This is such a fun place/activity! We did some axe throwing for my dads birthday. Everyone who works there is very nice and helpful. They are willing to help you figure out how to throw the axe and give you pointers. They provide you with some games that are super fun to play.. There is also another little game room that has some other larger than life board games. We participated in the glow and throw which was very fun! They have some beer and other drinks there for sale. I will definitely be returning!

My wife thought axe throwing would be a great option for a birthday get together. She was immensely right. Atmosphere was electric. Staff was helpful. Perfect date night.

A real comfortable Kickback place.Great for a night out with friends, couples & family.Atmosphere is really good, people are friendly.Beer, water & soda is available for purchase.I dont know the price my daughter pay for everything.But call, the staff is very helpful and very kind and understanding they will answer any questions.

This was an amazing experience. The staff was great (Thanks Miles!), the place was clean, they maintained the lanes, while we were there. A lounge area to chill with some free mini games to play. A little pricey, though the cost of wood is crazy these days so I cant really blame them. Definitely recommended

I recently went to my future brother-in-laws bachelor party at the Axe Lair and we had a great time. They have plenty of space for lots of different walk-ins or reservations. They have a small concession area where they sell refrigerated drinks like sodas, waters and some beers. You can pay $3 extra to upgrade your ax to a nicer heavier ax. They also have some light snacks. For anyone who gets burned out throwing axes they also have a small area off to the side where you can do some putting and cornhole. Its really easy to miss the sign on the street and its at the end of a residential neighborhood so make sure you go slow so you dont miss it. Otherwise Id highly recommend it.

Super fun! Had no idea this place was in upland. Its hidden, theres only one sign that I noticed that said axe lair. I wish theres a larger selection of beverages served. All in all I had fun🙂

A unique outing for an hour or two. I wont be going pro so after a hour the novelty had worn off. Great time having some beer with friends in a fun clean environment.

I thought this place would be different? How? I dont even know myself. When we got to this place, there was two guys at the front desk. There was a biggest set guy that was just plain rude. He asked if we had been there before and we said no. He pointed at the tablets and said sign the waivers. Ok. No welcome, or any information just a simple hang gesture and a long face. They sell beer there so we bought so drinks and waited not even 5 minutes. I cant remember the name of the employee that gave us the basics but he was amazing! He was a slimmer younger guy. The axe throwing was fun itself but you need to feel more welcome when its your first time somewhere. The bigger gentlemen seemed like he was not having a good day.

It was so fun! Adults or teenagers all have a blast. My younger sisters were extremely happy with the experience!

Super fun activity and certainly something different than the usual outing! The staff here are superb! Super nice and so helpful. They saw I was having trouble successfully throwing the axe so they came over and gave me some additional instructions. They also offered to help run us through some games to make the session even more fun. It’s a fun activity to do with the whole family.

The Axe Lair is a pretty cool place if you want to do something out of the ordinary. For just $20.00 an hour its like playing darts but with a throwing axe. You can set up tournaments with a large group or just play singles with your close buddy. And afterwards you can check out the local microbreweries in the area.

Ive been here twice. First time was great, we walked in and they had a cage ready to go for us after we signed waivers. Second time wasnt great. We called beforehand asking to make a reservation and they said we didnt need to and could walk in, but once we got there it was all booked up with about a 45 min wait so we left. We werent that far too, just up the road at Rad. Its fun! But make sure to make a reservation.

One of my new favorite places! I never knew axe throwing could be so fun! This place has giant Jenga and Connect Four, and a great prop area for picture opportunities. The customer service was great and this place is great! One hour would have been perfect for us. Two hours of throwing axes was a tad bit long, but still fun. 😆

I hope they get more things you can throw and more bar options. As is it gets repetitive after 20 minutes and booking an hour block is excessive.

Did the glow n throw and was pretty underwhelmed, the place was quite a bit more lit up then it looks like in the website, didnt even see a black light. Target were pretty banged up too. Probably needed to be switched out.

