The Muffler Shop is located along Holland Rd. in the Chimney Hill section of Virginia Beach. You can access the place just past the Rosemont Rd. intersection heading northbound. There are some other shops in that same area, and can enter from the other side of the building from the other direction. My most recent visit here was on July 13, 2021.Each of the visits here was for my moms car. The first time we came here was in late winter to have the brakes checked out. After having it checked out, everything was good with the brakes and there was no charge.After several months, my mom decided it was time to come back and have the brakes replaced. After they looked at it, they did recommend to replace the front brakes, but the back brakes are in good shape and would just change the padding and such there. At that point, the service was authorized.Later that day, the car was ready and came by to pick it up. We came in to get the keys and to pay for the work that was done. Overall, it was around $400, which isnt too bad at all for everything that was done. The check out process and getting the key for the car was very easy.Overall, we have had excellent experiences here. I would not hesitate to come back here in the future. The staff are extremely friendly and they are honest. So many times when you go to have work done on the car, there always seems to be someone trying to upsell or find something else wrong. That was not the case here. This is a great locally owned business with honesty and integrity. Even though it is called The Muffler Shop, they do much more than mufflers. If you are in this part of the city and need some work done, you definitely need to check this place out.

I want to thank the professionals at the Muffler Shop. I had a cat-back Borla exhaust installed on my 2021 Ram 1500 Limited. I live in hampton and called around to multiple muffler shops and they could not answer simple questions like, how long would the installation take and what would the cost be. I explained what I wanted done and they kept saying they couldn’t say until they started the work. BUT, when I called the Muffler Shop the conversation went like this. I have a 2021 Ram and I want to have a Borla exhaust installed. The young lady on the phone said “is it a cat-back system or just the muffler?”, I told her it was the cat-back and she said, “sure we can do that for you, it will cost $195 and we can have it done in 45 minutes.” Needless to say I Immediately drove to Virginia Beach from Hampton and had the work done. I am here to tell you it was done in 42 minutes and it looked like it came form the Manufacturer. The job was flawless and they even went the extra mile and added addition ties to the heat shield provide in the kit for the wiring. If anyone in the hampton roads area needs exhaust work done you will not be disappointed going with the Muffler Shop. Thank again.

I found this place last min, and man was i impressed! Not only where they friendly, but i had everything done at a reasonable price and timely manner. I usually dont let ANYONE work on my car but i was having trouble putting on my own exhaust due to those “rusty” bolts. I called and they gave me an estimate and thats exactly what i paid. They also had to cut and weld the exhaust i originally wanted to put on with no extra “charges” to my knowledge. Very professional and they explain every step they were taking before they did the work! I definitely will be coming back if i have any issues! 10/10!

Very knowledgeable and hard-working staff. Got my catalytic converter replaced here for my 04 Chevy trailblazer... Because of GMs design, it required a little bit more work than usual, but they were able to cut and weld in my magnaflow catalytic converter. They even replaced two muffler bolts and did inspection on my vehicle to let me know that I also needed a passenger side tie rod end and they werent bluffing.Thanks.

I can’t say enough good about The Muffler Shop. I was driving down from North Jersey to Chesapeake to spend Thanksgiving with Family members. My catalytic convertor became clogged. What a nightmare! By the time I got to the CBBT I could only drive at 40 mph. I had another half hour to drive but made it. I called Travis at 8:30 am the day after Thanksgiving. I explained the car and my personal situation to him. He told me he was very busy but will do his best for me if I got it there soon. I got my Suburban there pronto. 40 minutes later, Travis called me with diagnosis and cost. At 2pm, Travis said my vehicle was ready to go. How refreshing to deal with an honest, efficient, no BS shop. Promises made, promises kept!! Travis and Crew saved me a lot of money and the Holiday with my Family. Had an exhaust leak in a hard to get to place that was causing a check engine light. Took it to one of the larger chain muffler shops and they refused to work on it. Brought it into the Muffler Shop and they confirmed the leak and were able to remove it and fix the issue. The staff at the Muffler Shop is impressive in both their skills and customer service. I wont ever take my vehicles anywhere else after the service I received here. Give these guys a chance and they will win you over also.

Ive been driving for 44 years and had vehicle repairs done all over the USA, and this was unequivocally the best vehicle repair experience Ive ever had. I came in with an urgent exhaust problem and it was repaired right away at a very reasonable price and the job was done perfectly. I called the shop and they gave me a great quote for installing parts I had already purchased online. I brought in my 2006 mustang to get my catalytic converter replaced, and they got it done in less than a day. When I picked it up, a chunk of the honeycomb from my old converter (which must have been in the exhaust pipe ahead of the muffler, totally unexpected and nobodys fault) lodged in my muffler blocking the exhaust from exiting the tailpipe essentially choking my engine. I brought it back right away and they fixed the issue on the spot and didnt charge me any extra! I absolutely recommend the Muffler Shop Automotive Care to anyone looking for great work at a great price!

