Came here to purchase some local beers because I live out of state. Great selection of beers and big selection of build your own six pack beers. This place was a lot more than just local beers but I wasnt shopping for home brew items. One of the better places in the area for unique craft beers.

Only stopped in for some yeast, but the owner was super helpful. from what i seen they had everything you could need to start your hobby. Definitely will be back :)

Great selection of home brew supplies and ingredients. They will mix and mill for you at no charge. Staff is always helpful, but not know it all. A bit pricey on a few items compared to online retailers, but that is expected.

Great selection and quality of beer making ingredients. The employees are always helpful. The beer selection is always rotating. Ive never had any issues with any of their homebrew ingredients, other than occasionally not being able to find the right types of hops I was looking for. The guys are quick to help point out a good substitute, though!

They sell all beers individually by the bottle, so you can try lots of new stuff. They carry a massive selection of beers you cant get anywhere else. They also have a lot of home brew supplies. Staff have always been nice and helpful. Definitely a place to check out if youre a beer lover.

I come here to buy ingredients for home brewing and to buy beer. I love that every beer is sold as an individual rather than 4 or 6 packs. Good prices too. And they always have the ingredients or parts I need for brewing, kegging, etc. The employees are always happy to help if you ask and not in your face and not condescending beer snob types. Great selection of Micro Brews and brewing supplies. Good selections of grains and milling is available. I like that they carry lower and higher priced items you can chose from depending on how serious you are about brewing and bottling your own beer.

I am new to the home brew hobby but have found everything I need at the Crazy Beer Store.. The owner is very knowledgeable and can help you generate a recipe on the fly. Great selection of grind your own grains and a large selection of extract kits to get going quick. Yes its the only store of its kind in the Des Moines area but its also the only one you need.

If they dont have the answer they will find it...if they cant find it ...its probably not worth knowing from a home/micro brewing perspective. The prices are very reasonable. Beginner or advanced, all are treated with respect.

The best place in town for all your home brewing needs. They have everything you have been searching for, but cannot find locally. From DADY to barley and flaked oats to local beers, its all there. The prices are comparable or better than Amazon for most all your needs. The best part is they can answer those pesky questions you have struggled to find a straight answer. I wish Id found them sooner. I am definitely a repeat customer and hope you find this place sooner than I did. Happy brewing!

For a beginner have, this place has everything you need. The staff is knowledgeable and has answered many of my questions. The mill and mix the grains for any recipe you want to make while you wait. Their selection of bottled beers is really good too. I always end up finding something new to try.

A real gem for Des Moines-area beer lovers. The selection is pretty incredible, and the fact that beers are sold by the bottle is even better---gives someone a chance to try a beer before committing to a 4- or 6-pack. Ales are kept at room temp (great idea!) while lagers are stored in the walk-in cooler. Selection of brewing equipment, kits, raw ingredients seems extensive. Looking forward to brewing some beer from Beer Crazy.

Best store for brewing supplies, the owner and employees all brew and are very good at giving advice on any beer topic. I went into get supplies for my keg tap and line, got everything i needed and even some tips on how to pull the line apart and put it back.

Hands down best in area extremely friendly and knowledgeable and if they made someone feel inferior then that person has there own problems to deal with because Ive never seen any worker at beer crazy ever act that way. These guys have a craft and want to share with everyone and ti also teach. If you have questions they are more than willing to answer. The selection of bottles here is amazing. If all you want is a 12 pack of budlight go across to QT. If you want to find out what makes a tripel come here.

A gem of a store if youre into brewing -- and believe it or not, a great supply store if youre into fermenting kefir and/or kombucha -- I stocked most of my funnels, fermenting vessels, stirrers, lids and bottles from there. Better buy than Amazon for these items. They also have some interesting spices to use in your kefir/kombucha brews!

A good place to stop for your brewing supplies. They had a lot of stuff I didnt expect they would have had.

The place has more of a warehouse/homedepot/menards feel than a retail store. But for my purposes (home wine-making) the guy there was very knowledgable. I have made wine a couple of times but always as ghetto as it could be, never the correct way. It only took a couple of minutes until j had exactly what i need im hand. Will be going back for more equipment/ chemical additives.

I make sure every thing I need for brewing comes from here. Hope it never goes away!

I thought id give these guys another try after my first experience was bad. I will not be going back. And while they have a great selection of non-refrigerated beer, the guys that stand by the counter are extremely unfriendly and awkward. They make you feel inferior when you ask them a question...I would think this place is awesome if when I said hello they said hello back. If you are trying to buy some refrigerated beer to enjoy with your friends, this isnt your spot. This is mainly for people to brew their own beer...which is fine.
