the best flavors! I found them in the Seattle airport on a layover and sample some and fell in love. All the chocolates are so smooth in your mouth feeling with great flavor is my favorite are Champagne has pop rocks in it and the birthday cake and coconut sea salt. I recommend getting variety pack for you and a friend to enjoy !
I wanted to make a 1lb bag of champagne and blackberry creme truffles as a UW graduation gift, but was worried that I wouldnt be able to due to COVID-19. I emailed them a request and they replied very quickly that they were able to make a baggie for me! They are using a contact-free curbside pickup, which involves calling to inform them you are at the factory. They place your candy on a shelf outside their door, and then you can get out of the car to pick it up. The 1lb bag is super cute, plus they threw in a couple freebie truffles to sample :)
Factory seconds on Saturdays. Next time Ill have to plan in advance to do the tour
Our favorite place to buy delicious chocolate!
Seattle chocolate is always worth a visit- especially with new holidays meaning new chocolate varieties! Employees are always friendly and helpful. This time, I tried choffay ... its a brewed drink made from chocolate nibs, looks like coffee but maybe more like chocolate tea in flavor, or americano coffee.Basically... it was like a lightly flavored chocolate coffee style drink, with a mild coffee-like bitterness.... it was good, but after I had a square of wafer cone (yummmm) it was OUTSTANDING. I am not a black coffee drinker so that added bit of sugar/chocolate sweetness made this drink for me. If you are looking for a decaf alternative... definitely give it a try. Ask in the store and they may have samples available!
Great chocolate and love visiting when we are in town.
I live locally and went on a whim for my birthday weekend with my family. Outside has plenty of parking and looks unassuming. But once you get inside, the retail and classroom area are pretty fun and modern. The tour was was engaging and informative. Our tour guide, Chris, really knew his stuff and was able to answer some pretty complex questions from our group. I was impressed. No cameras are allowed once you get into the production area but there are definitely gram-able opportunities in the retail area and in the classroom.I hear you get to witness a little bit more factory action Monday-Friday. But we went during a non-production day and still had a great time on the tour. I would highly recommend the Seattle Chocolate tour for birthdays, a day with your pals, or for anyone looking for a unique Northwest experience.Pro-Tip: Check the event calendar and try to book a tour during one of their events or sales.I think this flagship store is pretty new and Im excited to see what events theyll have in the future. Looks like theyve already held Halloween events and even pop-up dinners. Id love to see them do a wine and chocolate tasting. Regardless, I wish I had known about this place sooner.
It was quiet today (because of the pandemic) but their chocolate is always great and theyve got some brand new flavors. Theyre also two flavors/wraps honoring the 100 anniversary of women taking the right to vote. Two thumbs up!
The truffles are super good
Since this is a negative review, Ill start with the positive: The tasting portion of the tour is cute and does give a good overall view of the product and variety. Also, I noticed that management only responds to positive reviews, so Ill attempt that first.Disappointed from the moment I made the reservation. Made a reservation for 2 p.m. arrived and found out that the person at the front desk had made a mistake and transcribed our reservation for the day after at 2 p.m. The staff was accommodating after some argument on my part but in all honesty the overall price for three people to go to a chocolate factory is kind of exorbitant. The average chocolate bar goes for $7.50 a piece and after seeing the overall efficiency problems of the facility I can see why. The staff does its best to try and cover up the fact that theres a lot of waste on the product line and spent chocolate on the floor and in buckets and then gloss over some of the other issues that seem to be sticking out when theyre running product. While we were watching their one chocolate lines a woman had gone on break and nobody was bothering with the boats that floated by with chocolate. After she returned she then proceeded to sprinkle whatever product inside the boats but during the time she was absent nothing had happened, therein leaving those chocolates improperly labelled. They do spend a lot of time on the rainforest Alliance and that somehow this ties into the fact that theyre charging this much for chocolates but I honestly didnt see why I as a consumer should care for their antics.Definitely not my thing and will definitely avoid their products in stores since Im not someone who subsidizes this sort of ineffencicy.
Everything is good except the pricing which you would expect bit cheaper than the retail. Same items are found less expensive in whole foods and pcc, also way cheaper in Costco. There is a seconds section at the entrance which is a great deal but obviously ver limited selection. Would surely go back just for that. The tour which I had in the past (pre covid) is decent enough, not sure if they do now during covid restrictions.
WOW WOW THE BEST CHOCOLATEITS TO DIE FOR ! YUM !
They have a special on saturdays, a bag of seconds of different flavors for $10. Great buy.
