The product was excellent! And overall this place is super cool with all of its tanks! And the Crab we purchased turned out delicious!
Definitely the closest Asian goods market to where I live. Not bad if not a little messy. Parking lot is tight but theres not much Ocean King can do about that. Shop employees were helpful and friendly to me.
Love shopping there. Always have what I need.
Best oysters and seafood. Going there this evening. With my lil brother. See yall there.
I get to find stuffs i like that big grocery stores dont have. I come from the Pacific Island in the Marianas and eat various food that i find in oriental markets. Our local food we eat most times.
Small market with an extensive variety of both fresh and frozen seafood. Limited meat products also available. Assorted packaged foods, refrigerated foods and produce. When I was there, most of the fresh fish tanks were empty.
They have a pretty decent sized selection of freshly frozen sea food available! Prices are fairly marked for the most part. Customer service was a little non-existent, as well as the place looking like it could use a slight tidy-up, but Id come again for the niche items I need.
WOW ImpressiveLIVE crabs 🦀 😋 and lobster 🦞 😋Very expensive but heck... fresh is fresh 😎
Small Asian market specializing in seafood. This is where I get my sushi grade fish.
Very good Super market I like the place vet clean. Everyone over there are nice.
Decent little seafood market thats usually busy. I drop by mainly for live oysters (good price but low on variety), and they always have a selection of live lobster, crab, muscles, etc. Theres a produce aisle in the back where you can pickup things not common in western markets (long beans, Chinese eggplants, enoki mushrooms, etc). And of course multiple shelves of asian dry goodies and a nice selection of frozen vacuum-packed fish.
If they had kitkat flavors, it might be a bit better. The world of kit kat flavors needs awareness.
A small space with so many products. They were great at answering questions in the phone. I am excited to find this resource in Vancouver. No need to run over to portland. Many live seafood options as well as a large assortment of frozen.
Selection is very limited but good enough to make a simple recipe.
This may not be the largest Asian market in the metro area, but the selection is outstanding.
We recently moved to Vancouver and visited the Ocean King Market for the first time yesterday. We found that they have a decent selection of items. The store isn’t laid out exceptionally well, is quite cluttered, but not the worst we’ve ever seen. Upon checking out, our experience was ruined by the female employee working at the register. We asked her if they accepted American Express and her response was ”You don’t see the sign?” in quite a condescending way. She could have simply said ”No” and called it a day. I wish I would have taken a picture of the register area because there are no less than 7 hand written signs posted all over the register area that would have taken a minute or so to read through to discover they don’t take American Express. All said, we will not be going back here based on our one time experience.
Great variety, I end up trying something new every time.
Great place to buy crabs.there tanks are full of crabs. Good people, good service. They do clean and cut fish, chicken, crabs.friendly fast and efficient, its a small shop so does gets crowded but moves fast....I always support local family business,,.they sell beers also and some vegetables
This place was amazing, as far as how many crabs they have and they were all still alive, only $10.99 for a whole dungeness crab. I live on oregon coast and probably pay more there most the time and meat wasnt even as favorable as those. Will definitely tell people about it.
It’s meh, only go if you can’t make it across the river for plenty more deals in authentic Asian markets
Great store all way have what need 👏 👌
Small Asian market where you can find almost everything for your Asian needs. Nice seafood section with lots of shell fishes and crabs. Dont expect the same level of hygiene as Whole Foods though.
Not clean .. Very rude .. Did not purchase items I went there after
A great place very friendly and they have a great selection of live animals. Ive been getting my lobsters here for the past 3 years and they are very healthy and great size
Absolutely love this market! They have the best Dungeness crabs fresh in the tank and Manila clams! Delicious!
Everything asian you CANT get at other local markets, including live shellfish
This place is kind of cool, when you buy a crab here, it was alive, they have a whole bunch they have them in big aquariums.
Best place in town if you are shopping for Asian food. Low prices too!
Very great store for all your Asian sauces and staples. Meat counter and live seafood. Not so many snacks or dishware.
You may find a large selection of live, fresh and frozen seafood here as well as a wide variety of grocery staples. It feels like what an Asian store is depicted in film and television. Prices are good enough. They have my liniment in stock there - zheng gu shui. Great for topical pain relief and quite aromatic but not as bad as BenGay!
HUGE variety of Asian foods. Has live, fresh seafood. I will be coming back again and again
I love this store ...everyone was very kind and helpful . Everything was fresh and well kept.
