I want to check my pc for a potential liquid damage; everything is good until we went to there before store closing to pick up. The woman technician totally denied that she said we could have it back by the end of the day. She directly told the receptionist to refund with a bad attitude. The receptionists are welcoming but this store really needs to hire a technician with the right attitude.
0 STARS!!! Extremely slow and inefficient service. It took them 1.5 months to order a part for my Macbook. On top of that, it didn’t even fix my laptop. Why would you not keep SPARE PARTS to test something??? And then they charged me $30 for “diagnostics” and labor? Why?? They clearly failed in diagnosing the issue. Horrible experience, NEVER coming back!
It was a great experience all around. The front desk was friendly and informative with me about what to expect during my visit. And the technician that assisted me was able to resolve my issue (full disk) within about 15-20 minutes. Not only was it free of charge, but she taught me how to do it myself in the future. I am used to feeling as though Im being trapped into paying for services and diagnostic tests at these kind of places, but at Illini Union Tech Zone, everyone seemed genuine and looked out for my best interest
Went to techzone to repair water damage on my macbook a couple years ago. I was quoted $75 but the laptop was working, so I happily paid. Fast forward to today, I turned in the same macbook to a certified apple store for a separate small problem. They told me the minor problem is due to water damage, and now I am quoted $300 (would be 1K if no applecare) for water damage. Long story short, the techzone did NOT properly fix my water damage, yet charged me $75 still. My two cents is to ask Apple to properly fix
I went to the tech zone to get my laptop key for repair. After two days they emailed me telling me my laptop was vintage and there was no parts available and that they could not help with the repair. However, when I opened my laptop I found that Andrew had taken a part underneath my key where the middle sensor was. I could no longer press down on the key when I got it back. It was in worse condition than when I originally went for the repair as I was missing part of my keyboard I originally went in with.
I bought a pair of on-ear headphones, but apparently they have a no-return policy on headphones, because I wore them, which is ridiculous and completely made up. Whats worse, is that I wasnt told about this policy during the checkout, and it wasnt on the receipt. So I was stuck with headphones that hurt my ears, and all I got from the manager was oh honey, these are great, you should keep them, not a refund or at least store credit.
Every time I stop by the Tech Zone, wether its for some repair help or questions about the latest tech out, I am always greeted and helped with enthusiasm. Very nice store.
They’re nice and help me every time, thanks To All,,
To small to adequately serve students in a timely fashion.
Bought a faulty product from them which they refused to refund
They are just salesmen, but dont really know what they are doing. They sold me the wrong macbook charger, and wouldnt take it back just because the package was already open, and kept pushing me to just buy the right one. What am I supposed to do with the old one? And they are not exactly cheap either. There are definitely better options on campus if youre looking to get advice on a fix or learn what to buy. But the people working here are really unhelpful and unknowledgeable.
OMG! OMG! OMG! I just walked out with a retail value of Apple products for only $448 tax included. How did I do it. Let me tell yah. I used my Apple Trade In program, I saw online and then brought my products a 5year old Mac Book Pro and a 2 year old Apple Ipad Mini and traded up to a new MacBook Air and a free pair of Beats Solo 3 for only $448. I walked out singing and dancing, I had saved so much money. This is Apples Education Sell ends September 25th I think. If you have older computers and in need to upgrade, this is your best deal yet! Love Love Love this store. Im and employee and an Alumni, and Ive always shopped at Illini Union Tech Zone, they are the BEST!!!!!
The Mac repair staff were very helpful.
Good selection of cables at a decent price
This place is a rip-off. I was buying a keyboard and mouse set and they literally sell it for 70% more expensive than local store on prospect Ave. Make sure you check the price.