Great chocolates and great friendly service
Tour was relatively cheap at 10 dollars per person and it nets you a 10% discount on purchases in their store. The tour was informative and you get to taste some chocolate, so its hard to go wrong. The discount definitely helps as youll be hard pressed to not spend a ton of money on all of their crazy varieties.
So good and amazing customer service
Great gift shop, they have so many delicious types of chocolate! I want to fome back for the tour!
Fantastic chocolate factory.
A friend sent me a set of 6 different chocolate bars as a gift, and they were all delicious. It was a nice variety of complimentary flavors. I will checking out their website for more treats soon!
Great options for stocking stuffers. Staff was friendly and helpful
Great help from the staff for my girls bday
This place is great! It is a hidden gem in the suburbs of Seattle! I have been purchasing their chocolates for over 6 years now and I love all the flavors! We have visited this location multiple times and have not left disappointed! I have taken both the regular tour and haunted factory tour and I was great!!! The San Juan Sea salt truffle is awesome as well as the champagne one! FYI-I would recommend planning your tour in advance! A must for the Seattle traveler to bring home some goods to remember your trip here!!!
Love their chocolate. Nice staff. You would think because it is the factory you would get deals but not so much. A few things from the past holiday were on sale but no deals.
Yummy!!!! Awesome Christmas gift from my Nephew and his wife. Just fabulous!❤️
The chocolate is creamy delicious thank you!
Lovely selection of fresh chocolates. Excellent variety. Service was prompt, friendly and helped direct us toward flavors we prefer.
Great chocolate. Fun tours! Go on Saturdays and pick up bags of seconds!
The factory tour experience was very informative, with fun chocolate facts and awesome to see in production. Easy to get to, convenient location, and parking. Shop is set up with great seasonal displays. There is definitely something for everyone who loves chocolate!
Love the chocolate. Love the misfits they sell on Saturday.
We really enjoy Seattle Chocolate and decided to do the factory tour. Our host was very knowledgeable and a lot of fun. The tour included various samples and a 10% discount coupon off our next purchase. Awesome chocolate and nice to see the sustainability initiatives.
Great customer service. A large variety of flavors. Get as little or as much as you want. Build your own 3 pack is the way to go. The Rainier cherry was exceptional
Had a fantastic time! Nick gave a really great and informative tour. The chocolate was delicious (all flavors)! Definitely looking to make a annual or quarterly stop by Seattle Chocolates. There isnt a enough I can say about the owner, the process, the experience, etc; it is well worth a visit/tour.
We had a great time on the chocolate tour. The host was passionate and engaging, the chocolate samples were generous, and it was very informational. Great location near the airport if you have some time before a flight.
Alot of fun variety and very yummy
Had a great time here on the factory tour! Fun, interactive, and tasty. They give you many chocolate samples, explain their sourcing process, and tour the small factory itself. The store area is open to anyone, and is tastefully and minimally arranged.
Great selection of chocolates for gifting.
Weve done their tour two times now, bringing out of town guests each time. Its not a huge store or a huge factory, but the quality of the chocolate and service definitely make it a place to visit in the Seattle area. Weve had so much fun during both tours. The tour guides really enjoy their job and love to answer questions. You learn about chocolate from the farm to the production line and beyond. And who doesnt love tasting samples of chocolate from beginning to end (if you dont, then this tour is not for you). In fact, you get to try samples of their chocolate even before the tour begins. The store is very generous in letting you try before you buy, which has led to us buying flavors we probably wouldnt have bought otherwise. The cost of the tour is affordable, plus you get 10% off of your purchase when you turn in your comment card at the end of the tour. One thing to keep in mind: the production line only makes chocolate Monday through Thursday, and, at times, they may be done with production at the time of your tour. So, if you care about seeing the machines in action, call before you make your reservation. The store staff were so helpful during our last visit, especially our guide Chris, trying to make it the best experience for us.
The staffs were friendly and kind.Great varieties of chocolates.
Did the chocolate tour which was very informative and you get to try a lot of their chocolates. Inventive flavors and lots of options for every palette. Yum!
I like their chocolate my only problem is the chocolate is not tempered properly. Are used to work at a chocolate factory and when your chocolate has a glaze of white on it it means the temperature wasn’t done correctly. And I feel like this is with all of their chocolate.
They have a wide variety of chocolates, and offer plenty of samples. I went in to get a coworker a small gift and Nick made a number of suggestions, very upbeat and helpful. Purchased a small variety and gift was well received. Ill be going back for myself soon. They also offer tours of their factory. They are a bit pricey, but still a great place for a last minute gift for a chocolate lover. Plenty of free parking is also a plus.
Great selection, I wanted literally everything. And the stuff I had tried was great.