I have been going to the muffler shop for over 10 years. The staff is like family. They are always doing what’s best for my car and they research the best price. I know when they fix my car it will get fixed and will have no issues. Also they are honest with the time frame. They will tell you if they can fix and when. They can take payments over the phone and leave the key in the car for you to pick up whenever, however don’t go over 2 days or they will charge you $25/a day. They are super flexible so if you don’t think you can get to your car give the front desk a call and Nikki can work with you. Love this place!

After 15 min job was completed, and they didnt charge me not one cent. I insisted but they just graciously said thank you for your service and sent me on my way. Awesome service and honest people! Originally took my vehicle here in 2016 to replace a leaking flex pipe behind my first catalytic converter, which they did for 120 bucks. The flex pipe was leaking again under 2 years around 6/2018. I returned to the shop and explained to them that their repair had failed already and that I was disappointed to see that it didnt last longer. They informed me that it wasnt covered under their 1 year warranty and that it would be another $120 to repair it. Although I was frustrated, I was in a pinch to get the work done so I coughed it up and let them do the repair again. So here we are in June of 2019 and I suspected the same flex pipe was once again leaking after going underneath and inspecting my vehicle on ramps at home. I called the shop last week and they quickly told me that it would be under warranty and asked me to bring it in (Never verifying my current mileage over the phone). So I bring the car by the shop after I get off from work today, Monday (6/24/2019) and they told me that they would put it up on the lift and verify that it was actually the flex pipe that is leaking and let me know. After a short while the woman at the counter returned and informed me that the mechanic told her that the flex pipe was not leaking and that it must be my exhaust manifold but they couldnt tell. I then asked if I could go out in the shop and inspect the vehicle myself while it was on the lift because I highly suspected that the flex pipe was leaking. When the mechanic brought me out and showed me the car the flex pipe was in fact leaking like I suspected and the mechanic just gave me a bunch of excuses about what else was wrong with my car and failed to even acknowledge the fact that their repair had failed again. I returned to the office and was informed at this time that it wasnt under warranty anyway because I had driven over 12,000 miles since it was last at their shop a year ago ( I was never told about a mileage cap on the warranty at the previous time of service or when calling in to the shop about this recently). At this point Im pretty upset and I ask to speak with the manager. I explained to him that I felt that they were being dishonest and had simply done poor work. I noticed when the mechanic had the vehicle up on the lift, that where they welded the flex pipe on was not welded complete on one end because it appeared that they did not remove the exhaust hangers and lower the exhaust down to be able to reach to weld all the way around the pipe. After explaining all of this to the manager he agreed to put it on the lift and look at it himself. After getting it up in the air he called me out in to the shop to show me that the flexpipe had in fact failed but told me that it was welded on both ends all the way around. I pointed out to him the part of the weld that Id noticed earlier and asked him if he thought that was acceptable, and he replied of course. Mind you the weld on the top portion of the pipe looked like someone stuck a piece of chewing gum on there to hold it together (I weld for a living, I know what a proper MIG bead looks like) and that certainly was not it, I wouldnt have a job if I laid down a bead of weld that looked like that. At this point I told him that it was unacceptable and that if he thought it was then I dont know what kind of business youre running but I wouldnt want you to fix my car anyway because youve all lied to me since I walked in the door and you do poor work. I was then at this point asked to leave by the manager and they pulled my car out and handed me the keys. No problem! Im glad they wont be touching my or anyone else that I knows vehicle again. I have never had a worse experience with any business at all as a customer. Horrible customer service, poor workmanship and absolutely no integrity. The manager got mad when I caught them in multiple lies, plain and simple. But I shouldnt have been surprised after sitting in the waiting room listening to his entire staff badmouth him behind his back while he was in the shop. ZERO STARS, STAY AWAY!!!

I thought I had an exhaust leak just from the sound took it here they looked at it tightened a couple clamps (I put downpipe and cat back on myself) and said no leaks, good to go. I asked how much I owed them and they said nothing, I spent less than an hour there on a Saturday.

I went there to simply get my muffler fixed. I was surprised when they fixed it for a fraction of the price I have been quoted by other muffler places. Went there and was approached by a very friendly staff. Told them what I wanted in having the exhaust replaced on my truck. They gave me a more than fair price. I asked when could you do the work, they said now so I said let’s do it. After work was complete and I looked over it, I had no complaints only positive thoughts. I had a dead battery one morning, and once getting a jump start from triple A I contacted several garages. I ended up just driving to a garage close to this one because I knew the owner, but he wasnt in and his crew was swamped for the day. They suggested I go to The Muffler Shop. Despite also being busy, and not having a great Internet connection that day I was in and out within 1hr max. Their shop reminded me of my own child hood small town garage where they were friendly and personable. Job well done guys!

