Probably one of the best tackle shops you can go to as far as a selection for anything you might need. Just wish the staff had a little more fishing knowledge and knowledge of what products they have in stock. The workers barely fish at all, mostly just those one day a week( weekend warriors). Called 3 times in 2 weeks to see if they had a product I wanted and they told me it wasnt in stock. Went in there personally and they had 3 on display. Got what I wanted but couldve gotten it sooner.

My favorite tackle shop. The tackle area is well stocked with baits, fishing line, poles, and reels. They have lots of hats (mostly mens) and flip flops. A wide range of mens clothing (not as much for the women). The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. And the location is conveniently located near East Beach or on your way to the Chesapeake Bay Bridge.

This place is a fishermans dream. They have everything and real toy store...and you know what I mean. Great service too.

Always enjoy and usually find what I need here. This location as compared to the eastern shore location has MUCH more in options and selection.I appreciate that they carry seigler and avet reels US Made and seigler is local... Thats nice.They are also one of the few tackle shops that carry a significant assortment of bent butts for boat rods and trolling.

I stopped by the shop to ask questions 1st before taking my bow for a new setup. Hunter, was very polite and knowledgeable. He didnt make me feel intimidated, nor dumb when he answered all my questions (which I had alot) while it was super busy and him being the only one there. I didnt feel rushed. Went back a couple of days later with my husband. He gave us the same treatment, answered all my husbands questions. My husband being an avid fisherman said hed comeback to buy again all because of Hunters attitude and professionalism. Good job Hunter!

This was my first time there coming from Chesapeake. While they had pretty much everything you could want, they were not as accommodating as I had hoped. I observed that other customers were greeted and offered help but no one said anything to me. Curiously enough, I began to linger to see if it was just me or if what I was feeling was really happening. Sure enough, a man that was stocking the shelves had a good conversation with another customer about different cities and what the fishing is like there, what kind of people the residents are, items on some of the shelves, and so on. As I walked past him he never acknowledged me. Another young man stocking the fridge did the same. Looking around the store, I noticed that they werent overwhelmed with customers. In fact, there were only 6 customers there including myself. I selected a few lures and went to the counter and asked for some blood worms. The young man reached under the counter, grabbed a bag of them and after ringing up everything, he handed me my items in a bag and simply said, Here! Nothing else was said to me by anyone as I headed towards the door and I confirmed what I was feeling earlier. I was the only person of color in the store!! I would have quickly dismissed this if they were swamped with customers at that time but that wasnt the case. The young man at the register didnt even thank me for my business. It felt more like, Pay for your items and leave !! Someone tell me, should I go back?

They do have a wide variety of poles, tackle, bait, nets, boat accessories, lead lines, anchors, hooks, rigs, and the newest line of fake fresh bait. The store is easily accessible via N. Hampton Blvd and/or Baker Rd. The store hours are convenient for most. Lacking that personal friendly atmosphere tho. Some of the fishing poles look like works of art and are priced that way. I cant front tho if it were within my means i too would own a few of those beautiful and rugged poles.

1st time here. Probably my last. Selection is fantastic. But when your store is empty and you have 5 workers all huddled at the register just talking amongst themselves and not a single one has the decency to acknowledge their only customer? I went back and forth, looking at reels, rods the whole 9 yards. Not a single one asked if I needed help or spoke a word. Customer service goes along way. Ill continue to buy online. Would love to support locally but oh well.Edit- when you have 3 young employees all higher than a kite and cant answer a simple question because theyre to stoned, maybe get different ones

No one is openly rude though they appear very suspicious of people whom they are unfamiliar with. For folks who do not have their own mug above the coffee maker I would advise you to go in, grab what you need, pay, get out; as quickly as possible.

An anglers paradise! This bait and tackle spot has been a must stop for decades. Aisles and aisles of whatever you need to land your best catch of the season. Centrally located near Norfolk/VirginiaBeach lines close to freshwater and saltwater fishing spots. They carry a huge selection of lures, rigs, rods and reels-- literally just about everything you need except the fish. Theres a huge cooler of frozen bait- squid, peelers, sand fleas and quite a bit more. The staff is fairly friendly and knowledgeable. All in all, Ocean East is definitely worth a stop before you hit the water. If youre a serious angler or just out for a little fishing fun, theres no better place.

Normally I dont have any issues with oceans east. On this occasion I purchased 2 poppers for what should have been $14.99 and one marked down to $11.99. I finished paying for the transaction and was handed my receipt to notice that I was charged full price $14.99 for both. I told the guy at the counter who rung me up that he overcharged me and pointed to the sticker on the second popper for $11.99. He then told me that it must be mislabelled and instead of doing the right thing and refunding the second popper and manually entering the payment into the register, he proceeded to make me feel like an inconvenience and argued that if I had a problem with the price he could just refund the transaction completely and I could be on my way. Fishing is an expensive hobby, I should not be made to feel like an idiot because of supposed mislabeling on their part.

The bait shop is awesome have and will continue.to.shop that section. I wont be returning to the hunting section. When I dropped my bow off sunday to add an inch tv my draw length I was promised up and down itd be done by Wednesday. Did not deliver and the staff is clueless,l. I shouldve figured when I overheard one employee ask another what draw length is. Anyway would t recommend.

We usually go to the Timber and Tines side of Oceans East. The main guy (sorry, forgot his name) is super knowledgeable and is the only one we will take our bows to for any adjustments or upgrades. He stays super busy so if you need something done be prepared to drop off your bow and wait a week to pick it up. But its worth the wait to have it done right.

Most of the employees not wearing masks at all. Not even pretending and atleast having them hang down, just a blatant disrespect for the health and safety of their customers.

The selection of products was fine, but the staff were really aloof and didnt seem to care about much of anything unless they were selling you something you probably didnt need. You can buy the same things here for much cheaper online or at Walmart.
