We have been dealing with Murray-Heutz company for over 8 years. We leased a propane tank from them to use. Now that we no longer need the tank my husband called and had them remove it. They have sent us a bill for $118.00 to remove the tank. It is THEIR TANK not ours. Trying to get someone to talk with about it is like pulling teeth. We fulfilled our part of the contract but they want to still charge us. DO NOT DEAL WITH THEM.

I used Murray-Heutz for many years and my only regret is that after selling my house, they will not be servicing the area I am moving to. I had less than satisfactory service with 2 other oil companies who shall remain nameless, due to fact I had a long driveway. Murray-Heutz flew up that driveway unflinchingly like a champ for years and took care of me. I will forever be grateful, and will always highly recommend them. They wont let you down. Wonderful service!!!

The install of our propane tanks was done in a very professional manner. Had to come back to hook our small stove in the dining room, which was also done with the same professional manner. Two minor issues, one they forgot to do an initial fill of our tanks and secondly when they came back to hook up out small stove they turned the gas off to our generator ad neglected to turn it back on when they completed the work on the small stove. As a result we had two default alarms when the generator failed to exercise at the appropriate time during the week.All is well now.

I am an independent tank owner so I am not tied down to any one company. I have used many companies over the past several years. By far Murray-Heutz has been my favorite propane supplier. When you call you actually speak with a live person without having to navigate through a menu of options. The employees who answer the phone are extremely friendly and knowledgable. As an example, when I was expecting a delivery, I called that day to get as narrow a window as possible. The person I spoke to narrowed it down to +/- 25 minutes. The delivery person was also very friendly and obviously capable. The price was excellent. They dont nickel and dime you with extra fees - hazmat, on-call delivery, etc. The web site is intuitive and thorough. You can set up auto pay if you wish. I plan to use this company the next time I fill my tanks if the price is again competitive, even if they cost a little more than the competition.

This company is actually a joy to work with. They are so super nice on the phone and they answer the phone instead of putting you through a phone loop. Im having a house built and needed new service. I spoke to Two other companies prior to discovering Murray . Those companies were absolutely awful to deal with. Murray was such a relief that theres still great customer service that exists in the world today. Not only that but I was shocked when I got the installation bill and it was very very affordable. I know for a fact as well that their rates are much lower than the other companies because I talked to a new neighbor. That neighbor is now switching to Murray and will save about $1,000 on his propane bill this year. From first phone contact to the installer calling me to my installation bill, I have all good things to say about Murray.

They were awesome getting propane set up for our new gas stove and flexible with scheduling so we would have a working stove shortly after delivery. This is a TOP NOTCH Company! Murray-Heutz installed our heating system in our new home, fantastic work ethic & super friendly employees. Their pricing was competitive and also pointed out differences between what we needed, some other quotes were overselling their products and services and others were underselling. When you need Propane, Routine Service or Emergency Service (which we Thankfully havent needed) there is always a friendly, helpful voice on the other end of the phone. Their attention to detail sets them apart. We are GLAD we chose them.

The technician who came to my home was friendly and informative. He even gave me information on other services the company offers that I wasn’t aware of. My driveway is also not the easier to maneuver, every delivery was on time and communication was great. So happy to have great service and support a small company.

I was impressed with Russell’s fast replies (even on the weekend) and getting us on the schedule so quickly. Mike and his team did a great job and the new system looks lovely and performs amazingly (quiet too!). You can tell they really care about the work they do. I felt that they also did an exceptional job in trying to keep our house as clean/orderly/undamaged during the job. I like that. I have found this company to have good customer service during my Generator installation. They arrived at the installation and everything went off without a hitch. Murray-Heutz has been our fuel provider for much of the sixty year history of Camp Berea on Bear Pond. We have never had any problems with their service. In fact, they have been quick to respond to any needs we have had.Whether it be to make an emergency delivery or trouble-shoot a suspected leak or make repairs to our equipment. The company installed a new larger volume water heater when ours failed. They installed and maintained a Rennai heater in the third floor apartment. Ever since my wife and I moved to the Lewiston-Auburn area, we have been fortunate enough to be customers of Murray-Heutz. From prompt auto-delivery of heating oil when our tank reaches the point it needs filling, to friendly and knowledgable service, we feel quite valued as customers.

