Derek got me in on short notice to do a transmission fluid change. Even being short handed, he changed the fluid and checked all other fluids and even my brakes. Very nice and professional, I felt at ease and confident that the work was done correctly. This place was the greatest thing that has happened to my car. I have an Impreza 2002 and the previous owner used the car up and left it in really bad shape. These people have repaired it and made it really great to use again. When I got my car back it felt like a completely different car. They did miracles in my car and all at good pricing. I will start off by saying they did kind of fixed the problem. But it took them 2.5 days when it should’ve taken them a day. Man, this guy (Derek) was extremely rude to me. Not sure if it’s because I’m a POC or not. Even the front desk lady (Arecelli) told him to calm down with me. When he told me it was done, it wasn’t- they were still out test driving it. He was just so disrespectful and I definitely didn’t feel welcome there! That was the last time I’ll ever go there- don’t go there unless you have extra money and like to be yelled at.

Performed a prepurchase inspection of a used car I was interested in. They completed it faster than expected, gave me the run down of what they did and even topped off the oil and tire pressure for me. Our car died in San Francisco at 9:30 at night last June in the middle of our vacation. We were stunned as we had already spent over $3,000 on repairs back in May in Texas. We were directed to Derek and AAMCO after looking at a dealer, and not having enough $$ for their prices. Derek moved repairs to our car up in their schedule, took us back to our hotel, picked us up and helped us not feel so far from home. The repairs were done so quickly, with a price we could afford, and even did a secondary repair at low price and high speed in order to help get us back on our way home. We are forever grateful to Derek and his entire crew, and cannot recommend his business highly enough!

Derek is truly a phenomenal human being. A few years back, my car broke down and the engine seized just before the Caldecott tunnel. I had my car towed to AAMCO in Walnut Creek by pure luck. He determined that my engine needed replacement which was going to be quite costly. I agreed to proceed with the engine replacement after talking to Derek. After this discussion with Derek, he researched further and found out that my engine was recalled and that the dealership would replace free of charge. Even though Derek didnt end up working on my vehicle, we was incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and went way beyond the call of duty to help me when my van broke down with a fried transmission 250 miles from home. He truly cares about people. I would absolutely have had him do the job, except my shop at home was willing to tow me there so they could fix the issue they caused. I rarely write reviews, but Derek really deserves this acknowledgement!! He gets 5 stars from me for his timely and thorough service, talking me through all of the steps and finding parts for the van quickly, and then being willing to squeeze me in given my urgent situation. Ive been taking my cars to Derek and his team for a while now. First it was my Camry which needed a water pump, and radiator. When it developed a severe oil leak after going over a poorly designed driveway Derek gave me a no bs assessment, and I said goodbye to my Camry. Now his team does everything from oil changes to a drain and fill, and inspection on my transmission. I highly recommend this shop.

The transmission on my truck was making an odd noise and had been rebuilt almost 2 years ago by AAMCO and paid for under a Carmax Maxcare Warranty. With literally only a week left under warranty I brought the truck back to AAMCO and found that the part that had failed was a hard part that is not replaced during a rebuild. Carmaxs Maxcare warranty funds the cheapest possible repair which meant my transmission was rebuilt instead of putting in a more reliable remanufactured transmission. The owner of this Walnut Creek AAMCO, Derek went above and beyond to help me remedy the issue that arose because of Carmaxs funding of a cheap bandaid of a repair. For an amazing deal, AAMCO installed a remanufactured transmission that runs smooth and will provide years of reliable performance. I am an essential worker and Derek even provided me with a loaner vehicle while the new transmission was shipped to the shop and installed allowing me to keep my job and keep the public safe.I am fairly critical in my reviews, but I do not have a single criticism for my experience with AAMCO in Walnut Creek. The repair was fast and is solid. The customer service is above and beyond. Many thanks to Derek and his crew, so happy to have my truck back.

I finally found an auto repair shop I totally trust. Derek Steve Whitey Fallon and the crew are the best. They are friendly, professional and fair in their estimates. Ive had two experiences with them. The first was to rebuilt my transmission and the second was to repair the master brake cylinder. Derek even called me subsequently to the transmission repair to alert me about a recall that would result my being reimbursed by General Motors. They explained everything to me and even took me under the lift and showed me exactly what was wrong with my vehicle. They also will provide you with a loaner vehicle for free when one is available. I highly recommend them for all your vehicle repairs.

