In all complete honesty, you cant go wrong with Autotyme Auto. I have used other Auto Shops in Vista and Oceanside, and my car was not repaired on time, I was overpriced and even worse, one the the mechanics was using my car for his own personal use.You can TRUST Autotyme, and Tom knows EVERYTHING about cars. His Staff is friendly and I cannot express how happy I am I found them.Do yourself a favor, and truly, go to Autotyme. They ROCK!!!

Tom is our go-to guy for anything car related. I recommend him to all my friends, and his prices are more than fair. He ll also do your oil, tires, and anything maintenance related for a way better deal (and more peace of mind) than your local chain oil service shops. If I could give 6 stars, I would! Tom is The Toyota Man. My boyfriend and I took the car to another mechanic in Encinitas, who told us that it needed a new engine altogether... with no explanation of what was actually wrong. The car drove when we took it to that mechanic, and it didnt after we picked it up. We then had it towed to Autotyme, where Tom met us out in front of the shop. Not only was he a great communicator, giving us an exact time estimate of when he would be able to look at it, but he made us feel very welcomed. We both walked out of the parking lot knowing that the car was in good hands. Direct quote from the bf: I think that guy could fix just about anything. Lo and behold, we found out -the same day- that all the car needed was a new air hose and battery! Tom was fair, fast, and funny (he only let us leave after telling us a few knee slappers that my grandfather would have been proud of). Tom is extremely knowledgeable and very honest with his customers. Every time I take my toyota prius in he makes sure it leaves in tip top shape. He is a really nice guy, easy to talk to and funny! Its very convenient that they change oils for hybrid cars as well and for a great price. I am always happy to come in knowing my car will be in good hands.

I cant say enough great things about Autotyme. Tom took care of us at 7:30 PM when we were having a car emergency. He worked on our car himself even though all the other mechanics were gone. He made sure we were taken care of even though it caused him to stay after hours. Exceptional service and work!!!

Awesome service! Tom and his crew are legit! They will not nickle and dime you. Fast turnaround. They will also not try and fix things that dont need to be fixed just to make a quick buck, but they will give you the heads up about things that may come up soon. Never pushy about service either. Support local mom and pop businesses. They will treat you right every single time! I would suggest trying to make an appointment vs just dropping in as they are always busy.

Went here once for a groupon and have gone back since for regular repair work because I was impressed. Tom and Lyn are both very nice people to deal with. They are upfront with repairs and they dont try to oversell you with unnecessary things.

The shop might not look the newest or shiniest but these guys know what they’re doing and do it right the first time. Got a water pump, serpentine belt, and CV joints replaced in March and they were more than fair in pricing and time taken to get the job done. 10/10 would recommend.

My recent experience at Autotyme was very good. The people were knowledgeable and friendly. I will go back for any future auto needs. I highly recommend them.

I took my vehicle to Tom for repairs after I had what I thought was a small fender bender. An acquaintance that I thought I could trust recommended him . He gave me an estimate of $2800.00 and said it would be repaired in a week. 18 days later it finally was ready for me to pick up. I go to pay and all of a sudden it’s $3,800.00. I reluctantly paid it I needed my vehicle. Exactly one month later my car a 2010 Toyota Camry starts making a god awful noise and it died . I have it towed back to Tom by triple AAA. The tow truck driver informs me that there is no oil in the vehicle it’s bone dry and I need a new engine. I told him I just had the vehicle repaired after a car accident and that Tom from Autotyme had my car for 18 days just a month before!! He informs me that just two days before he towed another woman s car back to Tom and she too had just picked her car up from Tom and he had just recently repaired her new vehicle and she too had the same problem no oils in her car and blew the engine ! He told me that’s no coincidence! We get to Autotyne and Tom says hello Kim what’s the problem and I said there’s no oil in the car and the engines knocking and it’s ruined he says to me “well Kim you do have to put oil in the vehicle” my face turned red with anger but I contained myself and I said yes but you just had my car a month ago for 18 days after it being involved in an accident don’t you think you should have checked that? Not to mention that he had done the oil change on it just two months prior to this! He absolutely took no accountability for this and blamed it entirely on me! And went on to tell me it would be $5,800.00 to repair! Needless to say I left as fast as I could and will never return nor recommend him to anyone!

Almost all other shops Ive been to have at least one customer-facing employee with a terrible attitude. Not here. This place really impressed me. I showed up on time for my oil change, the car went in right away, and it was done much faster than I expected. I asked for a few other check-ups and it was very fairly priced. Cant ask for a better service.

As I’m taking my 07 CTS in for a quote to replace the valve cove gasket, Tom asked what brand of spark plugs did I use when changing them out. I told him Bosch and he immediately shook his head and said you’re gonna need all new spark plugs and all new engine coils (take I mind I just replaced the spark plugs yesterday). He said that the engine coils would cost me $125.00 each. I immediately looked online and found the exact coils I need in a set of 6 for $144.00 on 1A auto. I showed this to Tom who became annoyed and said “If you’re gonna be giving me parts to work on your vehicle then my labor fees will go up”. This made no sense to me and at that moment I knew Tom and his establishment wasn’t for me. I mean the dude hadn’t taken one wrench to the car before telling me that I will need all brand new replacements for items I just replaced at 200% markup. I hope everyone else has gotten a good deal from this place but I will never recommend a place like this, and in fact I encourage everyone considering going to Autotyme automotive to first stop by TJ Crossman’s auto repair. Let’s Blackball all shady mechanics out there.

Tom and his crew are honest, careful, and, most importantly skilled in diagnosing and fixing my soon to be aging Toyota Camry. (I still think of it as a new car at14 years.) With Tom looking after it, the car will remain forever young.

Tom is great, hes a real Toyota expert and a straight shooter. I was recommended to him when i got my 02 tundra a little over a year ago. He went through it and made it run like new. This year i had some engine trouble and was possibly going to have to replace the engine. Tom explained to me the situation and offered an alternate solution that saved my engine and me several thousand dollars! I plan on keeping my truck for a long time and Tom and his crew are always going to be my go to guys if things go wrong. If you love your Toyota, trust it to a fellow Toyota owner who loves them as much as you do.

Tom has been taking care of our cars (Infinity & Toyota) for 14 years. Last year we moved out of the area. When it was time for service, we took our Toyota to the local dealership. The service rep at the dealership said, Normally when we get a car that has been taken care of by an independent mechanic we find all sorts of problems. Whoever has been taking care of your car has done an exceptional job. After paying an exorbitant amount of money for a simple service we are driving all the way back to Vista to get repairs and service at Autotyme. We cant find a more reasonable, honest, knowledgeable, and friendly mechanic. He is worth the drive.

I needed to get a new timing belt for my car. After searching around for mechanics I called up autotyme since they had good reviews. After getting a quote I gave them a go ahead for the work. They did a great job and exceeded my expectations. I was worried about the price of labor since my car is from the east coast and the car was rusted out. They stuck to there quote and it was a very resonable price. They discovered a few other issues while taking apart the car and called me up to notify me of the issues.
