I’m a recent fan of Royal Farms. They don’t have them where I’m from but I’ve always been a fan of great food and Royal Farms is the best if you like fried chicken. If you don’t like fried chicken I suggest you try RF and be ready to become a fan. The facility itself is incredible when you realize it’s a gas station/ convenience store as well. Bright, clean, organized and polite place; in every way it surpasses expectations! Even the bathrooms are spotless and the chicken is juicy, flavorful, moist, hot, and fresh. I’m a lifelong fan of Royal farms now. 5 ⭐️ ‘s

Staff has always been super nice and the whole place always seems very clean! The only thing I wish they had was decaf coffee.

Such a horrible experience with this location off kempsville rd. They had multiple signs up for a 10pc dark meat, the guy behind the counter who was clearly over worked because he announced it said that sale doesnt start till 6am it was 230 am??? No where did it say that. I looked at him soooo confused he walked away. I Finally made my selections and u did take a long while since i had never been to one of these. He says to his co worker all of that for this??How rude i wish I had not given this place a single $$but my son really wanted it after a long 6 hour drive!!!! But i promise that 10.00 will be my last everGhetto employee!!!

This location is a gem located at the intersection of Centerville and Lynnhaven Pkwy. I stopped in years today to put air in my spare tire and to my surprise the service was free. I was under the impression that Wawa was the only service station that provided pressurized air as a complimentary service but Im glad to see that Royal Farms made the right business decision.After I finished getting the gas, I went inside and grabbed a fountain soda. To my surprise, they had fountain Dr. Pepper. All of the real Dr. Pepper loves to know that Its one of the hardest fountain drinks to find. I was pleasantly surprised as I walked up to the counter to checkout. I happily paid my buck and a quarter, then I was on my way.Now that I know that Royal Farms has Free Gas and Fountain Dr. Pepper, there is no reason to drive 5 mins more to the closest Wawa for the same items and services.Royal Farm got it right at this location.

I’ve ordered twice from here and each time i order on doordash the chicken is so pink that I’m pretty sure it would get me sick. Please don’t order here on doordash late at night ! How can i add pictures or videos?? I need to show people what these employees carelessly are feeding us.

Great gas, convenience, and fried chicken store!

Really long wait, didnt have enough of something so they had to substitute another item, and they forgot to include any of our sauce choices. A disappointing experience.

I was looking forward to trying the famous fried chicken, especially bc my normal go to spot closed (farm fresh). The chicken was crispy and fresh however the seasoning was way to salty! I wanted to like it, but each bite I took the more salty it became. I even had peel off the skin and throw it away (something I never do!) Ill just hope farm fresh opens back up!

Best Cup of CoffeeTHEY HAVE THESE NEW BREW BY THE CUP COFFEE MACHINES! You choose your cup size and blend, the machine grinds your beans and does a pour over fresh into your cup. It takes all of 20 seconds.Okay, I hear you guys who have left reviews. I asked the cashier if that’s what the machine did - did it really grind the beans from the top display pots and make each cup fresh and he said, “Well they’re not there for looks.” 😑For what I need (coffee) this Royal Farms is good, but management - you literally have the most prime stopping point on what I call the “Volvo Pkwy Expressway.” Fix your employees. There are people out there with great attitudes who are HUNGRY for a job in this pandemic. Don’t squander the opportunity to make this store great with bad attitudes.

Every time I visit this location for food, the chicken is cooked/prepared with too much SALT. The last time, was my last time ordering chicken from this location. I will go inside for other things or get gas, but that’s all!

Terrible customer service, the only place I have ever been where multiple employees will stand behind the counter and make you wait extended periods for them to get done doing whatever they doing, half the time they arent even behind the counter they are somewhere else in the store its crazy I had to ask for help one time with two employees having a long conversation and they looked at me like I was rude, I had been standing in front of them for 3 minutes, cant wait for the wawa to open down the street good luck to this failing establishment

The store overall is a bit of a mess. it’s not clean, the bathrooms are not clean the workers have in different attitudes and appear that rather be any place but there.When the stores decided to locate in Virginia Beach I remember how the city Council and the public fought not to have it locate there, I thought they were being a bit over the top but now I see they did the homework and had good reasons for not wanting the store to become a business in Virginia Beach, good looking out Va Beach next time fight a little harder so you get quality businesses in a quality city.

