This is one of the cleanest, well-stocked, conveniently located next to a state park convenience stores and gas stations that I’ve ever seen. The owners are locals and run the shop. They have a good selection of fishing gear including tackle, worms and fresh catfish bait, firewood and groceries and sundries.

This place is a pleasant surprise. They have delicious gelato and a freezer with local grass fed beef for sale, and a wide variety of necessary grocery items if you’re camping. The staff were friendly and cheerful, and the bathrooms were clean.

I stopped by to get some gelato and fudge. I had been here before and it was pretty good. This time both the fudge and gelato tasted old and stale. The walnuts in the fudge were very stale, musty tasting. The nuts and marshmallows in the gelato were stale and tough. They may not get a lot of turn over, so they leave everything out for a long time. I happened to be in the area this time and thought it would be a nice treat, but I’m very disappointed. I don’t think I’ll buy either of these things again. They aren’t cheap, and definitely not worth the money. I really hate that the quality has fallen off so much.

First off, the store has always been a 5 star for me until recently....Recently I came a couple of times in two different occasions for some of that famous gelato ice cream that has always satisfied my taste buds. However, the last couple of time something was wrong. The banana-nut was my first bad experience. Its been a couple of months since that mishap. The nuts were ROTTEN, STALE or OLD. At this time, I had already left with my pint that I paid around $13-$14 dollars for. When I got home, the gelato seemed like it had been slightly melted and refrozen a few times over. Kinda like when you leave half gallon of blue bell in the freezer for a long time, it starts to create this ice crystal crunch texture. This has never happened before. Its like the new lady that makes the gelato there doesnt care. Mike(the owner) would never let this happen. I would tell him, but I never see him anymore. My most recent trip to try the gelato again was not as bad, somethings changed. I waited until I could try it again before leaving this review. The fudge was my second bad experience... same thing with the nuts in the fudge.I dont think I will be coming here again.