Amazing live im season seafood. Crustacean, cockles, snails, fish and more. Their frozen section is also great for aquatics. Frozen section also as a great selection of dumplings, bao, and other fun treats. Asian condiments and dried goods are also a good time. But, fresh seafood is the reason to check them out.
Good selection of crab tilapia and bass
Great source of product and fresh fish and produce
Only Asian market in Vancouver so each item is way overpriced. If you want to buy more items, it is better go to the other Asian markets in Portland. It will save you a lot of money.
Fresh produce and lots of selection even though they are a small store!! We love that we dont have to travel to Portland to get what we need!!
Best selection for Asian foods and seafood. Bonus that they always have Banana Leaves
Small but had quite a few of the items I typically look for when shopping for filipino/oriental stuff. So, its convenient for me and Ill go back when I need things like Eel for sushi, various oriental sauces, mochiko/sweet rice flour, spring roll and won ton wrappers, and sea food.
I go every two weeks and stock up, absolutely love it. As someone with sensory processing issues though, seafood can definitely be overwhelming at times
Good fresh seafood. Live Dungeness and Lobster.
This place is great, decent prices and fresh live seafood. Will definitely go back!
Great place to shop 👍
Favorite place to buy fresh seafoods.
Great store but a little freaky about the mask.
Great little market for seafood
This is a great little market with a great variety of Asian and general seafood. They will butcher any fish purchase free if youd like and its a go-to market for us. The prices are reasonable and there is always an abundance of unique foods to choose from. And for us, the clams and fresh Dungeness crabs are a really nice treat!
This place is incredible! Everyones very nice and helpful. All the meats and stock bones are so great to cook with. They have so many fish and stuff I havent been able to find anywhere else. Lots of good snacks. I wish they had more kinds of beverages but they do already have a big case full of all different kinds drinks. Ive stared mainly shopping here for meat, veggies, and freezer-section takoyaki
About! superbly cool! unforgettable and changeable boldly, not like everyone else, but really!
Do not always carry my babys chips
Best in town awesome store for everything
For such a small asian store is well stocked with a great variety of products from very fresh produce through live 🐟, 🦀 and clams to frozen products like good quality thin cut hot pot meats also good prices😄👍
Great grocery for Chinese and other Asian groceries. Good selection of fresh (live) seafood and frozen..
They have a great selection of fresh, live, and frozen seafood, and other unique meats. There are many unique Asian foods and ingredients, which is nice when you wish to follow a recipe or have a more authentic flavor in your dish. Many of the people who work there dont speak English very well, however, and are very abrupt and rigid, which can come off as a tad ride or standoffish. But, its a great place to get everything you need for a great Asian meal!
My go-to market for fresh dungeness crab
This store is cheating customers. I bought a small fish that came out to 2.8 pounds, after back home I weigh it is 1.9 pounds, a tiny fish cost me $28? so be aware if you shop there, I should learn my lesson by now, last time I was cheated by them is I noticed the hot sauce I bought the expired dated been manually changed. This is not how to run business, never go back again!
Fresh crab and fish! (So be ready to smell them, Its totally worth it.) Fresh Asian veggies and herbs, all kinds of sauces, rice, frozen goods and noodles. Helpful and nice staff.
Not just fresh (live) seafood, there is a pretty good general asian market here too.
Good Fish And Chips
Great place to find oriental ingredients
It was a wonderful feeling when my eldest daughter took me to Ocean King Market. Being able to purchase childhood favorites (specialty food items, candies, Kimchi like my mother used to make to name just a few). Now that I know where to find Ocean King Market, I can take another walk down memory lane anytime I miss my mothers home cooking.
Cool spot. they have Lays chips you wont typically find in the States. (random) employees were either in a bad mood, or didnt like me too well. 🤷🏼♂️ no worries, Ill be back and they can have another shot.
Great selection and pricing. Wish the attitude at the register was welcoming Wednesday afternoon the 1st of August. I certainly didnt feel my purchases were appreciated nor valued. It leaves a poor impression leaving the door, that stays with me and inspires me to look elsewhere to do business.
Ocean King is great! Just wish it was a bit bigger with a few more selections found at the larger markets. Conveniently located for us and the staff is helpful.
Great place for most far east Asian cuisine. This store also has the highest chance of getting a fresh Thai coconut.
The most helpful staff, very nice people!
Very rude when I asked a question. Sad.
