Can you give negative stars? Reservation was made, trailer is missing? Where? An hour away. So, proper thing to do would be to get on the phone and say hay we have a problem. But that did not happen. They wait until you get there to tell you. Then after twenty minutes, the trailer magically appears. Completely and utterly unorganized. It’s astonishing how anyone here can take pride in their work.

We received great service from everyone, especially from employees Donovan and Derek. We were in and out in 5 minutes. When we forgot to order a dolly they let us use one free of charge. Wonderful experience. Will definitely use again.

Just had one of those all-to-rare service experiences at the U-Haul on Mineral King. Went there because the trailer hitch on my Yukon seemed to be bent or not adjusted properly. It was not a U-Haul installed hitch. I talked to Duncan, the manager. He came right out and looked at it, immediately knew that it was a DYI fix, told me how to do it, and told me to come back the next day if I had any trouble performing the fix myself. He was knowledgeable, competent, and personable. What’s not to like? Thank you, Duncan!

I rented a 12’x6’ trailer from this location.I went to this location a week early to get help with the right trailer hitch I would need for my van. The gentleman that helped me gave me great customer service and was very professional and set me up with the right equipment.The Day I picked up the trailer there was some miscommunication on where my trailer was located. Duncan Vaughn the General Manager went above and beyond to find my trailer and make sure I was satisfied with my experience at this location. What impressed me the most was that Duncan took ownership of the problem and made sure I was completely satisfied with the utmost professionalism and excellent customer service. I will definitely rent from this location again in the future.

Overall one of the WORST managed storage facilities Ive ever come in contact with. The manager, Duncan, was MIA the entire time I was there and he was the only one that had clearance to help me! The mechanism in my lock on my storage unit broke and my key didnt work to unlock it. They had NO solution other than me getting out a locksmith on my own dime to cut off my lock. It was explained to me that this is a federal law as it would count as trespassing and I understand that. However, Duncan was the only person at the facility who could cut off my lock and he had left for the day. He ignored his employees 3 phone calls and 1 text as well as ignored my phone call and message (never heard from him). Allastar and Chris were great employees and did their best to help me and problem solve with me but Duncan needs to rethink his management approach. I would highly NOT recommend using their storage facility as Duncan clearly does not care about his paying customers. Both times I was there tears were shed out of pure frustration and lack of help.

Take a picture of the gas in the truck before you drive off! I returned the truck with more gas than I used and I was still charged an additional 16.50 gas fee. I did get a refund the next day, but I was informed by the manager that I must of been confused on how much gas was in the truck. No confusion here, just rude customer service.

If you are short a couple gallons they charge you $43. Go over the miles a little $50. So you end up paying double the rental. Never again uhaul. Plenty of other options

I moved to Visalia less than a year ago. I was in contact with the staff returning my truck rental which was due to a technicality charged a additional day. I was told that this issue was resolved, only to find out nearly a year later that the greedy manager dismissed the misunderstanding and charged me. ZERO INTEGRITY. I tried to rent a truck today only to find out this issue was not resolved. You lost a customer FOR LIFE.

People at the front desk were kind and did their job the best as provided, rated really low because there is many deficiencies on their processes, I signed up for online /self pick up and turns out it doesn’t even work correctlySo regardless if you do online delivery you will still need to go through the line and get the person on the office do it all for you, this is a tech complain, as well as not user friendly app/website.Also the weekends seem to be extremely busy and only 1-2 people on duty, should probably staff more people or get the online/tech side working so people can get going faster and don’t have up to 1 hour checking out and 1 hour trying to return.

SHORT ON STAFF BAD!!! Customers service was good but these folks are overwhelmed with customers! I waited a hour and a half to be checked in because of one person at the counter! Its not 19.99 for the day plus its .99 cents a mile! Make sure you check the fuel before leaving along with the mileage! The  other gentlemen outside running ragged like chickens with their heads cut off, they where very respectful and helpful! The only reason i give this spot three stars is because the lack of staff and the low wages! Multi million dollar corporations like u haul need to pay better wages! 10 to 12 bucks a hour is not enough to live on in California! When you take care of the employees, they will take care of the owner or employer with hard workers, sales, and profits!! Without workers, these companies are worthless!! I really hope that u haul along with other multi million dollar corporations will understand what it cost to live in California and understand that when you pay someone excellent wages, you will get excellent results!

