Best meat counter in town. Meat dept is rock star advisor on great ways to prepare meals. Rotisserie chicken is a must. Prices are awesome. They even carry bags to car. Wonderful service!

This is a fine grocery story. Their meat counter is legendary. It is a full service counter. If you dont see what you want, they will offer to cut it for you, and cut it right before your eyes. They offer good advice if you tell them what you need. Their thick cut slab bacon is meaty. Their ham steaks are easy to grill or pan fry, and are tender. They make their own ground pork and ground beef. When they cut their steaks they throw the cuttings together to make their ground beef. It is the best ground beef you will ever eat. Their ground pork is made the same way and they offer it deliciously unseasoned. They also offer it seasoned as a mild pork sausage breakfast sausage or as a mild Italian sausage. These meats are amazingly lean. They offer both grass-fed or prime beef steaks and can advise you what is best for the grill. The prices are not higher than anyplace else, but the meats are out of this world.

Its my favorite grocery store for meats and just about anything else your would need. They still have the workers who help you carry groceries to your car. They are a great employer

Great meat and very economical prices. Special deals every day, especially for canned goods and dry foods. The produce is economical but can sometimes be close to the edge of going bad. Produce is okay if used quickly, but dont expect to keep it for more than a few days to a week.

Excellent store. Very helpful employees, clean, reasonable prices, good selection and none of the ridiculous gimmicks used by some competitors. Groceries, not gimmicks!

We have been grocery shopping Fsreway for years and have never been disappointed by their products or service. All emplyees are helpful and just great people. We shopped The Perry Fareway when we lived in Woodward, IA and were sure to find one when we moved to the Des Moines Metro area. Again, never been disappointed.

Fareway is a very good smaller grocery store. Their best quality I would have to say is there meat department. Everyone who works here in the entire store is always pretty darn friendly. Since they are a smaller grocery store they dont have quite as many choices or options as say Hy-Vee does. And their prices are decent considering everything seems to cost more these days.The Urbandale Fareway husband my go to Neighborhood store for over a decade. I am usually satisfied when I finish up shopping there. I would recommend this store.

Staff is helpful, happy and enjoy their jobs. When I lived in Cedar Rapids I would drive 10+ miles roundtrip to shop at southside or Marion Fareway
