I received the best recommendations from two different employees while I was killing time during my husbandβs race. They listened to what I was interested in, and I came home with such incredible books, one of which might be an all-time favorite. Great space, better employees.
I love this place so much! It was so relaxing to take a couple hours and browse the store. All of the book selections are great and the store is very modern and clean. I love how they designed the place. I had their coffee and it was amazing!! I got this lavender latte (not sure of the exact name) but I highly recommend it. 10x better than Starbucks, for sure! One of the workers there (I didnt catch her name) gave me tons of book recommendations and made my experience that much better. I wish I got her name so I could give her a shout out but anyways, she was super nice and helpful! Great study area and all around great atmosphere to be in.
The most magical bookstore I have ever been to. Ms. Avery was just so darling with my daughters and genuinely assisted them in their findings. Thank you!
Great selection of books, and Samantha was super helpful to find a book that is outside my normal go-to, yet aligned with my interests. Iβll definitely be back to report on how the book is going ;)
What a great bookstore! The staff was so friendly and went above and beyond to help my 12 year old daughter find the perfect book about horses. The shop has so many cool features like a coffee and snack bar and a kids area complete with special hugging chairs and a secret door!
We discovered this place while visiting Waco. It was a really great experience. We ordered drinks and then looked around for books. Their Ambrosia drink is delicious, I would highly recommend. They have a great book selection and we ended up buying a couple. If youre in the area and like coffee and books I would recommend stopping in.
For me ; a bookshop is piece of heaven but when itβs a bookshop and a coffee place then itβs a whole heaven . Loved it loved it loved it! How Can I not fall in love with a bookshop with all beautiful bookish and literary stuff like : candles, bookmarks, teas, book darts, mugs, tumblers, tshirts,, pencils, notebooks, planners and so much more. Loved more itβs interior design with the sofas and chairs on corners β₯οΈ
Beautiful book store. Great selection, clean, organized, great environment. I love the kids book room, so cute and whimsical. Wish we lived closer Iβd be here all the time!
Wandered in after spending two days exploring every inch of the Siloβs. Admired their assortment of classics featuring unique cover art. Left feeling restored.
Fabled is probably the coolest bookstore Ive been to, and one of the hip places in Waco. A lot of my Baylor friends go here to study, get their caffeine fix, and reward themselves with a book after they complete a big project. The book themed menu is my personal favorite part, and my inner kid is always screaming when I order off of it. I also really enjoy reading the staff recommendations attached to the books. Fabled is always a good time.
Super cool bookstore and cafe. They have well-thought-out, literary-inspired signature drinks for young and adult.A great space for inspiration and deep thinkery.
Great selection of books with helpful descriptions. We really enjoyed their coffee and the cookies are fantastic. They also serve local beer. Just a great place to hang out and read fantastic books.
A must for all book lovers. Excellent recommendations and service by the crew. We will most definitely be back! Thank you, Natalie!
Stumbled on this shop while walking around downtown on vacation. SO MUCH FUN. Full of hidden treasures and details like...a single desk work nook which was an βintrovert-but-still-need-people-around-meββs dream (ME), a fur coat filled wardrobe in the kids space, library scented candles, a private room for events and activities, and some of the most stout espresso Iβve ever tasted. Really great find. Glad we made the stop.
LOVE Fabled! Their employees are top-notch. They can actually recommend books if you need recommendations (take a lesson, Barnes and Noble!). They are also so friendly and accommodating. In a world of poor customer service, Fabled rocks! Great book selection and atmosphere as well.
I cant really describe how much I love this place! Everything from the mural on the outside wall, to the decoration inside, to the snacks and drinks they serve is just perfect and I feel like it was designed for me specifically π They have a wonderful selection of books, and I love that they display ratings and reviews of some of their employees favorite books. This is very helpful in choosing a book if you arent looking for one specific and just want to find a good surprise. They have a super cute childrens area, and have lots of reading nooks and places to sit and enjoy your beverage, or enjoy a good book. I am so glad Waco finally got a local book shop like this.
Absolutely love this place! Great atmosphere, friendly people, and the cafe bookstore concept is genius!
This book store/coffee shop was super cute and a nice stop downtown. Book selection was way better than I was expecting. PLUS, if classics are your thing, their selection of classics are at least nicer or more unique editions, as opposed to what youll usually come across elsewhere. Would love to come back again when in town next.
Such a amazing and unique space in Waco. We really needed this gem! Also, dont tell anyone but I definitely went through the wardrobe kids door as a full grown adult!