David is a great employee! He is always helping out whether its with food or the register and is always helpful! He is always here when i come in, he deserves a raise or a day or two off haha

Good chicken. I had the two piece white meat with potato wedges and a roll. I also got a small side of macaroni and cheese. It was all very good, I really liked the macaroni and cheese and the chicken was jucie and tender. I will definitely be coming back.you should check it out. There was also a large selection of drinks and other snacks.

Unhelpful staff. The food in the kitchen tastes very stale and good luck getting what you ordered.

I first want to start with the good. The store itself is really nice and innovative. Clean bathroom ✓ Great selection of items ✓ Clean overall store ✓. I really like the self checkout feature. Thats the first time I ever seen that in a gas station.Now the reason for my 2 star rating is solely because of the chicken. To simply put it, it lacks flavor. It tastes like the only thing they do to it is lightly flour it and season it with salt and a little seasoned salt, thats it. I dont know if its just this location but if so, they seriously need to hire a better cook. The chicken is horrible.

Bathrooms were clean, staff was nice, and we tried the food for the first time. I thought what I got was decent. Not salty but the bacon could have been crisper it was microwave I can tell. But overall my first experience there was Good!

First time using a Royal Farms and I will never come back. We asked for $20 on pump 9. I come out and theres nothing on it. I go back in and they say its on pump 8. And THEN they said it was on 5 and someone had pumped our gas. They acted as though it was our fault. They were VERY rude to not only us but also a fellow customer who was trying to help us and our situation. All workers were very disrespectful and rude. Highly disappointed. Avoid this place.

I was on my way to my therapy appointment when me and my mom forgot that we had it a 10 o clock not 9 so instead we got gas and came in to eat and i got the chicken biscuit i gotta say biscuit very fluffy and nice the chicken crispy and juicy but a bit messy on the biscuit and a little too much salt but overall a nice place to come

I understand the store just opened a couple days ago and learning curves are to be expected. But when you order two 2 piece dinners at 4:27 and they call your number at 4:53 stating its going to be 6 more minutes and finally your food is ready at 5:12 after you approach the counter inquiring again about the delay, NO chicken is that good. With regards to the chicken maybe I expected too much. The place was a zoo. I really wanted to like the food and place in general but Wawa has a better floor plan and coffee options.

The bone-in chicken is pretty good when it has just been fried. The chicken tenders are tough, rubbery, and dry though. They also forgot to put in parts of my order, I probably wont come back.

Do not use them. They over charge my bank and then charge me $50. They wouldnt fix it and try putting it on my credit report. Do not use them at all. They are scam. I went it for $21 of gas that cost me $71. Get your gas from somewhere else.

I so wanted to give this Va Beach location a higher rating but couldnt because of the inconsistencies with the fried chicken which is one of the things they are known for. Ive gone there 3 times this week and each time is definitely different. Tonight the chicken was so salty I had to toss in the thrash.Tuesday at lunch time the breading on the chicken was falling off and it was soft. It seems that they always run out of the sides you want. A friend of mine went two days ago and the potato wedges were heavily breaded with a spicy batter. Royal Farms Virginia Beach location please get it together. I live 2 minutes away as do many of my friends and family! Im so used to having good food from the other locations. Get it right!

I just went to this location to get my daughter one of their prepackaged soft pretzels that were in front of the chicken/deli area ... every single one of them (except for one, which was damp inside) had mold on them and so I brought it to the attention of the younger employee working the counter and declined them. He glanced back at an older black gentleman with a green shirt on when the gentleman made a remark to him (seemed snide). I walked away to pay for my items and went back to get napkins that I forgot where I saw that all of the pretzels were back on the display to sell to customers!! So I went to the counter and asked the cashier for the manager, but the cashier asked what it was regarding. I told her and after waiting for a few minutes I walked out because I had somewhere to be. Disgusting. Rude.

Zero stars.... Worst service and food I have ever encountered. Chicken is bad bad bad. My first Royal Farms experience was in Smithfield, and I was pretty excited to see one being built around the corner from my house based on the service and quality I received previously. Boy was I disappointed. I even waited a few months after the grand opening thinking it would level off and be a great place to get some fried chicken other than the Farm Fresh (now closed). Try it for yourself and write your own review, but I will never go back for food of any kind.