Michael was the one that helped us out. It was our first time, a group of 4 adults and a baby and he explained the rules so simple that even my 7 month old could understand. The experience was so much fun and I would recommend anyone one of my friend or family to just try it out. I would just like ti say that the customer service and the environment is what made me have such a good time. Michael was very polite and friendly and made the whole experience even better. I am definitely going to to be visiting again. P.s the giant connect 4 and the little hacky sac board game thing is free to play and you can even get a Polaroid picture taken. 5 stars for my first time visit.

We arrived as a walk-in. Staff was courteous place was clean. All the rules were explained and we had a great time. Im sure it gets really busy during prime hours so call ahead if youre going to be a walk in for a reservation bring a group youll have a blast.

Fun unique activity! The one hour slot went by really quickly. You definitely need some practice throws to get used to the whole concept, and then they have a binder with rules for different games you can try out! Finish the whole event off with a picture at a throne setup they have for that purpose.

Cool spot, a hour flies by pretty quick but it gets pretty hot in there. Probably the only gripe I have but otherwise than that, cool spot. The dude at the register shows you how to toss the axes so that was cool.

I love going here! The staff is friendly and now that its been open a while, its never too crowded, so you can just show up and start throwing. They also have a throne area to take pictures and they switch it up every now and then. Theyve added a blacklight throwing area too for a few extra dollars but Ive been happy enough with the regular lanes.

It was my husbands idea...Ive never done anything like this so I didnt expect it to be that much fun! We took the family (ages 2 to 88) and everyone loved it! The little one had room to safely run around outside the throwing cages (we took turns supervising and throwing) and they taught us how to throw so that even the oldest could stick that hatchet. They even showed fancy throws to those who mastered the basic one. I cant wait to go back! I am an old lady, but I got lucky and won one of the games! Great fun for anyone!!

Cool place friendly staff. Only down side was no food and alcohol sold. They have little snacks for sale. It does get hot in there. Was told they will be getting a liquor license soon :)

Good place. Make an appointment despite what the staff on the phone advises. They told us we didnt need to make an appointment, yet when we got there if became a 50 minute wait.

Had a great time, first timer. Played a couple different games, in our party of four. The girl there was super friendly, and helped with gaming and explained some options on game play, including the underhand throw.

Really great time here. The owner is great and the price aint too bad. Highly recommend to anybody that wants to break out those Scandinavian roots, whether theyre yours, or that one person you knew one time.

Everything about this place from the process of making a reservation, to the hospitality of the staff just makes throwing around hatchets that much more fun. The staff is very friendly and makes you feel like you are a veteran axe thrower even if its your first time. They really take the time to make sure you enjoy your experience. An example, my group and I caught on pretty quick, Im an Avid dart thrower and I felt it was easy to pick up the concept, but we noticed a couple behind us struggling to get the blades to stick. The staff simply walked over there and spent extra time with them on technical aspects of throwing which the really dont have to do. The place itself is awesome, I love the decor and the atmosphere it just gives you good vibes. The beverages are cheap (no alcohol, but I dont think axes and alcohol mix) water, Gatorade and tea are all around a dollar or two. I took my dad and brother and we had a blast. So much so that we will be going back regularly and were influenced to build a station of our own in the backyard which we are currently working on. All in all I highly recommend checking this place out. It is a unique and satisfying experience you wont regret!

Was visiting family for Thanksgiving and was told about the their opening weekend. Didn’t know what to expect because I honestly didn’t know it was a thing. Went in with an open mind & I came out blown away. It’s a great for date night, first date, girls night out, family outing, etc. I was asked from a female perspective if I thought that girls would like this. My answer is,”Hell Yeah!” If you’re competitive, like trying new things, have a pulse... you love this. At first you’ll feel awkward, especially when you miss the target completely. Once you get a feel for it and get in a flow, its all adrenaline from there. Highly suggest popping in and giving it a try! #axetheway

Good place to throw an axe. Id recommend going with a group of 3 or more. Its very small and can get repetitive, but with friends the fun can never end.
