When we talk about excellent service, customer orientation, super fast delivery we are talking about The Sewing Machine Shop and the excellent team of employees!Pedro
I bought a industrial juke machine from these guys. I cannot say how amazing a experience it was! Im so happy I made the drive from Reno. My machine was put together and ready for pick up on super short notice. When I arrived to pick it up, the owner took tons of time showing me the machine and teaching me the basics of using it and also care and up keep. If you are in market for a new machine, these guys are super pro and very helpful and friendly! I cannot recommend them more!
Wonderful shop. So helpful when I hadnt even bought my machine from them. Went back later and did buy a new sewing machine from Nisa.
Walnut Creek Sewing Machine Shop consistently provides quality service and support to the sewing community. Im so impressed each time I call, with how knowledgeable the staff is, and willingness to work on old machines. Way to go Walnut Creek Sewing Machine Shop!!
Today I brought my machine in because I needed help threading the needle. Misa was so helpful and patient. I left feeling confident that I could do it on my own. Weeks earlier, Toni helped me select the rightmachine for my needs.I highly recommend buying your machine here, as they service what they sell.
This place deserves six or seven stars! Extremely knowledgeable staff who really take the time to help you figure out what you need for what you want to do and how to get the best fit for what you want to spend. Great prices. All that is great, but I feel the measure of a place is really what happens when something doesnt go as planned. I had a problem with a new machine that was not caused by them, and they went way above and beyond to get me a replacement machine as soon as possible. Definitely recommend very highly!
First, I have never been into the store and have heard really positive things from sewing friends, so I want to check them out, but I have called a few times looking for feet for my Bernina 535 and the woman who has answered my calls was extremely unfriendly and has not offered to special order feet or accessories and just kind a said “nope we don’t have that, bye”. I want to support local sewing machine stores but they are making it challenging to say the least. Today, after a very unhelpful conversation with this store, I called Sew Images in Oakland, and while she also did not have the foot in stock she checked to see that she has it on order and took my phone number for when it comes in. I work in customer service, so I know about answering calls and just being tired of trying to address people’s questions but these guys are not making me want to drive the 30 minutes to check out their store, sorry.
This place is really great, they fixed my machine in no time and the parts and labor were much cheaper than buying a new machine and my machine is as good as new! Thank you
Dan at The Sewing Machine Shop is the best thing since sliced bread! He got back to me late on a Friday during a pandemic to troubleshoot BY SOUND ALONE what was going on with my Juki. Obviously, he said, he couldnt really diagnose it without seeing it in person and I totally get that. But he tried based on what he heard on my video, and made some educated guesses. One of his guesses turned out to be right, and was something I was able to take care of myself, right there at home. He emailed back and forth with me several times until I had a good sense of what to do. I was on an urgent deadline, and have essential workers counting on me to make face masks for them. I was able to complete the face masks and get them where they needed to go. Im super impressed with Dan. Everybody at the shop has been great in the past, but this time, you really went above and beyond, and I thank you!
After months of research and debate I saw the website for this place, including Dans discussion of brands he recommended. When I contacted him regarding the quilting machines I was considering, he listened and made a recommendation for a model that I had not even known about. I looked at the link and information he sent, and it was perfect! I ordered it just as the Covid-19 crisis hit, because of that he arranged for me to receive the machine shipped direct from Juki. Part of the shipment took longer than the rest, however, he and his staff were wonderful at helping me track everything down and answering all my questions. They are all very pleasant and knowledgeable people, doing a magnificent job during a difficult time.
A big giant THANK YOU! I was making donation face masks. My machine stopped (timing off) & after fussing with 2 others without luck Barbara (who volunteers & raises money for Fisher house) gave me a machine donated by the sewing machine shop so I can continue. I do quilting & now face masks for charity because I am a disabled veteran & unable to work, yet I need to be productive for societys sake.So Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
Unbelievable customer service! I ordered a sewing machine from my local quilt shop last spring when my machine couldnt be repaired. Covid-19 hit and receiving it was delayed indefinitely. After waiting two months, I sought somewhere else for a specific juki machine and was coming up empty handed. Finally I called sewingmachineshop.comFirst they wanted to make sure I had pursued a local Juki dealer which impressed me. Then they had the exact machine I was looking for and shipped it to me at no cost that very day in June. I was in tears.Fast forward to today when I discovered one of the expensive feet for the machine had broken. I emailed their shop to ask if I could have it repaired or needed to buy a new one and they responded immediately to request my address to send me a new foot at no cost.Hats off to people doing business right! Thank you!
Extremely helpful with my new embroidery machine. Explained my problem and they new exactly what I needed.
The staff is awesome......friendly, knowledgeable...there to help you. Went above and beyond to help me.. will definitely refer too all my sewing friends.Thank you.
Anyone interested in getting a new or used sewing machine? This is the only place you need to visit. The staff is excellent and more importantly.....very patient. They have great classes at reasonable prices. They stand behind the products they sell and their sewing machine repair work.Dan is absolutely amazing, very knowledgeable and fair.Love this place!
Love love love the service here. I drive 2 hrs each way Worth every minute. Knowledgeable and friendly staff!
