Great Store!!!Always a good prices and I love to go specially at end of each season when prices are low and with clearance you can have a great deals for a lot of things you need for the family and households. I completely recommend in store purchases better than online you can find better deals and sales always and I hope they keep this store open for a long long time, we need to keep buying in stores to help grow the local economy.Great customer service in a great store❤

So sad to see this company almost look like sears did before they went under. Variety in clothes, home goods, cookware all scarce and old fashioned. COUPONS they send cant be used on clearance and so little selection in sizes

While we found what we were looking for, it took longer because of their lack of organization. All but one small dressing room was open for some unexplained reason. And can someone explain why the heat was on in sections of the floor?

Staff is friendly and they have some great deals on back to school clothes.

Shopping on the weekday is the best time. The store provided some good discounts. Service was quick.

The store in Vernon Hills seems to be struggling for business. Big hikes in almost all clothing items. Very few store wide discounts overall. The lower level shopping area was almost empty. Most isles were removed. Handful of items on display and too pricey. At check out counter employees too seem to care less for customers.

It is a jc pennys, they are all pretty much the same....this one was about average.

The only reason we are leaving this review with 5 stars is because of the excellent service that Rick in the Returns department gave us. He was helpful and very pleasant when assisting us.

I had good service here. The employees were kind. They asked if I needed help with anything. I told them what I needed and I was lead to the section of the store that had it. Got what I needed, got checked out quick, overall good experience

What happened to J.C. Penney? Barely any merchandise nor anyone to assist me with my purchase.

Sale prices were comparatively on higher side.

The lady was overwhelmingly persistent on me opening a jc penny card, after telling her multiple times no thank you. She got an attitude and said how would you not want to save money! Rude! If I do not want to open a card, dont be pushy. Then when she rang me up, I told her I have a phone number for my jc penny rewards, she ignored me, acted like she didnt hear me and just told me the amount I owed! So I didnt get to use my 10$ credit I had or my rewards. Way to pushy on the credit card, and rude!

Lots of good deals and plenty to choose from. Love going here because they just have so much to offer. Any last minute shopping for whatever event, you can probably find what youre looking for here.

Everything is nicely organized since they remodeled. Your prices are great! There’s always a sale or a coupon that you can use. They used to have a great return policy but now they are a bit difficult if you don’t have your receipt.

This store has some decent deals. It has a Sephora inside the store itself which is pretty cool for the ladies. For a late Sunday afternoon, the place was packed with customers but the store also seemed to be well staffed to handle it. We were in and out quick with our purchase.

The portrait studio is wonderful.

Very very bad experience worker have atitude they told coustomr thry have appoinment for dentist dr they want go no have time.

Very nice store and staff are very helpful

Changed from 1 star to 3. Ordered an item to be shipped to the store. It never came. Called the store, got transferred a bunch and hung up on. A call center in MO straightened it out. I called the store again, talked to a rude person. Called back and got a manager, Brian, who was much better to work with and assured me the refund was processed. Problem was fixed, but it took 4 calls, and 2 and a half of the calls had bad service. Donna at the call center was great and the manager at Vernon hills, Brian, was good, too.

I found everything I needed. The in store directional signs were helpful. Ifound what I needed And the wait was not long. There was a bit of confusion on my part as I waited in line. A line had formed behind a person at the check out . But all turned out great.

JCPenneys is the best! The staff is so friendly and helpful. They give my daughter, who has down syndrome, extra help and positive support. Every Spring and Fall we marathon dress shop at Penneys. They have the prettiest a-line dresses . We Love JCPenneys!

I love JCP! This location is nice and big, and easy to navigate. Things are always out, I can find my size no problem. The staff is always friendly, and even with a line you get thru quick. Returns are easy, online pickup is now located way in the back lower level. I am interested to see what they will do with the furniture and appliance space!

Nice Department Store with a lot of different sales and good stuff to buy. Always has a deal for JCPenney members. Buy clothes and home goods from it, never regret. The biggest collection of draperies and huge mattresses department.

I like it here a lot, although everythings expensive. There are certain things that say sale but as my boyfriend put it, everythings on sale for a price it should have already been. For instance, a massaging chair cover was on sale for $200... I dont even want to know what the original price was. There was a lot of amazing deals on clothes though- up to 80% off. I got a $70 romper for $12. There is a wide variety of sizes as well. Overall not a bad place to shop if youve got a decent amount of money to waste. Theres also a Sephora in the middle of the store if youre interested.

Its run down and sections of the store are closed off, but at least you can try on clothes and then, if they dont fit, you dont have to hassle with shipping them back -- you just put them back on the shelf and try something else! I paid about half what other places were charging, too.

This is one of the closet JC Penny we usually shop at. This store has been renovated. It is located in Hawthorne Mall. This store has good selection of home goods including appliances and furniture. Associates here are very friendly, helpful and supportive.Store is usually pretty clean and well organized, except seasonal change or days after holiday promotions.We recently shopped for particular womens shoes. One of the associates helped order them online. As many other departmental stores are impacted and ebbing closed, we like to see this JC Penny stay open for years to come.

After so many years not visiting the store, Im impressed by the quality of the products it sells. It certainly has improved a lot.

Clean store, found what we wanted for a good price and check out was quick!

This is one of my favorite places to shop for home and clothes. The younger crowd goes for Sephoria, but, Ive always loved their selection for womens clothes.

Hard to find people to help and when I did they werent very enthusiastic. But they had decent variety even on clearance.