Murray-Heutz was spot-on in providing a propane tank .. carefully ... through our garden and into its allotted slot. Very friendly personnel.

I wouldn’t even give them one star if that was an option. They are hands down the rudest, most manipulative company I’ve ever dealt with. We had a cap for 500 gallons. They were NOT supposed to go over that without letting us know and us giving them permission to deliver more. We randomly ended up owing them $2,000 because they delivered oil pretty much every other week completely ignoring the fact we had a cap on how much was supposed to be delivered. I called to see if we could be taken off auto delivery, which they did and to see if we could just keep paying our usual monthly payment until it was paid off. They told me absolutely not and I needed to come up with the entire thing up front. Obviously we didn’t have that money as we just had a baby and were trying to find a new place to live. I told them this when they would call me 5 times a day while I was at work. Eventually they stopped calling and I hadn’t heard from them in a few months. I randomly get a letter in the mail telling me they’re going to send it to collections and report it to the credit agencies. It was NOT my fault we went over that much and their whole excuse was “you would have ran out of oil” okay, well I would have known what I needed to pay for instead of getting a surprise 2k bill. I ended up calling as soon as I got that letter and the woman was completely disrespectful telling me “I’m not going to have you not taking responsibility. You should have looked at your statements” like no, YOU should have honored the cap you set for me! Then she told me I should have budgeted better etc. Complete B**** . I’m about to get a lawyer at this point.

We hear you, JAM Communications. We are taking our business elsewhere this year. We purchased an expensive boiler from Heutz, who has serviced it annually (plus another boiler at our other home) until this year. We were told they no longer provide service unless a customer buys oil from them. Well, we already bought our oil for this winter (at a better price than M-Hs). Were confident we can find a dependable company -- who values their long-term customers -- that can provide the same service -- or better.

Have used only one oil company -HEUTZ. My parents used them for decades. Does not get any better than Murray-Heutz

My boiler replacement was completed in three total days as promised and the technicians were knowledgeable and efficient and worked together to get the job done with minimal loss of hot water. The moving subcontractor they hire to remove the old boiler were fast and efficient as well. I would recommend all the workers if I had to do it again.

Bruce is very professional and genuine. We almost invited him to join us for lunch after he set our oven up for us (converted it to liquid propane). He was informative and clear about safety and how to run our new oven. He was a pleasure to have in our home. He also is an animal lover which was a plus since our cat wouldn’t leave us alone and our four dogs loved him so much. He even asked to meet them (outside of their cages) at the end of his visit. Bruce is precisely one of the many reasons why we switched our fuel company from Winthrop fuel to Murray-Heutz Oil and Propane. I have been with Murray for years and have had what I need done nothing exceptional. They have serviced my furnace in Turner for 9 years. I used to buy oil from them until price went too high and couldnt afford their outrageous prices. But trying to still give my business by having them service me. The last 2 times I have had one of my properties serviced my furnace all the sudden doesnt work. This happened this week. I have already paid the bill for the service. I called to say that 2 days after the service the furnace was not working and would trip the breaker. I was told that we would not be priority because we do not buy our oil there. AFTER I HAD ALREADY PAID. And for future reference we would not even be serviced. If this was their policy they should have said that before I had even called for service for the last 9 years. This company is a joke. I am never one to write a review and always give the benefit of the doubt to everyone because things happen. Like last year when they came to service another furnace of mine and didnt have all the parts to do the whole thing and were supposed to be back with in a few days and never showed up. My furnace was working so I didnt want to make a big deal of it. But to be told when my furnace is not working which it was working fine before they serviced it that we are not a priority is bull s###. Be cautious if you want to use this company even if you have for years give your money to a business who actually cares about the quality of work they do and the people they take care of.
