Weve been coming here since they opened and it just keeps getting better. Today Tony and Willow took excellent care of us. They were very knowledge of the menu and able to help us pick my kids favorite options. The menu has something for everyone! With 4 kids, its hard to find a place where everyone can get someone and be happy. From burgers to hotdogs, nuggets, perfectly cooked, crisp on the outside, fluffy in the inside fries, onion rings, and my favorites fried mushroom and zucchini. We can even do dessert with shakes and floats. If you havent been here yet then you dont know what youre missing. Its time to come give them a try.
Food and service is always good. Fairly pricey but worth it for the freshness and unique menu items. My go to is the fried bologna, onion rings and a ginger ale. My daughter goes for burger and fries and my husband loves the shrimp basket and zucchini fries. Were always satisfied. The downside is it takes quite a while to get your order, even if you order ahead online.
What a wonderful experience I had here, for the first time in my life I’m writing a review because the service and food here was phenomenal. I had Austin as my server and what a kind gentleman he was. He always made sure i was okay and wondered if i needed anything at all times. What a great young man he is not to mention the food was out of this world!!!
It is a drive-in. So, a car hop came and took our order. They bring your food back to your car carryout ready. You can choose to eat in your car or carry it to wherever you choose to dine. We ate there in our car. The Galley Boy is my favorite. We had onion rings and fried zucchini sticks. Everything was delicious! And dont forget the milkshakes!!! I choose strawberry this time, but you can mix flavors. So much fun!
This was the Galley boy that they gave me when I placed my online order last week. 2 pieces of meat with cheese and pickles, ketchup and lettuce every where. No bread at all then I was missing the entire shrimp basket. They motivated me to never leave another restaurant without checking my bags. I dont even want my money back. I asked for a manager to email me back and never received a response so I just wont go back and I will forever share this pic of the so called Galley burger that just went all wrong!!!
The first two times we came it was great, but the last 4 times have just been terrible. Poorly put together food and attitude from staff if a tip is not as much as they would like. Most likely will not be coming back. I dont need to be treated poorly to then eat messy and carelessly assembled fast food.
Yvette has been our waitress a few times and she always has great enthusiasm and energy. Great server!
Today i came to the swensons in University Heights in a terrible mood. Who would’ve known that a server could be so friendly and really help me get through my day. John was the nicest boy I’ve ever i countered and he was so polite. He also seems very good at his job considering he listed off every shake flavor in 30 seconds.
This location rarely gets my order right. They had me waiting a very long time for an order I placed well ahead of time. Like 20 minutes before pickup. I dont know if they are maybe short staffed during a rush but there needs to be a bit more organization/time management
I went here as there is none in NY. It is drive-in only. There is no dinning table. You order from your car and they will give it to you. Although the burger is not as big comparing other fast food burger places. It tastes good. I had a Sloppy Joe, Potato Teezers, Fried Mushrooms & Fried Zucchini. They are great excep the Zucchini, I felt the zucchini a little bit too thin. They are not that expensive at all.
Old school drive in diner!! Amazing fun experience.. Glorious burgers and shakes! Sides are a little small for the cost. Pull in, turn off lights. When ready to order turn your lights on so the staff know to come get your order.
Let me just say wow totally impressed with the two cats serving us at our car these guys didnt miss a beat. food came out fast couldnt complain about anything even if I wanted to if youre going out for something to eat and need good fast service this is the place to do it. And I couldnt figure out which milkshake to try so he turned us on to the peanut butter hot fudge it was out of this world
Busy parking lot, but they were very quick to take my order. Also they were quite fast with my food and my order was accurate. The food was fair priced and delicious. Be aware that the sizes run small, but they are reasonably priced for their size. Will definitely be returning to try other items on their menu.
I love that there’s a Swensons right by my home in University Hts! I go about once a week, often coming home from my shift as an ER nurse. I went tonight and had excellent service from Dan! Everyone should be tipping these hard-working guys and gals!
This is the worst fast food restaurant I have ever eaten. I waited for 20 minutes for made to order food that came out cold, not what I ordered and horrible tasting! I asked for a burger with the works bacon, lettuce, tomato, pickles, grilled onions, ketchup, mustard. Instead I received a burger with grilled onions and fresh onions, cheese and pickles, no condiments. The hamburger meat was disgusting it taste like it had liver mixed in it ; worse burger I’ve ever had. I got cold fries and cold onion rings. I got a peanut butter milk shake that had no peanut butter, no peanut butter flavoring. Although I didn’t like the milkshake I paid for an 8oz Styrofoam cup with filled with a underwhelming peanut milkshake. If I could have written this review with no stars I would have give no stars. Save your time and your money and go home a cook. What a waste of my time and a waste of space.
Best drive-in chain Ive been to. The pumpkin milkshake and galley boy are a combo made in heaven. Phenomenal staff, fast and friendly!
First and foremost the service is excellent!! those guysare friendly and really hustle to get you your food as soon as it is done!! You would think with the fast service that the food probably isnt good but youre wrong!! the food here is excellent they have a very good shakes man!!!! To be honest you can make this trip by yourself with your buddy your significant other or pack up the dog and kids because its a friendly environment and everyone will appreciate an old style pull up Drive-In!!!!
Overall fantastic experience, the boys working were very good at their job. Unbelievable customer service, anything I asked for was brought to me very quickly. Fine young gentlemen, all in very good shape to be running all day like that. Specifically, Tony, was very nice and helped me out a lot. What a great guy