Best mechanics weve had in the 13 years, five states, and 228,000 miles weve had this car. Whitey & Derrek are honest and up front with assessments, costs, and priorities. Im hoping to make it to 300,000 miles with my old car and they seem to understand the balance of taking care of my car but not dumping money into it that wont make a difference in how its operating. Last week I took my car in and they did a great job of getting it tuned up for an out of town trip. Derek and his team have been taking care of our cars since 2011.Always great service and they back their work. About a year ago they discovered that my struts were going bad. Since they had just replaced them a few months before, they warrantied them and replaced them for free. Hard to find a shop you can trust, but Derek will always take care of you.

Much more than transmissions. So I did take my RV there, challenging to work on a big vehicle. They replaced my transmission and tuned it in for me, its has now been over a year and its been working great. So naturally I came back when I needed something else. I came back and I had a manifold issue, they repaired it but the issue came back. Now one might say well they didnt fix it right the first time. No, they did but the part they were dealing with was bad. So they got me in, fixed it and charged me zero. They stood behind their work. I was ready for a battle, they gave me a smile and a handshake. Solid, solid folks down there. I dont post much at all, unless you are exceptional. So here is my post.

This facility is really a standout among the repair shops that I know. Everything is admirable - the reception area, the troubleshooting of what needs to be repaired and the communication while the vehicle is in their shop. My car is a 1999 Isuzu Rodeo that needed transmission repair. Understandably, spare parts are already hard to find but they did not stop until they were able to procure the needed parts to repair it. While in the process, they always kept me updated and when the repair was finally completed, it was amazing. A week after delivery, I found out that there was something wrong with the repaired transmission. I returned to them and the issue was immediately resolved without additional charges. By the way, the cost is really reasonable, considering the age of my vehicle. Whenever needed, I will again go to them for my vehicle repairs.

They were able to fix my engine light problem which had previously been diagnosed as requiring a new catalytic converter (costing about $1000 in California). Trust me when I say that they really know what there doing I have a limited edition Honda Civic si Mugen it’s not the best car ever but wouldn’t trust anyone else with it but them, I had them replace my clutch and they did an excellent job. I had my car towed there about two weeks ago it was making a loud grinding noise didn’t want to drive it there, had them check it out turns out it was only my exhaust it was loose and missing a bolt a rookie mistake from me not figuring that one out. But anyways that tells me something and should let you guys know also that they are honest people and know what there doing because they really could have made up a lie and said something else was wrong and charged me thousands of dollars but they didn’t, I will always bring my car to them when I need work done too it. I have a 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 truck and I had transmission problems. The people a AMCCO were great and friendly, they worked with me and the parts I bought for the transmission. It took a while, but it was worth the wait. Rarely do you find a honest shop, and I found one. You pay for the work that is done and its fair, they have to make a living too. But the true sign of a honest shop is their integrity to stand behind their work. If you go in there and think positive, you will be satisfied and build a relationship. Bottom line is you get what you put into it and if you are looking for a deal go to Walmart.

Where do I begin? I would give these guys 6 stars if I could.Theyve been taking my car for over 5 years, and Ive never encountered a better set of mechanics. Not only are they incredibly sharp and know cars like the back of their hand -- they are friendly and honest! The following is just a few ways theyve helped me out over the years.- My airbag light popped on, so when I took it in for an oil change, I asked them to check it out. They correctly diagnosed it as a problem with the seatbelt sensor and recommended I take it to the dealership, since they figured it would be covered by a lifetime safety warranty. They were right! The dealership did the repair for free. If theyd been less than honest, AAMCO could have charged me hundreds for the repair, but they were looking out for my best interests.- I messed up my car pretty badly when I hurt a curb. They took a careful look at it and recommended that I talk to an underbelly specialist to make sure I got the right diagnosis and repair. Theyve also offered great advice on car maintenance, my best strategy for buying a used car, and how to stretch my dollar when performing repairs. I had a shop closer to work do my oil changes before and that other shop recommended a number of flushes, some of which were not necessary. AAMCO Walnut Creek made sure I only spent the money I needed to spend, and they offered a better rate than the other place. I drive all the way from Oakland because I trust them to take care of my car.

These guys did good work on a brake job for me. They finished the job promptly for a fair price. I would do business with them again.

A few weeks ago we sent our 2007 Saturn Ion in to have the 100,000 mile checkup. They uncovered several problems that needed repair. A few needed serious attention, and I am glad that Derrick suggested the 100,000 mile checkup, or these serious issues would never had been uncovered.
