Food was amazing and the atmosphere was great. Limited parking, dont recommend parking at the restaurant if you have a large car as you probably wont have space. Orders were placed outside then you can choose to sit indoor/outdoor and the food in brought to you. The staff was all very kind!

We loved this coffee shop! We stopped for a quick pick me up coffee on the way back to the beach from having lunch at Barrel 17, and very much enjoyed it. They have a lot of very original options for coffee drinks and food. Next time we are in town well definitely come back to eat!

Loved it here! We walked from our hotel on 24th street. We were confused at first how to order but the girls explained that you order outside and then pick a table inside or out and they bring the food to you. I made my own breakfast sandwich- a croissant with ham, cheese & cream cheese and it was AMAZING! I also had the toasted marshmallow iced coffee which was good, a little strong but I added some cream & sugar and it was good! My boyfriend got the cavalier club and he loved it! There is a pitcher where they offer free water which is cool. Very down to earth atmosphere. We wanted to go back before we left vacation but didn’t get the chance :( will definitely return next vacation!

Horrible horrible horrible first the young ladies are trying their best but the setup of the restaurant is absolutely horrible. So you have to order outside then you can sit inside or outside. If you order coffee or any drink it takes maybe about 15 min to get that, Food took over 45 minutes to get an bacon and spinach omlette my coffee ran out and not even a refill there no table service. The spinach and bacon had more bacon then eggs the cappinchio was just sooooo strong and disgusting. I dont recommend this place at all until they fix their menu and their chef cause it was really bad. They should shut down and figure how to run a restaurant

Great little boutique coffee shop with all kinds of things coffee. We had some breakfast sandwiches with some great got and cold coffee.

Cute little spot. The murals are beautiful and the staff are all friendly. I got the craftsman shake and it was delicious but it was $8.00 for a Starbucks tall. It was not work that much for the size you get. My husband got the pico avocado salad and it was served with no dressing. I got the Baja jack panini and it was good but it was nothing I couldn’t make at home. There is so much potential for this place and it’s super cute which attracts a lot of people in but the prices are so high for the quality and quantity of food you actually receive. 3 stars for atmosphere 2 stars for the food.

Me and my fiance visited Virginia about a month ago and noticed this cute little spot right beside the Airbnb we stayed in and let me tell you they did not disappointe the service and atmosphere was definitely giving a vibe to look for and the food and beverage was very memorable if you stop by make sure you order a mimos with strawberry, and chicken sandwich, and the homemade blueberry muffin it was our favorite breakfast/brunch spot

I used to love this place but their new format doesn’t make a lot of sense. I understand that businesses are struggling right now and short staffed but I waited almost an hour for a Mexi melt. At some point you need to tell your customers there is going to be a back up. I was sitting inside and asked for a cup of water while waiting. Waitress said she was “trained” to tell people only bottle water. Yet, the line outside to order food and purchase water has 8 people in it. Doesn’t make sense. I decided instead of sitting and enjoying my meal I would take it to go.

Extremely disappointing after reading some of the wonderful reviews! Our food took 45 min for delivery and upon arrival was not our completed order. The oat milk was missing for our coffee as was the avocado add on that we paid for! I have attempted to call 6 times now with no answer. After spending $56 on a breakfast that was cold, soggy and incomplete, I would not suggest this place to anyone!

The coffee is really good, but the food was disappointing. The food was over-hyped and overpriced. I had the Wipeout breakfast sandwich and it was very bland. My friend had the Big Kahuna and it only tasted of Sriracha..

I would give 5 stars just for the coffee but the food, staff and decor all deserve 5 if not more stars if I could rate any higher!!! I thought I would have a light lunch and ordered the club sandwich. This thing was HUGE and tasted amazing!!!! Definitely Worth going to if youre in town!

Love it to death! The store has great atmosphere for early morning diners. The staff have great personalities. The store is open at an early time which is great for those 7am diners and has an awesome selection of coffee drinks. The alcohol brunch selection is pretty impressive as well. As for the food, tasty is an understatement. The veggies all taste fresh and the food is simple but fancy at the same time. Im in love with their Meximelt. 10/10 would recommend

Ordered a four dollar tea. Fifteen minutes go by and no tea so I ask about it. They forgot about it and go check on it. Fifteen more minutes go by and still no drink. So I go up and politely ask about it again, and still no one has made it. I just want a refund at this point and the staff says the manager will take care of it. Still no refund from them days later. Not only is it overpriced but they also keep the money they are supposed to refund. Theres another word for that. Theft.

Front of house very friend and unflappable. Sandwiches were excellent although they took a long time to come out because of to go orders. Salad with avocado and pico was so fresh we ate it without dressing. Coffee and Iced Coffee were really good. And the brownie, mmmmm.

