I recently purchased a 2020 Honda CBR 300r from them and the whole process was very easy and streamlined. Loving the bike so far and the comfort of the warranty put on it as well. Not sure how their repair faculties are as I havent really had my bike in for repair yet, but the staff was friendly and happy to work with me.
I found sportland by reference from an OEM site, and worked with Jarod to purchase a CF MOTO 500. Great to work with, supplied me with all the information I needed, and made the whole purchase easy. I was able to check it all out and take it for a ride before loading it up. Everyone in the family is already having fun and we’re excited to get some riding in this summer!

Horrible experience, went to give my credit card info for them to place an order for my granddaughter’s helmet. Was told there were 3 left. A few phone calls later, no order placed. My daughter told them I would order it somewhere else. A week later the charge was still on my card. Called again, was told it took 7 to 14 days. At 14 days, got transferred to the person that was to place the order originally, very nasty attitude and told me he needed my credit card info to cancel the charge. Gave home the info, then he slammed the phone down. Still waiting to see the charge cancelled. NEVER GOING BACK!!
Told the salesman when I would be here which was an hour and a half before closing. Drove over an hour to get here and they are closed. Great work guys.

If youre buying a motorcycle, theyre great and they go above and beyond. Once the purchase is complete, the customer service and go getter attitude at Sportland stops in its tracks.The parts and service department is absolutely horrible! Worst attitudes and customer service I have ever had to deal with!If you get the (manager) taller guy with glasses, or the short guy (sorry, dont know their names), just know that your experience will be sub-par at best.1- star was only given because you have to, and the sales team does a good job, again, during the purchase process.

Motorcycle dealers have three functions: sales, parts, and service.Sales: I have purchased a motorcycle and a generator here. The prices are fair, no excessive fees, and they were very easy to deal with. The sales staff is knowledgeable and friendly.Parts: I buy tons of parts and accessories here. The guys at the parts counter are extremely helpful and knowledgeable. They know me by name and by bikes. Prices on accessories are very reasonable, this is not a stealership.Service: I have limited experience here as I do a lot of work myself. The few times I have used the service department, they have been quick and did a good job.In summary, this is one of the best dealers I have encountered.
Low stock during Covid-19 but John helped me find a bike and get it reserved over the phone. Very quick process with paperwork, paid the same price as discussed over the phone, great experience with Jason and the guys who helped out. Large variety of bikes and riding gear here. Id drive down from Chicago for another motorcycle in a heartbeat.

I walked in looked around and no one would speak to me. I walked around for about 15 mins with no one speaking to me. Walked through all 3 buildings. Was ready to test rice and put a down payment on something. So I’ll be taking my sale elsewhere! Very disappointed.
I cannot say enough good things about Warren and the repair team at Sportland. First off, they do a great job with communication whether it is through email or it is through the phone. Secondly, they did a really great job on my machine. The thing runs like it is brand new and they never tried to up sell me on items I did not need. I really cannot thank them enough for the great work.Also, I just want to thank all of the friendly sales people as well. Anytime I have a question, they are quick to show me options and I never feel pressured into purchasing items I do not need. This will be my go to shop from now on.

Friendly staff, I always get my bikes fixed here because they work on non-Harleys. The ex-husband bought a Yamaha cruiser from here and had a good experience. Their inventory seems to have gone from mostly cruiser motorcycles to mostly recreational sports vehicles over the past 5 years.
The people here are just fantastic! Went in possibly looking for a new BMW bike. I was offered to go on a test drive ( which I did for an hour). When I came back Jason ( my salesman) asked for my feedback on what I liked and disliked. No pressure at all to buy and spent a lot of time with me. I also met Sam, the owner who was extremely nice and accommodating. The people here are all very nice. They have a huge selection of bikes and very welcoming. You think this would be the case in all stores but its not. They truly appreciate your business. I did end up buying a BMW Grand America. They had it nicely stage when I arrived. The whole process was very professional from beginning to end. With highest regards I would look here!! Truly passionate people in the motorcycle business.
Purchased a new S1000RR from the dealer, was extremely tired due to the long drive. Should have been more careful, however, the dealer included an $1800 extended service contract in my sale without mentioning this. Scummy practice. No one was available at the show room when arrived either, even though I had called ahead and notified the sales staff of when I would arrive.