First, its only a step above fast food. However, its not bad. Its open late, fun to watch the kids who work there run around the parking lot. The shakes are good. I would give it a 5 but sometimes they are out of stuff. Last night they were out of chicken and ice cream so no shakes. Headlights on for service!

I really enjoyed My experience at this Swensons location. I am a swensons lover and enjoy going to different ones in the area. This was by far the best location I have been at yet. I had Sai as my server and he did a wonderful job getting my order correct and out fast. They food was delicious, I had a great time, I recommend this location to everyone!
I absolutely love coming here!! It’s always a great time and a great experience. The first time I came I had a server named Connor and he was so so nice to me and my friends as it was our first time and we didn’t really know what we were doing. He talked to us about all the different things on the menu, what he recommends, and it was very great and comforting! The food was all correct and tastes amazing! Will definitely be a go to spot from now on.
The kinda buff dude with black hair, was on top of everything, I hadnt even put my van in park yet and he was on the way, very respectful and a pleasure to talk to, my food was hot, and very neatly put together
This was my first time at the University Heights Swensons. The service was great, but the food, not so much.The cheeseburgers were overcooked and dry, and the fries were cold. The chocolate shake and onion rings were good.

First off we sat for almost 30 minutes without ordering. Everyone that arrived after us received there food before us and they acted like they couldn’t see us.we never even got to order. This was my first time there and i can truly say that I probably would never get to place that order
Swensons is a great place to get a quick bite to eat of actually good food and the atmosphere is great. My server Kate was amazing and made sure the entire experience was amazing. A+ review from me for both the service and food.
I picked up a late dinner for my family here last night. The service was incredible. Jon was very polite taking my order, and I was highly impressed watching all the servers sprint to cars. It only took 10 minutes for me to get my food and it was delicious! Will be back

The time-frame for receiving order wasnt the best but the food was cooked well and customer service was decent. The waiter went to other people that pulled up after me twice and the last customer informed them and they did apologize.

I called my ores in at 9:30, pulled up at 10 pm, with my lights on and watched for two hours every car get served before me. I called inside and called the servers and they said the were getting my food. Just one galley burger and fry. Next thing you know the parking lot was clear and they turned the lights off. No one ever came with my food. I will never waste my time going there again.
Let me just say, never had such an amazing experience at a drive in before. The way these workers sprint from car to car and bring it all out there everyday to serve the people is just awesome to witness. A+ A+ A+
Can take a long time but the food is good. They have better milkshakes than some of these ice cream spots.
They took my order but never brought it out to the car for over 25 minutes. They said it was because it was a door dash pickup order but the name was clearly on the bag. If places are going to try and be fun and corky about their pickup style, it helps to get it right. Just have a drive through like the rest of America.
The food is alright. They gone up on the food not really worth the raised due to the food being average. Rather curious it appears all the African-Americans work in the kitchen. Never seen an Hispanic or African-American working outside as a server. Makes you wonder about the organization ethical policies.
You remain in the car and they come out to you. You have to turn on the headlights. Good is okay. Fun experience 😁