Very disappointed!!!! I I come to this location frequently and never had a problem. Tonight I placed an order and they were very rude especially the female with the nose ring. When my order came up it was wrong, I ordered a 2 piece dark and got all white meat. I ordered dipping sauce and it wasn’t with my order and when I asked for it, they tried to make me pay for it again. And I work in Customer service and I know that you’re supposed to greet customers and they failed!!! I will be contacting your corporate office!

My daughter and I vsited Royal Farms at Centerville Turnpike, in Va Beach to pick a large order of what I consider to be the best chicken that my family has ever tasted in our entire lives! The staff greeted us as soon as we walked through the doors and Cynthia whom explained that my order was in the cooking process at that time and that it would be about a nine minutes to go on it. During the short period of waiting we encountered several other employees who came to let us know what was happening down to when it was being arranged on platters! This is what I consider excellent customerservice. Cynthia and the entire staff went above and beyond our expectations! Thank you all for jobs well done! Food is toxic. Not sure the scale that is used to gauge acceptable, but this place sells food that were it dipped in the gasoline they,sell, would be a marketable improvement.Slow, basically challenged staff. I guess between expecting customers to self-checkout and the lack of verifiable intelligence... this place must be saving tons of money.Their gas prices are at best, average.The chain must be surviving on sheer good luck.Rotten food. Do NOT apply here and honestly I’d recommend you not shopping here as well. The management at this location is horrific. Most often they NEVER have a manager on duty during night shifts and only have one or two employees running the entire store. The work loaf they ask of their employees is ridiculous and the way they treat their staff, unforgivable. They really need to have a good look at how they maintain their store. It’s so bad employees are quitting left and right. Lots of labor laws are in question with how they work and treat their employees.It’s downright shameful.

Their breakfast sandwiches are horrible! Cold as hell and they are not even busy they just don’t care. Definitely the worst bacon egg and cheese bagel ever!!! Their chicken is good and priced like gold.

Ordered 2 dummies and mashed potatoes with gravy. Got mashed potatoes. Saw them put my order up, didnt call my number, 5 minutes later they called my number. If I wanted to see my chicken sit there I could of went to KFC at least there its under the heat lamp and I get it right away

Come here every night to buy gas. New store, many many people dinner time to buy the chicken. Management is never to be seen, just many young, poorly trained workers with no smiles. Tonight, they could only take cash, the card readers for all credit cards were “down”. So some genius put paper signs all over the checkout machines, but no one was telling the 10,s of people ordering food that it was cash only. You just found out after making an order and they went to pay for it. Many frustrated and angry customers. A little direction from “management” could have gone a long way!Yup

Its a hundred degrees out here. They have a walk in beer cooler that is 28 degrees. Talk about refreshing.Not only that but tbe ac is on and the staff is friendly. Not my first visit to royal farms but by far the best visit yet. Have fun and stay cool outthere boys and girls.

Such a disappointment this evening. Waited 45 minutes for White/Dark chicken 8pc bag that has an awlful burnt taste like you get from oil that’s been used too long.. It was sad to see 1 manager that had 3 employees watching her work they didn’t seem to care what they were being taught.. There was pans of dark meat and no white meat.. with this being a new store and all the advertisements of being known as the “worlds famous chicken” so surprised this store was such a cluster mess!!

Incredible food but we had to wait 40 minutes for 10 pieces of chicken tenders, fries and rolls.

Chicken tenders are usually cooked yesterday and then reheated to luke-warm over and over and over until all the breading falls off and the remaining dry, cold, horrible mass is served unenthusiasticly to the customer. 3 times I have been here my order got messed up twice, chicken was cold and employees barely trained.

We were very excited to have a Royal Farms near us. After giving it 4 trys we will not be back. Food order wrong every time we order from there, chicken sandwhiches with no chicken?? Employee are openly rude and disrespectful to customers and management. Looks like a very sad place to work and eat.

Coffee is awful.. No flavor.. Never anyone at register. Hate self check outs. Wouldnt even give me my change last time. I am very disappointed.. Wawa forever

People complaining about the time need to chill they just opened let the workers get acclimated or go someqhere else, its def worth the wait, its the best chicken and always fresh.. people complaining didnt leave they waited so that should tell u its that good...

Royal farms over at virgina beach centerville has fell off mangers just dont do there job in sending there workers to do there work it been over a month l be telling them to clean there counters, its like 5 layers of dust and chicken grease, and crumbs above the chicken counter l ask them if they can please clean it up, its a shame that this store is brand new and it look horrible they never make the sandwiches right, the bread is hard, and just a bad overall experience!