I would give the guys at Sportland a much higher rating than 5 if possible! I have purchased many bikes through the years and my recent buying experience was one of the best if not the best one I have ever had. I came in to just see if they had the bike I was looking for while I was in town from out of state, and Sam introduced himself to me and showed me what I was looking for. Not only did he give me a very good deal, he made the whole experience enjoyable and seamless. The night before I traveled back to Sportland to complete the deal and trade my current ride, I was introduced to Jason on the phone and he could not have been nicer and more helpful. Yesterday when I picked up my new BMW, Sam came in on his way out of town just to make sure that he followed up with me which was amazing. I could have purchased the same bike 30 minutes away, but there was something about how I was treated that made me want to do business here. Sam and Jason have earned a customer for life!Since my original review, I can only confirm my original feedback as I just had my original 600 mile service done. Not only was it done seamlessly, they offered to loan my a bike while my bike was being serviced if I wanted to get out and enjoy the day for the hour that my bike was being serviced. Warren was very thorough in his communication and follow-up as well as assisting on a know issue on this model. Awesome customer service!
I called Sportland Motors about having two tires, I ordered off amazon, mounted and balanced. Their prices are exorbitant. They told me it would be $100, or $50 each tire. Not competitive pricing at all. For that price I can buy the tools myself and do it. I do not under any circumstances endorse their business. I will never be coming here for maintenance again!
This is the best place in Champaign-Urbana to buy your bike! Knowledgeable sales staff listen to what you are looking for and then offer a variety of choices! Want a quality used bike? There is always an excellent selection on hand. The service crew are great! Very good at advising what works best for your bike. They will tell you honestly that an accessory wont work for your bike and why. Set an appointment and like clockwork youre in/out as promised!
Brought my bike in for a top end rebuild / cct replacement. The service department checked my VIN for recalls and replaced the stator. Really quick turnaround for quality work at a fair price. I have no complaints and definitely recommend.

My experience with this store was sub par at best. I purchased a 2020 Yamaha YFC450R from them a few days ago. After my 1st ride a bolt fell out upon calling them to try to get the bolt replaced my fiance and I were both ignored and talk to rudely. My money will be spent elsewhere and yours should too!
I recently purchased a used rzr. It was a trade in they got and I had several problems with it. I live about an hour and a half away but each time there was a problem they sent someone all the way out here to get it free of charge to me. They were very kind and quick to address any and all issues. I did decide the machine wasnt for me unfortunately and the owner was quick to offer a refund and pay any additional interest I accrued over the time I had the loan. I cant say enough about the customer service. While I wish the machine had worked out they did go above and beyond what I expected and frankly what they had to do. Good guys all the way around.

I live 40 miles from this shop, I called and talked with Jarod about a side by side to use at my small farm. We discussed several products on the phone, and I drove over to check things out. I was able to test drive several products, and made a decision on a Kawasaki Mule. I appreciated the help choosing the right product, and the ease in which we made the deal. Im glad to have found this shop, and would definitely recommend doing business here.

Drove an hour to Urbana as Im very interested in a side by side UTV.. Not only did I get completely ignored when I walked through the showroom, I just helped myself and walk through the back lot and buildings to see what they had inventory wise. I was out there for some time and no one even seemed interested who I was or what I was doing. Not a bad inventory but they must be doing fine business wise because I just left.. The common response to other negative reviews is 4 buildings and 3 salesman = bad management..
The guy we talked to wasnt interested in selling me a motorcycle. More interested in surfing the internet. Ask him a question and I would get a short answer. He was very uninterested in his job. So I left and went bought from someone else. There loss.
Typical dealer. Overpriced, but good selection. They are very serious about letting you know that labor is $90 an hour, no exceptions.

Their BMW Tech appears to know what hes doing but thats the most positive thing I can say about this place. Their service counter and parts department are the worst run Ive encountered in my life. If you ask them to schedule an appointment when your parts arrive dont count on a callback or any notification that your parts are in. If youre talking to the parts department about your parts which have just arrived dont you dare ask them to setup a service appointment as thats just to much to ask.Ill be doing everything in my power to avoid using them in the future.
Fantastic!! We were from 4hrs away, just going to be passing through town. Unfortunately we were going to be passing through at 8:45 at night. Sam came back and met us so we could pick up our purchase. Now you might think this is not a big deal for a $20k purchace, it was for a $1700 used atv. This made our sons weekend. Oh, and the quad was ready to go and just like they told me it would be. Absolutely great experience! Thank you guys again!
I took my motorcycle in to have a known problem with the carburetor fixed. Supposedly they rebuilt my carburetor. Upon riding it after the repairs were done, the idle was not set correctly. The bike would die if the choke was not fully open no matter how long the bike ran. NBD, I adjusted the idle screw to my satisfaction and thought that I should be good-to-go. WRONG! I filled up my gas tank only to notice that my bike was LEAKING GASOLINE from around the fuel filter. What kind of janky mechanic completely fails to correctly re-connect the fuel line from the petcock to the fuel filter? The hose clamp was ON the fuel line, it was just not re-positioned over the portion of the line where it connects to the fuel filter!?!? Perhaps if they had spent more time making sure that the job I was paying them to perform was done to perfection, and less time trying to UP-SELL me on services that I could EASILY perform myself, I might have been more satisfied with their service. I had to tell them NO 5 times to charging me $135 in LABOR plus parts for an oil change, air filter change, and spark plug replacement. I have to re-emphasize that this attempted up-sell charge was just for labor on a basic tune-up. Perhaps I should take the advice from an earlier comment and take my bike to Chicago for proper service from this moment on, or do what I had been doing prior to this service, DO IT MYSELF. On a positive note, some of the things that they insisted on fixing (not what I requested) were done correctly. However, not enough to raise the review above one star.