Great place, with good prices, to purchase fresh seafood & fish. The crab we got was big and meaty. I wont go anywhere else in Vancouver. Rico, who works behind the seafood counter, smiled and was very friendly. The checkout is slow (thus, the 4 star rating) as there was only one cash register but its a small store. Were all of the staff super friendly? No, but I dont care. There are cultural differences that should be considered when frequenting ethnic businesses. I dont need everyone to be in a fantastic mood anyway. My food tastes exactly the same whether I get a huge smile and thank you or not. And the people I encountered did say Thank you. So, take it or leave it. Its just that simple. Me? Im taking mine. The products are good with decent prices and variety. Theyd have to do more than just not smile to lose my business. Apparently, some of these reviewers have never been to Walmart; they can be rude af for no reason sometimes but I still shop there, too. Quit feeling so entitled for a simple 10 minute shopping visit.
I enjoy their variety of fresh & packaged items!
OK store for a quick stop on Asian ingredients, .in East County Vancouver... live seafood swimming in tanks wc could use some cleaning as the tanks are dark & mouldy. Good, competitive prices for these fresh seafood. The staff working are not very welcoming, in fact, the cashier (young Asian gentleman), seemed so disinterested in answering my question to the point of being rude. He seemed like he didnt want to be there😁! I will return - again, in a crunch, if I cant make it to Portland. Hopefully, that cashier may want to improve customer service skills.
Finally a REAL Chinese supermarket in Vancouver. Its not very big and they dedicated almost 1/3 of the store to fish tanks for live fish for sell. Not sure when they opened, they probably are still in the soft opening stage where things are not all put out. I have high hope for them once theyre fully stocked.
Pretty good selection for a smaller market
Got my Tom yum soup mix their
I can find pretty much any ingredient I need for the dishes I cook.
Great selection, though I feel some of the workers dislike caucasian people. And Im not the only one who feels this way.
Fish smell is so strong, it was hard to shop. Nobody offered to help me find what I was looking for. No prices on several items. But good prices on most of the things I bought. I did like the organization. It was easy to locate several items.
Good seafoodCould be cleaner
The only Asian grocery store we go to on this side of river. Food is more fresh than some other Asian stores (on this side of river) and plus they have fresh live seafood. Downside is they may be more expensive than Portland of course.
Good proces and selection 👌 also fresh crab and lobster 🦞 💯💯
Best kept secret for fresh live seafood and meats. Hard to find the prices of things but the people who work there are nice and will scan it for you no worries. Its been a trusted place for years.
Selection of seafood was awesome! Although we didnt find the the tuna we were looking for, certainly went home with everything else we werent!😀
Good Asian market with live and fresh seafood. Limited produce but they have the basics for Chinese and Thai cooking.
If you want to cook authentic Asian food this place is a must. They have the ingredients including live crustaceans, fish and fresh veggies and noodles.
Its very good if you want seafood. But thats about it. Very limited supplies in the store. But at least it has the basics.
I mainly just come here to get seaweed salad because Im addicted to it. They have a big package and it comes frozen. Really good. Also dried mushrooms and clear noodles. Its a small store but they seem to have a lot of things.
Small store. Ok selection of seaweed. Cashier could of greeted and thanked us for the business. No eye contact or emotion. Wont be back.
Good fresh
Excellent lobster and scallops service a bit rough not very friendly here
Great place for cheap seafood to cook yourself. Dont be scared by the large fish tanks. That just tells you how fresh it is. lol.
Good deals on fresh seafood. I recommend coming here since it is the most local place other than fubon market. Come here if you cant go there.
We dont have a large Asian supermarket in Vancouver. This store is small, but has most of what o e needs for Asian cooking. This store saves me from having to go to Portland every week for Asian produce.
Good Asian grocery store with lots of live seafood. I usually go there for live lobster for my mom on mothers day. I usually taste an after taste with Lobster but not when I buy from here. I can always tell if it was bought in Vancouver or Portland because of that after taste. You can get live crab as well as hood canal shrimp. I even got Geo-duck here.
This Asian market is marvelous. Everything is fresh and the price is reasonable. I really recommend it.
Good selection, fair prices.
I went here to grab some squid for fishing bait. They had a nice variety of sea food
The only complaint I have about this place is that it always has a fishes smell and I dont like fish, but thats what comes with the store and how much they carry!! This is an amazing place that I shop at constantly. Great people and service :)
Great place, good selection and friendly staff.