Sam is a top wielder and exhaust mechanic. He did my cat back exhaust for my 2015 challenger scat pack and most recently my new corvette stingray where I did the muffler delete and tips wielded on. His mandrel bends were top notch an dead on. Could not be happier with there work. There prices are very fair for the quality work preformed.

This is the ONLY shop I use for exhaust work. They take great care of customized cars! Travis thinks about how much money and care is put into customized cars before work is done. I would use them for other work if they were closer to me. In the meantime, I will continue to use them as I can.

The welders here did not disconnect my battery prior to working on my bike (welding 101?) and fried my battery. Im out a battery and the shop wont accept responsibility for what happened. I understand that they do not typically work on motorcycles, and were willing to do so to accommodate me, but the fact that they were not even willing to cover a portion of the cost of a brand new motorcycle battery to replace the less-than-one-year-old battery I had reflects poor customer care. I will not return to this shop with my car and will not recommend it to others.

I cannot thank them enough!! I needed to drop Range Rover off to be shipped overseas last Tuesday and the night before my exhaust pipe came loose driving back from NC . It sounded like a drag racing car . I recently had taken my 1996 Toyota Camry there for an oil leak.I received a call about an hour later describing in detail what the issue was and the estimated cost of repair.I was very pleased with the degree of professionalism and knowledge of the mechanic staff there!I After everything was described to me regarding this repair I decided not to have it repaired due to cost.They were very fair and knowledgeable and if it were not a 22 year old car I would have had it repaired ! They were kind enough NOT to even charge me for the diagnostics!!! 2 Thumbs up!

I did not have service here. However the staff are very helpful and friendly. The estimate they gave me was very fair. I compared it to other shops. Definitely they were in the lower cost range. I can not speak on quality of work because I have not seen it. But I would recomment they based on the atmoshere and fairness alone.

I took my 2014 Chevy SS to them for removing mid section with resonator and make new section with only a H pipe in it to rear mufflers. They made mistake first time around and it did nothing but rattle and forgot to add the H pipe. I brought it back following sat and they took it in immediately and did the rework in timely manner first thing in morning. No trouble given. Everything is perfect now - these guys n gals are very down to earth honest people. Thanks Travis and Nikki! Hope you enjoyed donuts I brought you.

First off, I dont leave reviews unless Ive been thoroughly impressed. For starters. I went and got my car inspected by another mechanic and my car failed due to a leak in the exhaust pipe. (Long story short) but the mechanic referred me to the muffler shop on holland and I couldnt be any happier! I came in, Nicky greeted me, and she made me feel like I was top priority. Their mechanic on hand checked out my car within minutes of walking through the door! He only took a few minutes to give me my estimate and the price also impressed me! Being a female, you get nervous of being over priced or taken advantage of and this was not the case at all. Estimated an unbelievable price for what I needed fixed and got to fixing it right away! I took my car in to get an exhaust consultation, because it was free and my car had a check engine light on that said catalytic converter bank 1 was having troubles. I left it there in the morning and was out by 2 p.m. having only spent $270, an amount much less then what Big Als on Witchduck would have charged me (try $1,000 less). Simple cat back install turned into nightmare. No welding required yet without my okay they welded it anyway... then claimed it was wrong part when it wasn’t. I checked before Bringing it in but when I let them know that they got an attitude and said no, I’m wrong the label on box is wrong and the manufacturer put wrong size part in box. So wrong wrong wrong everyone but they are wrong. Go here if you want a shop who can’t put a simple, no welding required cat back on and them to Give you attitude about it. Also forgot to mention despite them welding it when I didn’t give them the okay (they did it without my consent) they left it with an exhaust leak/said it gonna leak and still charged me extra to get it right.... WORST exhaust shop in Virginia stay far far away if you care about your vehicle getting work done right. ZERO stars should be an option

Went to a competitor within walking distance ...they 1st told me I needed a new muffler ...muffler was on back order so then all of a sudden they can still fix for about 40 $ less the cost of a new muffler ?????? Walked over to the muffler shop told them what just happened ....they fixed in 15 min for 1/3 of the price quoted from other shop. Would absolutely recommend...thanks guys you made my week!

They installed my exhaust system on my jeep. Left welds on my frame??? Had an exhaust leak 500 miles later. They looked at it and told me that, they didnt want to get into it.Huh..,, a muffler shop that doesnt want to get into exhaust repairs.These are the exact words they told me!!!!

Great place definitely saved me alot Of money

I was rear ended and one of my tailpipe was bent during impact. Stoped by, car was on the loft in 5 minutes. After about 10 minutes heating with a torch and a prybar it was like new. Asked what I owed...nothing. Gotta love that. Had never been there before but I recommend shop to everyone now.
