The entire process was great. I had a lot of questions and I was able to get a quick response every time . The original person I started working with was off a couple days and they had someone else step up and handle all my questions. Great team work and the final purchase process was so easy. I drove a little over a 100 miles to come get my truck. They had it ready upon my arrival and the paperwork was all set as well. Great experience, I will send friends and family to them for sure.

I purchased a service package when I bought my vehicle. When serviced the technician failed to tighten the drain plug. When I called to explain what had happen they asked me to tow it in and gave me GM roadside instead of helping provide a tow. Ultimately there was damage to my engine and Smith has failed to make it right 5 months later. I was given the run around by the service manager and a month later still did not receive a phone call from him on the next steps they were going to take and I had to make contact with them in order to receive any information on the truck. I do not recommend anyone have vehicle worked on there. I have zero trust or faith in their ability to fix vehicles correctly. In April of 2021 ( 5 months after this disaster began) I decided to contact GM Corp. to help resolve the issue and after working with them for two months I was told I would need to work with the dealer directly to resolve the issue. Because of Smith Chevrolets inability to handle their business in a professional manner ( in particular their service manager Mike) I have now been force to retain legal counsel to resolve this issue. The decision is obviously yours, but if you are not willing to or do not have the financial means to hold this dealership legally responsible I suggest you look elsewhere. There are great dealerships in Modesto and Merced that have since taken care of me and from what Ive seen they seem to employ people who are knowledgeable and TRUSTWORTHY which is something I can assure you will not find in your dealings with Smith Chevrolet at any level. Please understand that any response to this post from this dealership is simply lip service to try to save face, but the bottom line is you are on your own.

Where to begin with this embarrassment of a dealership. First of all the customer service is some of the worst I have ever experienced. The salesman named Gabe is not a trustworthy person at all and was trying everything in his power to not sale me a truck and work with me. Many of the credit bureaus you request to apply for, they ignore and go to “their” guy which is very concerning. Don’t really know what their intentions are at the dealership because it’s not to sale cars or trucks. The finance manager would not print out a solid proposal for the total truck price with my trade in and 800 credit score. They were treating me very disrespectful the entire time and believe it or not, the salesman named Gabe began arguing with me in the lobby stating I told him details about my truck that I never said. It was embarrassing to be treated like that in a place of business. Never have I’ve been so insulted. I really believe that they are not the most intelligent as Gabe would repeat things I told him about three times and kept assuming I told him things I never said. Things are not as what they seem they are on the surface as a lot of shady stuff was occurring while there.

Buying a new car is usually a tedious process, but we enjoyed working with Gabriel and the staff at Smith Chevrolet. We purchased an Equinox from them some years ago and we drove the extra miles to use their services again. My wife and I are senior citizens who still have fun kibitzing (that means we engage in light hearted conversation), and Gabriel played along with us. It was fun, Gabriel. Everyone is very nice, however I have a small complaint of something that was a bit disappointing. I came to have oil change and tires rotated. It was written on the bill that the tires were rotated. Fortunately, I thought to ask how the tires looked. The service man said they were NOT rotated because they are now worn and it would not be beneficial to rotate them. I need new tires soon. Could that not be stated on my service bill or told to me in person!?! I could have left thinking tires were just fine.

We went in to check on which truck we could like to buy. They had a lot to choose from but they only had 1 Chevy Silverado LTZ. Which was the big winner for us. The sale assistant was so helpful and answered every question we had. He was clear when explaining the monthly payments as well as what the whole promotion.I will definitely go back!