I had an ongoing case with Corporate about this location after they took over 2 hours to provide me with my online order that I had already waited one of those hours at home before going per their pickup time. No one ever got back to me and the service was below 1-star. I was a regular since this place opened and have not been back since.
Its like a 1950s drive up diner. The servers actually run to the cars. The burgers are comparable to Steak and Shake. The shakes are excellent.
Dillon was an amazing server, very friendly courteous and personable. He was easily able to explain the different food choices to me and made my decision very easy. Amazing experience!
Tony had great service for me a couple times I’ve gone!! Zero complaints, always have the pleasure of knowing the workers will be polite and get my order down quickly. I’ve also never had my food order done wrong🤩🤩
Actually been there twice I wanted to try their veggie burger but when I got it the burger was really soggy so I wanted to see if the second time would be better it was only do the fact Id ask them for a better one this time and got it but they refried the fries because I asked for them to be hot ! I guess when Covid started many wish they would return to work While going out to different places Im noticing people dont want to work they act like you the customer are bothering them and when you complain about the service you get even worse service another place not to go is bw3 on Richmond the staff is late and doing what they want and the boss is right their without the business of customers like me theyd be wondering where thenext job is at TREAT THE PEOPLE WHO GIVE YOU BUSINESS WITH RESPECT YOU GET PAID TO DO YOUR JOB .!Someone IS ALWAYS WATCHING EVEN WHEN YOU DONT CARE TO PAY ATTENTION 🙄 !!!!!
Swensons is one of my favorite places to stop when visiting family around the area! I had an amazing experience with outstanding service. The one boys name was Tony, super excellent guy who made my day while visiting!
After 15 years of consistently eating Swensons, the cedar road location has made me call it quits. Never again. You guys are the worst!
The service is always amazing!! If you like affordable, classic American fare... You should do well with Swensons. Regardless of how crowded or busy they are, you will always get top notch service.
Food is great staff are friendly and the try to get your food to you in a hurry.
I love hamburgers and french fries. I always have since l was a teenager. Their is the best hamburger lve had for some time now. I love the drive-in fifties theme. Their service is quick, mannerable and they go to great lengths to insure you had a great experience. I stop by Swensons at least 3 times a week. I suggest you try it out for yourself. Lydia
I arrived at the restaurant at little before midnight. Parked in the front of the building (facing the building) had my car running and my highbeams on. I was there for 45 min The servers continued to walk past me as if I was not there. Every one on both the left and right of me and even behind me was served and I was not. This was my first and last time going to Swensons. Terrible service. I wish I could give it 0 stars because I was never able to place my order
Your management is terrible when ever I order you get it wrong I say no cheese you give me cheese. Your online orders are terrible, a 5 y/o could do a better job managing you guys.
Website says open until 1am. Google says open until 1:30am. Arrived at 11:45pm and not one single person came out. Multiple cars pulled in and still nothing. Called and someone hung up on me after I said Id like to place an order. A fellow car walked up and they said they were closed. Disappointed they were closed, even more disappointed in the lack of customer service.
The Salad Boy is a great vegetarian option! Service can be kinda slow but its worth the wait!

Let me start by saying, I have never been to a Swenson’s ever before. Heard of them, but never been. Late night, trying to find something eat, decide that our best option is Swenson’s. So as we pull up to the university heights location, to see a full parking lot and a bunch of workers SPRINTING around the parking lot taking orders and running food. We pulled in, messed up the headlight situation (turn them on when your ready to order), and that’s when Dillon enters the picture. This guy stops mid shift/sprint to come over explain us the rules, answers some questions about the menu all while being super respectful. Dillon shows up again like 30 seconds after we turn our headlights back on, patiently fields more questions, and then continues to sprint to put the orders in. John came by again to make sure we didn’t need anything else while we waited too. Don’t get me wrong, the food was super good. There’s a reason the galley boy burger has some national recognition. But the reason I’ll return, and tell everyone about Swenson’s, is exclusively the customer service that the establishment provides. The team, specifically Dillon, did such a good job that I felt it was necessary to write a review.

I love this place! Only reason I give 4 stars is because almost everytime I get shrimp they give me some other sauce instead of cocktail.

Swensons is a great, quick place to grab quality fast food. The Galley boy and milkshakes are 10/10. The service is amazing, always so friendly, fast, and accommodating. Connor especially is a great server who goes above and beyond for his customers, I hope to have him again soon. Overall swensons is always the move with great prices.

