Recently I went to Backwoods to get some hiking shoes. This is my first time purchasing some and the manager, Richard, was extremely helpful. (He even was friendly towards my spazzy 6 year old that was with me!) We were there for at least an hour and he had me try on multiple pairs of shoes until we got just the right set. They have a good selection of a hiking shoes along with many other types of outdoor equipment. I definitely recommend visiting for your specialty outdoor needs.

We were looking for help with walking/trekking shoes and socks for an upcoming trip. The fellow that helped us for very knowledgeable and did a great job explaining different options available. He didnt push any particular product other than explaining features and comparisons. Based on what we saw at places like Academy and Dicks pricing was reasonable. We walked out with very comfortable shoe/sock combinations. Id recommend Backwoods to anyone looking for quality, reliable equipment and especially if you need so education.

I called right before close today and had the pleasure of speaking with Logan about some local fly fishing beta. This guy is a rockstar. He was extremely friendly, helpful, and professional. You could tell he was passionate about the sport and is knowledgeable about the area. I highly recommend any angler in town to drop a line here and see if you can grab his ear for the skinny. Hell put you on some good stuff!

Interesting selection of hiking, camping, and fly fishing gear. Prices are reasonable for the gear being sold, but definitely not cheap stuff. Nice to see a decent selection of flies in Tulsa. Friendly and helpful staff as well.

A great place to go to find equipment you need for the outdoors. All the stuff is Gourmet here and Patty was a great guide in helping us find the correct gear.

Friendly staff as they greet you about every time you come in the door. They run huge deals at least twice a year. Ive found shoes up to 75% off in the past. Not bad. Theyre a smaller chain so the prices are a bit steeper than bigger chain outdoor focused stores. Id rather support the smaller guy. Worth a visit.

Got my first pair of Chacos here and let me say they’re perfect. Anyways one of the employees help me the whole time and was incredible nice. The store is put together very well everything is very easy to find. If you are going on a trip of some sort and are doing any camping or hiking this is the store to go to.

One of the more expensive places in town, but the service is top notch.I visited twice and spent over 3 hours with them before buying. They fit me with the perfect hiking pack and boots. They also answered every question I could think of.Highly recommended!

During a recent 3-day hiking trip with 10 other friends to the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge near Lawton, OK, we got to comparing notes about our equipment. Come to find-out, the Backwoods store outfitted several of us with backpacks, clothes and other gear.The consensus was unanimous - the service and expertise of the Backwoods staff was superb!The service provided in fitting the backpacks, and other gear is well worth the price difference from online retailers. Dont believe me? Try carrying a 40-pound backpack for 3 days. Youll be glad you bought your gear from the Backwoods!

Quality products with knowledgable employees that have been there done that. If youre a person who believes, you get what you pay for then burn your money here..

Really love the staff and customer service but if youre looking for the one off or specialty item this may not be the place for you. They have a very good selection of your mainstream products but if youre looking for stove parts or particular camping gear you may be out of luck. Really the only thing holding me back from rating the store hiring is their price match policy, if they would simply match reasonably priced Amazon or REI items I would do so much more business with them.

If you love the outdoors you got to check this place out. I personally have purchased over 2k of climbing gear from hear. They keep three different size ropes in stock and assorted climbing gear.

A true outfitter that can equip you for high adventure with excellent quality gear. I still use my Dana Design backpack and Vasque Sundowner boots I bought here 20 years ago.
