If you are going here for anything but to buy a bicycle they cant be bothered with helping you. We went there to get a bicycle pump, a kick stand, and inter tube, they wouldnt even come to ask us if we needed help. We ordered a part they didnt have in stock; needless to say we never got it. We took a bicycle in for repairs and they wouldnt even do it. This is the absolutely worst bicycle shop ever!

I purchased a Giant Escape 1 Disc from Durst Cycle and Fitness about a month back and I really had a wonderful buying experience at this store. These guys have tons of bikes on display at reasonable prices. They let me try out 3-4 different bikes before I settled with the Giant. No pressure from the sales guys. They took the time to make sure the Giant was the right fit and feel for me personally. They listened to all of my questions. I will shop again at Durst. I highly recommend checking this store out. We bought our daughter a bike here. That experience was OK. Soon after the free 1-month tuneup, disc brake started rubbing. We did a simple adjustment but problem persisted. Wanted some advice. Its tricky as the quick release and disc brakes dont play well with each other.Guy didnt want to listen to our questions. Were told we should not have tried doing anything ourselves, would take up to 2 weeks to fix, and that it probably wouldnt cost us anything. Forget it! Took bike to Itty Bitty Bike Shop and got the help we needed.

Ive been here several times to fix my bike, and Ive found that sometimes the staff are very friendly, but sometimes they are less enthusiastic. Ive never had a problem with products or services, but they do charge more than what I would expect for service, and the Bike Project has replacement parts at a much more affordable price. That being said, this is a very nice and clean bike shop, and they offer good advice on bike repairs.

Took my 9 year old daughter bike shopping here.A sales person said to both of us that a certain bike would suit my daughter well, because she is clearly going through puberty.When I pointed out to the salesman how disgusting and inappropriate his commentary was, from a full grown man, he became belligerent and defensive.Needless to say, they lost a sale. I later called to complain and a person identifying himself as the manager refused to provide me with his last name.In my opinion, the conduct of this employee is beyond the pale. And thats putting it lightly. Durst should look into this and take appropriate action, if necessary.

I have had tires repaired there, and my bike “tuned up”, and I have purchased bikes there. I am impressed on how knowledgeable and helpful everyone is at Dursts. They know what they are talking about when it comes to bikes!

They always do a wonderful job of keeping repair parts in stock, and having trained personnel around to assist. Sometimes that means having to pay a bit more, but quality does come at a price.

Durst Cycle left a lasting impression on me. I have a classic Schwinn that needed its right pedal replaced because I had sheared it off where the pedal met the crank arm. I needed a tool I didnt have to get the pedal off, so I walked the bike in directly. The people dealing with me told me that nobody could replace just the pedals and that I needed to replace not just the pedal, or even the pedal and the crank arm, but the main gear assembly as well! This is obviously not true, and when I tried to discuss it with them, the staff actually mocked me - as in repeat the customers words in a mocking tone mockery - and told me I had no choice but to do what they said. These 20-something nitwits believed they had the customer over the barrel and made no attempt to hide their contempt.I left and never came back, and found another place that took care of the sheared pedal problem free of charge in exchange for me buying pedals from them. You know - like a reasonable business.

Long story short, these people are jerks. Charged near $200 to tune up my mountain bike and hey, what do you know, now Im having even MORE problems with it!! And I know it isnt my riding habits, because I seriously doubt riding back and forth on paved roads to work every couple of days would make a bike suddenly unable to stay in gear, and the console creak loudly every time I pedal.I should also mention that if you are told your bike will be ready tomorrow that is Durst-speak for sometime at the end of next week. I surely enjoyed walking across campus in a 100+ degree heat wave because I made the mistake of expecting my bike to be fixed in two days at most, considering they quoted me one...If you plan on supporting this business in any way, you should probably go to the bank, withdraw a couple hundred bucks, and set fire to it. That is the equivalent of my experience with Durst.I highly suggest Bikeworks as an alternative to these jerks.