Great food. Fish sandwiches are golden and crispy. There’s no salt on fires however, which doesn’t bother me. Customer service is fantastic.

Definitely a destination spot. They are so serious about your head lights. Ive never seen servers RUN like they do. Its interesting just to watch them. They are so eager, its cool to see. My burger was good, nothing amazing. The bun was really good, its my understanding they are made fresh daily for them. This is most definitely a place to check out if you are in the area of one.

First time here, and I was AMAZED!!!!! The burgers are scrumptious, the tater tots are on point, and the milkshakes are the best Ive ever had!!! We ordered 1 Large Caramel Shake, but we received 2, but that doesnt bother me, because 2 is better than 1!! I cant wait for the one in Willoughby to open, cause I will be visiting there A LOT!!!!

Been 30 minutes, still no food. Restrooms are horrible, no TP. It’s all good though, no wipe, no wash. Would never return here.

Service is very good. One of the girls noticed we had local memorabilia and started talking about that area with us. Very welcoming despite the fact that it was raining on her. Service was also fairly quick. Great variety of shakes and excellent prices.We ordered a couple galley boys, a double cheeseburger, their fish dinner, some fried mushrooms, fries, a pineapple shake, and a mocha shake. All of it was decent. Nothing stood out as a WOW factor as much as their prices and service. The mocha shake tasted like one from Arbys. The mushrooms you could probably get at a grocery store and fry at home. The pineapple shake had actual chunks of pineapple in it, so thats a plus. And the fries werent overly salted.Presentation could be neater but for the price you pay? You get a pretty good meal on the go with great customer service.
I went one night. I had a very important presentation the next day and One of the workers (Colin) came up to my car asking what i would like to eat. I had told him i had an important day and ask him for something that would resemble that day. He said “i got you!” With a glad face! When he came out with the bag I was so excited to try a bite. Not only did he capture the goodness of what I had wanted, but he also made it delicious. By far best experience ive had and would recommend everyone go to this Swensons establishment and as for Colin!

Good prompt service. The waiter was nice, the fried shrimp snack was good but the burger and fried chicken sandwich was very average.
This place is amazing! The food was great but the service was even better. My server was Willo and he was so nice and worked really hard!
The server came out and took our order quickly, but after waiting an hour for our order and watching people drive in and get their food, it was evident our order was forgotten. The second server was nice and apologetic and got our old right away, stating ours was one of the last ones taken during the rush. But how does it make sense to place new orders before ours? In any case, he apologized, we still paid full amount for the half cold food, and went on our way. The food was not impressive and the service definitely was not, so not coming back.
This is the worst Swensons location I’ve ever been too when I say I’ve gone over 10+ times because my girlfriend likes their food and they have NEVER once made my order correct or in a timely fashion I wait an average of 30 mins per vist even when I call ahead and the only things they say is “oh the cooks lost the ticket” this store really needs to do better if my girl didn’t like this food I would never come back to this restaurant location it’s just pitiful. You want good Swensons with good service just bite the bullet and drive to Kent
Very poor customer service and after the bad experience was asked about a tip the nerve.A friend and I placed an order asked for the bill to be split was told you have to begin the order with that information as if he couldnt rewrite the tithe ticket next we asked if the order could be separated and the response was the same guess the waiter was annoyed received our order with several open containers of ranch purposely open in the bag we know this because they had no lids . Lost my business forever SMH.
I went there a few day,s after it open, and was surpised by the good fast service, and good food!
Took 30mins for someone to come wait on us and then was rude and wouldnt even let us finish our order. We ended up having to leave.
I hadnt tried the new place yet so I decided to place an online order and give it a shot. The place was packed! It didnt help that half of the parking lot was closed off. Took me a while to get a space to park. There were maybe 4 car hops and they were all hustling and friendly. But they probably needed 2 or 3 more. Took around a long time to get someone over. He ran in and came back out with my order minus the shake. I showed him my order and he apologized and ran back in. A lot more time went by and another hop came by after I put my lights back on. He apologized again and ran to get it. All said and done, it took over 45 mins to pick up my order. One of the sandwiches was missing an extra I paid for. It was pretty apparent they dont have the staff to keep up with the quality that Swensons usually delivers. Everyone I spoke to tried hard though.