Lots of interesting books. Great coffee and drink selections. A nice place to hang out with lots to see and do. Highly recommended!(Rating should be five stars, but they have not made mask wearing optional yet and seem to be intently focused on making sure you wear your mask at all times, even between sips of drinks)
A cute little book shop in the heart of Waco, Texas. They seemed to have a representation of virtually every literary genre, though I was not truly making a list. Categories are smallish but what this little bookstore lacks in inventory it more than makes up for in personality. Theres a small cafe inside, as well. And while this is normal and almost expected in todays indie book shops, there is both a delineation and a merging of the two herein. I was not approached for assistance but every person working smiled at me, making me feel welcome. This, friends, is an introverts haven. The place was crowded but I was happy to see it so; the holidays are upon us, after all. I was seeking a gift but sadly didnt find anything to fit my needs. But I will be back, because once my daughter sees it, shell be hooked!
If Barnes & Nobles is the Starbucks of the bookstore world, Fabled is the Intelligentsia! Seriously, BEST modern vibe for a bookshop/cafe Ive ever seen. The cafe side is great. They frequently have literary-themed drink menus and special events that they go all out for (Tolkien day was the bomb). And happy hour -> half off beer and wine is the icing on the cake.
We love this bookshop, especially the childrens room. So much to look at and so many comfy places to sit and relax!
This is an amazing new bookstore in Waco! I absolutely loved it. Theres areas where you can just sit down and read, areas to socialize in comfort, areas to drink your coffee or eat a pastry. Unlike Barnes and Noble, or your regular library, it doesnt have the stifling atmosphere of quiet, but its not noisy either. Theres an area for kids that looks real nice - kids can hang out and play while surrounded by books. Theres even the personal touch in the front of the store. The co-owners have displayed various different genres of books, some with little notes from the owners about why they liked that book.Only thing Id change: Id add Hot Chocolate to the drink menu of the cafe. Some days I know Ill come in and not find a book, and Ill still want to buy something from them - or some day I can see myself just settling in for a nice long read, and some hot chocolate would really help with that.Overall - Loved it!!!! Great place to study for students, or hang out, or meet up with friends.
Best bookshop in town. This place is so charming and we love visiting for story time. Avery is the best story lady in the land!! My kids love Aesop the Owl. The cafes chai latte is deliciously spicy. The kids enjoyed the Frobscottle because pop rocks in a drink?!
I love small bookstores & this one is at the top of my list! The childrens area is amazing & the coffee is grand!
The staff is really friendly, they have free Wi-Fi (they give you a voucher at the cafe), and a wide variety of books to choose from. Its also a nice place to chill and work on story notes
Such a lovely bookstore! I stop here every time I make the drive between Austin and Dallas to buy a book or two and a coffee. It has a fantastic kidβs selection as well.
One of the coolest bookstores Ive ever seen. Used it as a pit stop between DFW and Austin. Well worth the visit for book lovers.
Its a book shop, not a come and study for hours shop. I am not sure why all of the students are writing bad reviews when this place was not meant for you to study at. I graduated from Baylor, I know what finals week feels like, but you still need to have respect for this being a book store and there are several areas at campus that are for studying. People want to go here and browse books and drink their coffee, not have to fight for a seat because you have been sitting there for hours on your laptop. They arent catering to students, they created a bookstore to share with the community. If you are mad because your two hour wifi voucher isnt long enough, then leave. It is a bookshop - to read books. I love this place, its great and they often switch up their selection of books which is perfect.
My entire family loves this bookstore. My husband is a bookstore enthusiast and my 3 boys and I just tag along most of he time. Fabled is one of the bookstores I enjoy going to. It has an adorable and friendly kid section. It also has a great coffee and snack bar, they also have wine I believe. I also LOVE the way it is decorated. Its very unique.
Spontaneous stop on our way back from Austin. Such a warm, cozy spot with an array of publications and very friendly and knowledgeable staff! I will definitely make this a normal stop on my way to Austin!
Great local bookstore. Smart selections of quality books, not cheap airport paper backs. Good coffee, good food, good staff.
I love this place! I work right down the street so I come here often. All of the staff is great, but Erin is especially awesome. The drinks are delicious and it is a nice place to read or study. Highly recommended!
Nice little bookshop with cafe. They had several books I was interested in and a fun selection of other merch. I ended up purchasing a Bilbo Baggins leaf bookmark and a pin. Would definitely return!
This is a magical bookstore. It was well cultivated and well stocked. The staff recommendations are helpful and there is a lot of variety.
Amazing indie bookshop with incredible coffee!!! We loved all the staff suggestions!
Very cute shop. Great place to relax while reading and sip your coffee :)
This place is AMAZING!! We could have stayed all day! So precious and all the employees we spoke to were wonderful!
This is a pretty cool, full service book store. The coffee is excellent...they feature alcoholic and non-alcoholic brews. Table service.