Great morning cafe off the main strip. All menu items served all day. Serve yourself coffee with many choices, as well as a multitude of lattes and espressos. The food is excellent with vegetarian options. Children may not enjoy a huge amount of the menu, but there are bakery delights as well. Highly recommend the smoothies.

A mix of good and bad here, but enough on the negative side for us to not return. I had the Lighthouse Melt and it was excellent, but that was about the extent of the positives. My wife wanted a simple veggie scramble, but there isnt one on the menu, so she asked yo hold the bacon and cheese on one option, and have some extra veggies instead. The extra veggies amounted to a couple chunks of tomato and onion, but we got charged an extra almost $3 for them, but no discount for skipping the bacon and cheese (by far more expensive items than a quarter of a tomato and slice of onion). We inquired about this issue to the server, and she sent over the manager on duty, who rudely explained there are no substitutions or exceptions, but he would remove the extra charge out of generosity. This attitude made it clear he had no interest in helping our situation, just wanted to appease us. With the amount of people who do not eat meat these days, it is ridiculous to not have a veggie breakfast option, and an absolute outrage to be charged such an exorbitant amount for a few cents worth of veggies! Needless to say, we will NOT be returning, and urge others to consider their own personal preferences and dietary choices before visiting too.

Man I wish I couldve given this place a 5 star, neat atmosphere, food that was going out looked amazing but I had 2 orders that were incredibly simple, a cappuccino and 3 toasted bags for 1st order, 2 toasted bagels for the 2nd... Surprisingly after watching so many people get upset my 1st order came after only 20 minutes yes I am saying only because I ended up waiting over another 20 minutes for 2 more bagels even though the orders were placed at the exact same time I just was using different payment methods as I was purchasing for a friend as well... I saw over 8 very disgruntled people that had waited a very long time I cannot believe it took 40 minutes for 5 bagels and a drink by the time I got my 2nd order my drink was completely cold...will seriously never come here again and do not recommend. This is not acceptable.

Friendly place! I have followed them on Instagram for a while and always see pictures of huskies so stopped by with mine, she made a friend! The place was closed but the owner was nice enough to bring my Dog water! Update: tried the Java Surf Cafe Smoothie and Mediterranean egg panini and was blown away with how good they tasted! I am excited to check out the bring your dog nights once a month too and enjoy a coffee drink

My daughter and I had an amazing lunch there today. Very well socially distanced. Staff had masks and gloves. The most impressive part was the exceptional customer service. My daughter said those are the nicest people EVER!

My favorite place in Virginia Beach! I’ve looked forward to coming here for the last 3 years. Amazing open face breakfast bagels and the coffee and espresso drinks are delicious.It does get busy so service can take time, keep in mind you are in a tourist town. The waiters and baristas are always friendly and the food and drinks comes out tasty.

What a cute little Java cafe! Ate a late lunch, which was quite tasty. Hot sandwich called the Lifeguard. The hot Lifeguard. Which was a little fruity and a little salty. Also had a cold salted toffee, which I also enjoyed. We ate outside, which is apparently the only place you can eat unless you make reservations (COVID world). There wasnt many shaded places to eat at the time we went, which was after lunch. Enjoyed the artwork, which was in the process of being changed. Overall, I would recommend for a good coffee and tasty meal in VA Beach!

This morning I had an hour to have breakfast before a meeting, and hotel continental breakfast didnt look appetizing. I headed to Java Surf Cafe and Espresso Bar. The parking lot is small, so you might want to walk. The menu was very enticing. I had a scramble with spinach and bacon, and I also had a latte. I sat at the counter and soaked up the beachy surf vibe while enjoying my breakfast. Ill definitely be back the next time Im in the area.

Such a cute little gem just several minutes away from the VA beach boardwalk. The selection of food choices and coffee styles were delicious, accommodating and easy to order. The staff was friendly and welcoming! So impressed by all the efforts taken by their team to abide by the CDC guildines as they offer outdoor and indoor dining options. My friends and I ate here for a late breakfast two days in a row because we loved it so much.

This place is a real find! We discovered it by accident when we were in Va Beach & struggling to find breakfast & lunch takeout for a day at the North End beaches. We ordered online and our food was ready for pickup in 15 minutes. More importantly the food was amazing! Huge portions, high quality, fresh & inventive. Keep this place in mind.

Not great. The coffee wasnt hot even though the woman working there said it was brewed 10 minutes ago. She replaced it with a fresh cup and that one tasted pretty good. 5 star rating if that was the only issue. But then it took over an hour to be served the sandwich I ordered! The sandwich was just OK.

The waiters and waitresses are so sweet and the food is really good!! Only thing that wasn’t good at all was how the owner treated his workers and how he had the nerve to yell at the costumers. So I don’t drink coffee, but the food was on point. Some of the best freshly squeezed orange juice I’ve had. The decor is really fun in what I can see is an up and coming creative/artistic district. The owner was super friendly and I even met his new born twins.I could tell that people liked his coffee as people were coming in just for that.