This review pertains to the service department, Ive never bought a motorcycle here. My 2014 Honda CB1100 has been in two accidents and these guys did quality repairs (with customizations) both times. Service department shoots straight and maintains communication although you may wait awhile for repairs depending on their schedule.

Tried to have a rim respoked and they tried to say that it was in fixable . but when I asked they about why they thought that he showed me how he was trying to do it and it wasnt right. There is a specific way to do it and he didnt have a clue. I brought it home made my own jigg to true the rim and had no problem. They are inexperienced !

We went in to look at bikes and had a few questions. It was Saturday and there was only one salesman and this salesman had better things to do than talk to us. He was to busy talking to a friend about this and that (he was not making a sale just chatting). Then after waiting about an hour to talk to this guy we only got to talk to him for about two minutes because now he was more concerned with the fact that they were about to closeand answering a text. Probably wont be getting a bike from them now because of this.

Who sells an oil filter without the housing seal? Sportland does. Who doesnt carry any of the tools needed to work on common things like clutches and the like? Oh, Sportland, too. Who takes three weeks to change out a manufacturer warrantied tire? Yep, that would be Sportland, too. Every time I go in here, Im disappointed that they dont carry anything you actually need, or Im just appalled at the prices.

Terrible service! I called for a flat, was told, no problem, come on over, well fix u up, in and out. Had my bike towed over and then someone else told me 2+ days. Waisted my time and money!!! No one knows what the hell is going on over there!!
Would avoid this place. Wife and i went here to look at motorcycles. Wer found two we liked. A harley and an indian. Both on the expensive side. After over a half hour watching the salesman talk to his friend and ignore another customer besides us he finally graced us with his presence. We got in one question until he looked at his phone said we are closing in five minutes. Proceded to answer a text and walked off leaving us standing.

Looked at a Bmw 1999 r1100rt and the asking price was 2999 I was very interested and was going to trade my bike what was worth more that the Bmw. Then they said it was going to be 3999 and my trade value went down and they wanted 1500 more and my bike.What a ripoff you cannot thrust these people at all. go elsewhere and I urge all military not to go here at all,being a retired chaplain I cannot state here what i really think of this place

Hey guys, just wanted to inform you all about what happened to me at Sportland this Spring. My bike was having issues with dropping down to 1 cylinder sometimes while riding and they diagnosed it as a faulty (leaking) fuel petcock. They said the best solution was to rebuild the petcock and when I asked if it would be better to just replace the whole thing they said the rebuild would fix the problem and be cheaper. So I went ahead and paid them the $108 to rebuild it, plus parts and $72 to diagnose it for a total of $242.90. For comparison, the shop my bike is at now is charging $42 labor to replace the petcock and a brand new petcock from BikeBandit was $73.Turns out they only rebuilt the DIAPHRAGM in the petcock, not the entire thing. Even though the invoice says Rebuild Fuel Petcock they didnt rebuild the whole thing. The same problem reoccurred shortly after getting my bike back (after it being in their shop from April 3, 2012 to May 2, 2012) but I didnt want to mess with having it in there for another month when I was going back home from school in 2 weeks anyway. I figured I would have the shop I trust back here in Edwardsville (Moto Italia if anyone knows the area) deal with it.Moto Italia rediagnosed it as the petcock being the issue again, so I called Sportland back up, had them talk to Dan at Moto Italia, and they denied any fault based on the parts listed on the invoice. Remember, they told me directly that they were rebuilding the fuel petcock, NOT just the diaphragm, so I assumed that was what I was paying for. Ive never taken apart a petcock before so I dont know the different parts inside of it, I just assumed that when they say they are rebuilding the petcock that they would rebuild the entire thing. Guess I was wrong.Long story short, I will not be using Sportland again and would recommend others not to either. Its a shame they have a monopoly on the industry in the Chambana area, but it is worth the drive to take your bike somewhere else.
If you were smart enough to not buy a Harley then you should probably do business here unless you want to trade your Harley in then you should also do business here.