Extremely horrible. I bought a 2017 Silverado with 12,000 in extra warranties. Jason Curl the general manager took away a loaner vehicle and let me leave the lot in my truck. Issue is, there’s a manufacturer recall on the brake booster. I initiated this issue back in November 2020. I have personal text showing that I’m telling Jason about the problem. When Jason let me leave the lot in my truck the service tech and service manager were fired cause they lied and said they checked the brake issue themselves. A Mechanic in front of the 2 service techs, Jason Curl and I stated there is no reason to perform the tests. It’s a recall. But still performed the test and it showed no breaks. As the General Manager it’s your responsibility to ensure the safety of your customers. Especially with a recall and it being the breaks.Separate issue. Wheel snaps off In parking lot. Causes me to collide with another vehicle. They state the impact caused it. That’s absolutely incorrect. The will snapping off caused the collision at 5 mph. The red flag is Jason Curl tells me to tell GM that the break caused all this. So he wants me to lie. This isn’t a dome light not working. This is something that could take a life. And GM needs to her the truth. It could be another recall issue. I’ve been without a vehicle since Easter Day. You buy a truck from Smith Chevrolet and pay tons extra for warranties. To walking everywhere and calling for rides. 50,000 dollar truck that was paid pretty much in full. Cashiers check. And now they want to tow it to my house and nothing is done by Larry Smith and General Manager Jason Curl4:45 PM 6/4/21 John EtchellsYou strive for excellence?? Well first off, if that’s the case. Which owner are you? Larry or Gary? Don’t be afraid to stand up. So your telling me your going off of your opinion. So an opinion is worth more then a life to you these days. I’m definitely not going off opinion. I’m providing facts. Paperwork, emails and text to and from your General Manager Jason Curl. in November and December of 2020 and its June 2021. No Brakes and a recall issue is definitely not an opinion. General Motors clearly says fact. But if you feel like riding this merry go round, I’m all in. I’ve only barely started to provide facts. I purchased my Impala at your dealership & have always had good service. No problem. This last time i brought my Colorado in for servicing that I purchased at a different dealership. When I got in my truck to leave I noticed that the tire pressure hadnt been checked and was very low. They did take it back in and put the proper air in the tires but am now wondering what else didnt get checked In the short time it was in for servicing. I live 1 1/2 hrs away and it snows here. I need to know that my vehicle is safe

Worst experience ever had! We bought a Ford Mustang from this dealer and they sold me faulty car first day when come out drive like 50 miles after purchased engine lights comes up then return back to dealer had to leave car for repair with them more than month for repair its cost $16k which absolutely unfair even they sold me car without detailing not clean car had clean myself at home when I took from them still after repair car in not good condition!! Call them again explain the situation they told We already done so much for you I told them I already purchased extended warranty from you I paid everything now they refused to fix my car they told me take your to Ford dealership which is completely wrong now Ford dealer told me it’s cost again $1800 dollars to fix a car all employees from this dealership not helpful very bad service ever had in my life!! I will not bring my Cadillac here again. I had and 8:30 a.m. appointment for an oil change and dropped it off around 8:15/20. I came back at around 0930 and my vehicle was sitting out in the parking lot, untouched. I was told it would be at least another 45 minutes until they will have a bay open. I looked in the garage and there was at least one bay open. I called the Service Manager Mike, he said he doesnt know whats going on, he will look into. To you, Mike, of course you dont know whats going on, if you did, your service department wouldnt be getting any complaints. Guess what, customers vote with their feet by going elsewhere. Hopefully somebody will take heed that reads this and fix your poor customer service issues.

This was a absolutely horrible experience for me and my family, we were in on Sunday to start the process of buying a new car, we were really impressed with the customer service and the atmosphere, they told us what we needed to do on our end and we were happy, today was a different story all together, when we got there we had a different person on the financing side then we had on Sunday who seemed to not have a clue what he was doing, there was no real personable experience as we found out that he was working another customer next to us and just bouncing back and forth, took a extremely long time to redo all the paperwork we did on Sunday due to not being organized on there end, when it was time to finish the deal he tells us that we need a additional 4k down and that our payments would be$150 more than stated on Sunday, when we asked for a reason why he said what we were told was a quote which doesnt make sense, which tells us that we were flat out lied to, there is no way that after my credit was run and told one thing then 3 days later it jumps over 4000 just in down payment that isnt a estimate, its a fraud, I will make sure to tell all my co workers and friends about this experience as I will never return here and I hope anyone who reads this listens to my warning, one star is to high of a rating for the experience my family and I had here,what a big waste of time and effort

Lied to! Salesman and manager were WELL AWARE of our situation. Spent over 2 hours on Sunday to be told we needed a well qualified cosigner and that would allow us to finance a family vehicle with $0 down. Asked a family member with excellent credit and went back on Wednesday to sign paperwork only to be told our payments would be $175 more than was quoted on Sunday and they needed $4500 down.