DISCRIMINATION!!!!!! Every year we rent a truck at this exact time at the same place. Last year we paid cash once the truck was returned. The same guy BRIAN waited on us last year to. All of a sudden they will not accept cash even upon the return of the truck. He stated it was policy. Well did you specifically make an exception for me last year because you waited on me then to! We put the truck down on a card then paid cash after the fact with no issues it was all fine. All of a sudden someone is to lazy to deal with cash because no policy has changed even with covid, just masks, signs and a plexiglass shield. So with that said you are being discriminatory against cash!!!!! Its a proper source of payment!!!! We have a card to rent the truck as I did online already! Also, he wanted my license and what not all over again. Why do we have to put in all the information and download pictures online just to have BRIAN do it all over again!? It makes no damn sense its BS really!! I WILL NEVER USE THIS BUSINESS AGAIN!!!!!!! I wish there was a negative rating button Id be all over that right now!!!

Had plans for the weekend requiring propane. Worker said this location not doing it today due to being busy with other duties. Sounds like they don’t have enough workers but propane was fast last time so that’s unfortunate. 1 star due to this experience making me have to look somewhere else for propane now.

The line was huge at 7 am with only two people working trying to get everyone set up. The employee didn’t know for sure how many miles we would be charged. Their credit card system was down which made it take way longer. Overall, not a good experience and I wouldn’t rent here again. Moving is hard enough, this should be easy to pick up a truck to rent.

Understand its a Saturday but literally here 2 hours just to return a trailer. Were next in line then they made us move our trailer and go to the back of the line again. Had one worker for both renting and returning which was ridiculous for the length of the line. To top it off their mobile devices werent working either.

This place is a absolute joke. First they didn’t have my reservation neither have they called Or emailed me to tell me. Told me they didn’t see my reservation which I reserved 8+ days prior and checked in online. I could have went else where but I was on a time crunch And had to take what they had and to move my vehicle. Understand I needed a auto transport since my car has no tags, had to take a dolly and risk getting a ticket also had to change my wheels the back since I had tires meant for off-road purposes. Also did not guarantee the reservation guarantee they had listed online, what’s the point of listing it? Manager said if I would had went to Fresno to get one I would of been entitled to it, which I would of went to get it but understand I’m on a time crunch and no one from uhaul contacted me to let me know there wasn’t one available I could have found a trailer else where. Will be the last time I’ll be giving my service to them. Screw this place.

This company has you reserve with a corporate office. Be aware THEY WILL TELL YOU THE RENTAL IS GAURANTEED BUT IT IS NOT. Reserved a 20ft truck and I got a call the DAY BEFORE our 3 hour away move explaining reservations are not guaranteed and they have a 10ft. Truck in Bakersfield if i want it.... go with Penske they actually guarantee a a truck for you not just a reservation.

I wasnt impressed with their customer service skills. As a woman, the representative made me feel as though this is my first uhaul in the history of time. Ive rented more uhauls than I can count. Poor social skills, horrible communication skills. Im glad he explained everything in great detail but also he did lack a lot of information that needed to be given when payment was due. The total stated something completely different than my actual total instead of advising me of that he was rude and said yes thats why I told you youre total instead of your total being that on the actual screen. It was unnerving. It was very busy for it being a Tuesday and they continue to be severely understaffed and overbooked overlapping appointments. No thank you, Ill continue to take my business elsewhere.

Went to get my propane bottle filled at 6:10 pm they close at 7 pm but they said their boss left with the key why would he leave with the key just think they didnt want to fill it very unhappy with there service I go there to fill my propane alone but not anymore

After reserving a trailer online and anticipating the cost, we went to pick up the trailer and were asked all the same questions we had already answered online. When the rental was totaled it was $150 more than we had anticipated!!! The employee was unable to explain the increased price for the SafeTow coverage (which subsequently was explained online by the online chat Employee). We cancelled the SafeTow ($62 for 7 days). The total was STILL $50 more than we had anticipated. He couldn’t show us a breakdown of charges OR explain the additional cost!! Ridiculous. Not only that, items were stolen out of the new cooler we had in the back of our pickup, while it was parked in their parking lot. To add insult to injury, the employee gave us the WRONG wardrobe bar for the box we purchased. This necessitated another trip from Exeter to their business on Mineral King in VIsalia. All in all a terrible experience.

Moving is not a pleasant experience, and neither is all of the expenses that come along with it. Renting a uhaul was one of the last things we wanted to do, but after we were helped by Demetrius, I had a whole new view. Every business should aspire to have someone as helpful, kind, and knowledgeable as he is. I didnt think it would be possible to leave a uhaul happy after needing to purchase a one way, out of state, box truck, but here we are. If this guy isnt a manage already, he is manager material. Or at the least, he needs a raise. Thank you, Demetrius!