Very nice place to hang out and grab coffee
My wife and I bought a bottle of wine here. The nice gals behind the bar gave us the bottle and a couple of glasses. After pouring the wine we realized it was cold. They had refrigerated it. We went back to the counter and asked them if it was in a fridge and they confirmed. We then explained how red wines like their cab are not served chilled. They promptly gave us a replacement bottle that was room temp perfection. No complaints. The wine was awesome and the atmosphere was perfect. Weβll definitely be back!
Such an inspiring and gorgeous place. I wanted to write a book just walking inside π
Favourite bookstore in Texas. So much authenticity.
I love this place so much! Perfect place to study
Umm when you walk in a store and you see a shirt that says Booklover you know I am sold! The coffee was amazing, staff super friendly. I know this must be a really popular spot because it was somewhat busy on a Sunday. Word of advice they have wifi codes that last up to two hours just to keep the traffic moving in and out. Great for kids and families with small kids. Themed drinks as well (if you are dairy free they have almond and coconut milks as and alternative option). Highly recommend if you are in the Waco area.
Awesome staff, great vibes, good book selection
Very fun local bookshop. Great atmosphere with a good kids area.
Gr8 stop, books and a cafe with goodies and coffee? π β yessssss
Nice bookstore/coffee shop. Nice place to study with good drinks and snacks.
Great atmosphere, nice book recommendations, good coffee, all good.
Great little local book shop. Very wise to put two super comfortable leather chairs right at the front for weary walkers coming from other local attractions. Great place to shop for books.
The place was nice. Lots of space to study, chill or hang! The book selection was nice as well. Not a lot of crafting books but its a not a tran store so i was fine with it.
Fantastic selection of books and drinks! Many books have staff recommendations which are really fun to read and makes you want to buy them all. The staff is very friendly and helpful with the books and drink selection. A beautiful store and cafe that I hope is around for years to come.
Awesome book shop! One of our favorite spots in Waco!
This is such a cute little bookstore that doubles as a great coffee shop and study spot. Definitely a hidden gem when compared to other coffee shops. The atmosphere is unique and the seating there is so comfortable unlike other places that just have normal tables and chairs. They also have a huge owl you should take a pic with!
Ah, Fabled. What a gem this place is! I love to get a cappuccino and just wander through the bookshelves. Usually Ill come here to buckle down and write at one of the cafe tables or couches or comfy arm chairs. The atmosphere is so pleasant and inviting its easy to stay for hours. There are lots of plants and natural light. And of course, when I have friends in town, I have to take them here just to walk through the kid-sized Narnia wardrobe (complete with fur coats) that leads into the childrens book section. If you love books or coffee and want a comfortable place to sit and enjoy them, I highly recommend this place.
Delicious food & coffee & cool book selection!!
One of my favorite bookstores!! The staff recommendations are always spot on, there are beautiful editions of wonderful classics, and the food and beverage is just the coziest. I always find myself back here whenever Iβm in town.
Lovely Local Bookstore. Love the childrenβs section. Delicious coffee and fresh sandwiches. Friendly and helpful staff. I love the staff reviews of the books!
Great ambiance, fantastic coffee, and very friendly staff. Try the Ambrosia!
My favorite bookstore! Kind employees, great atmosphere.
Very knowledgeable manager, great atmosphere, good selections
The Catcher in the Chai is my favorite!!!
A very chill and relaxed space to drink good coffee and look at books. Great atmosphere and friendly staff.
Great book selection and wonderful coffee! What a great place to sit and read or play a game π
Can I just say how cute and wonderful this bookshop is?? I was looking for a gift for my boyfriends friend coming into town. The staff was very friendly and I was overjoyed by the fact that they had mystery books!! I got to pick a book based on descriptions. It was a surprise, even to me! He loved it! Also, I go here just for the iced cream Earl grey( 2 stevia and some milk). It is the best iced Earl grey I have ever had!
Great atmosphere. Love the staff recommendations!
Cutest Book store! Great book selection! Coffee shop inside and the staff is very friendly. Great vibes!
Such a cool place to browse and enjoy coffee.
This is a Waco must stop! Our family is especially a fan of the childrenβs section. I canβt help but buy a stack of books every time we stop by.
The best FABLED release since 1995 Timothy McViegh in Oklahoma 1995 with Nashville ATT explosion and Vegas Mandalay Bay for the Breach WMD treaty signed at UPS since the WACO siege
Interesting selection of books and a coffee bar
Fabled is a warm and welcoming place. No they may not have the massive selections of a Barnes & Nobles, but I guarantee you will find things youd never find in a big box store. The food and drink are also wonderful! The staff are always kind and helpful with anything i have ever needed. Long live the bookshop!
This shop has a great atmosphere. The salespeople are helpful but not pushy. The cafe is a nice touch. You can get a coffee and get comfy on one of the sofas or reading nooks. Also, its great to know that this is an independent shop so your money goes right back into our community.