I been the two times this month first time they let my trailer go just before I got there said they tried to call me but I didnt answer. Second time they had the trailer but they had no wrecks to change the ball on my car. I would have to by there parks to rent there trailer. I will not rent from uhaul on mineral king anymore. There were other people in the having problems with them to with there trucks and other things.

I had to wait in line for more than 30 minutes and there were only 3 people in front of me. The service is super slow, antiquated and they only have two staff members available that don’t seem to know what they are doing. When it was time for me to pay I took out my debit card only to find out that their machine was not working. The employee had to manually input my card information and their software was not working properly as it did not accept the zip code on my card. Needless to say I will never be coming back here.

I stood in line for over an hour to order and set up an appointment for a hitch to be installed. The appointment was set up for a Thur 16 May @0900. A week before the appointment they called and canceled the appointment and wanted to reschedule I informed that I had to put in for vacation time just for that appointment so he said I could come in on Saturday which is today. Waited in line for about 15 mins for him to tell me I should have went to the side of the building and talk to the mechanic. I told him he should have informed me of that over the phone. Get to the mechanic and he moans and groans that there’s more work to do and the guy from the front desk tells him “no big deal we’ll just have her come back later” I took my key back and left. I live a town over and had to find someone to go there with me so I could leave my van for them to work on. They don’t care about the customers time. If I could leave no stars I would but I have to leave one just to write this review.

I had to run down to Oceanside on a rescue mission, to pick up my son, and move him back to Visalia. I made a reservation via their 800 number. They sent me (on foot) to a location which had been closed for business for six months. Oopsies and apologies later, I was directed to the correct location. I was on foot, by the way, because my other son was at the hospital with his girlfriend, who was having life threatening complications in her pregnancy. I made it clear to the operator who took my reservations that I would be paying in cash. When I (finally) got to the U-Haul location, they told me to rent the van I wanted, I would need to pay with my card. When I asked them to explain the discrepancy, I was given some double talk about them not actually owning the vans yet. The bank technically still owned them, and so they had some contract thing where they couldnt rent them out without a card. And so I had to walk across town to put the money I had taken out of my bank back into it, and then walk back across town to U-Haul. Lots of apologies, but in the end I was supposed to have been on the road at 8:00-a.m., but didnt pull out of U-Haul until just before Noon. Their idea of making nice nice after the fact was to take twenty bucks off the rental price. Seriously!? Apologies for ruining your day, and leaving your son waiting on the side of a road, alone, at night...oh, and nearly getting you fired for not showing up at work that night (three day suspension)...heres twenty bucks to make it all better! If youre looking for snap and pop professionalism, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!

Price on hitch installation was great. Plus the lifetime warranty is just icing on the cake. It did, however, take twice as long as it was supposed to which left me stranded in a town I didnt live in having to walk a couple miles into town and then back so I didnt have to sit there bored.

Very busy, as usual. Rented here several times. They need more staff! The mobile app is supposed to make things faster, but only glitched out on me bc the Uhaul WiFi wouldnt reach to the end of the lot where the truck was. So I had to still go in and wait in the VERY long line. Spent over an hour here. Then the truck was so empty, that when I filled it with $27 of gas, it barely made it to the 1/8 line! $71 for 4 hours in a $19.99 truck! PLUS the $27 worth of gas I had to put in it just to drive it. Not worth my wasted day.

I reserved a van for an important event days in advance to make sure I had everything they needed and they had the vehicle I needed. Unfortunatley the day of the rental I showed up to a hot mess. The employee arrived smelling of sweat and alcohol at 9 am! His uniform was in bad shape and resembled homeless peoples attire. He than informed me that contrary to what the employee who took my reservation said, my debit card would not be accepted regardpess of the balance. In addition to needing a credit card, he said I needed 2 references that he could call right than. ( on a sunday at 9 am) I hadnt prepared for needing a credit card or the references because i was told all I would need was a debit card and a drivers license. It is awkard to have a stranger call your family from a strange number and as them questions on ypur behalf, especially at 9 am on a Sunday. A little heads ul would habe been nice. The vehicle we had to settle for due to this companies lack of consideration and respect greatly discouraged me and my family from recomending this service to anyone.

Im standing in a lobby where not a single employee is wearing a mask. There is a line of about 20 people and not a single person behind the counter. This is the worst customer service. I have been standing for over 20 minutes and the line has not moved.