The Sewing Machine Shop is a rare find. I have been doing business with them since 1997. I wont let anyone but Dan and Marty service my machines. They are the best and they back all of their work. I moved to Nevada City in 1999 and the quality of service is well worth the trip. The staff is extremely helpful and will take whatever time they need to help me.It doesnt hurt at all that they all have a great sense of humor and we laugh all the time. It is refreshing to me to do business with an honest business that takes the time to give excellent customer service. A++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Excellent place to have your sewing machines repaired or serviced and for machine parts and notions.
I went in to browse and I left with a machine. I never once felt pressured in my decision to buy. I was asked what my budget was and we went from there. I feel like I received high end service. These are people that I really believe in the merchandise they sell because they use it too. Toni was a peach!
Always helpful when I’m shopping and the classes are excellent in knowledge and also fun
WowSheila just knows everything about machines and sewing! She is calm as a cucumber and can figure out and fix with magical ease! She was so kind and helpful to me last weekThank you Sheila!!Virginia
Very nice to deal with. Thank you for helping me choose my big girl sewing machine.
Dropped off my sewing machine for service with a very friendly woman and explained to her my plight and she uplifted me and encouraged me. Returned to pick it up from an onry woman who felt the need to condescendingly chastise me for the jam in my machine, while I paid her. I wont return as I dont make a habit of paying for abuse.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Took a look at my machine no charge, as it wouldnt do what I took it in there for. Will definitely keep coming back, if only the drool over the machines.. Kathy Anderson
In my need for a sewing machine product, I located this shop.I am so pleased that I found the shop and discovered how helpfulthis office was. The product I need had to be custom made andit was completed and sent to me readily, It works beautifully and
Frustrated with my experience with local stores I went to Walnut Creek based on the reviews. By the time I got there I had pretty high expectations and they were more than met. Tony took all the time I needed to explain and let me try out. I left with a Janome HD 3000 and am very happy with it. Retail the way it should be, thanks Tony
I have been buying my Janome machines here for years. Just bought my fourth one!The people in the store are all great - the store staff, and Dan - owner/ repair guru.Everyone is paitent, listens, and helps you understand your choices. They all know their machines. They sell several other brands as well.I highly recommend them.
I use to love this shop. But every time I go in or call, im either told they will call me back because there busy with another customer, or they do not have time to get me the info needed. After spending 25K on 3 differnt machines and cabinet you would think they could give better customer service. Very disapointed in the service these days.
My first experience was when I took in my Bernina sewing machine for service (its first in 13 years). The repair guy asked if it had been dropped as it had things wrong with it he had never seen before. Could it be that was because my daughter packed it in the bottom of a suitcase and flew it to Washington D.C.? He got it working beautifully and for the normal service price quoted in spite of the extra work needed. Next I took a free class there sponsored by Babylock to showcase their new Destiny embroidery machine. The class was excellent - they have a room set up for teaching/learning and we each had our own machine to work on. They even served a delicious lunch (made by the wife of one of the owners, we were told). I purchased a machine from them in part because of the confidence I have over the help they promised to provide on any issue I have. The employees know lots about sewing and I am sure that what they dont know they will find out. Furthermore, when I called to find out how to get a new manual for my daughters machine, they first researched online and said found where I could get it for $20, then they said wait, spent a few more minutes searching online, and directed me to a place where I could download it for free. Sorry to be so wordy, but this is a terrific shop that aims to serve and will be the only sewing shop I patronize from now on!
Great service, great products! I am excited about my new machine and the coming classes!
I wish i could give less then one star. This place is truly trying to rip people off.Ive been sewing for the better part of 2 decades. When my machine started acting up I knew that it would be a simple fix. I brought it to the Sewing Machine Shop and let them know what was happening. The women toke me and my machine into there classroom to see if she would figure out what the problem was. She messed with it a little bit and told me that it would cast between $120 to $200 to fix and I would just buy a new one at a similar price point. I was stunned, the machine was only 2 years old and is basic mechanical machine. I have never paid that much for a repair and I have had some major repairs to my machines in the last. In the Past I have paid $80 for a tune up and cleaning, about $90- $100 for basic repair and only once have I had to pay $120 for a major fix.I indulged her and tried out some machines. I found one that I would like but before I made the purchase I thought better of it. I contacted a couple of my sewing friends and asked where they take there machines. I toke my machine to there suggested shop and like I suspected the cleaning and repair of my Machine only cost me $90.Sewing Machine Shop is not intrested in helping anyone out with there current machine, there are only intrested in selling you a machine that you dont need. Dont waste you time or money. Take you machine to a place that will actually repair it not lie to you and sell you an expensive replacement.
Really helpful staff, they take you to check all the machines, give you professional advice on what youd like and how far you want to take your sewing experience. The machines are Bernina, Janome, Necchi and Julie.
Classes for Get To Know Your Serger and Get To Know Your Sewing Machine with Linda are really excellent, recommending this to all my friends
There are two Janome dealers closer to me, but the folks at the Sewing Machine Shop were the most helpful, straightforward and honest with me, so I drove the extra miles. When I got there, I was helped by Janet, who is extremely knowledgeable, patient, and helpful. She really knows these machines! She spent TWO HOURS with me, while I test drove three different models. I ended up purchasing the 8200 Horizon (LOVE IT!!) which they had priced at a substantial discount from MSRP. Then they threw in the large extension table, the soft cover, and a few other goodies at no extra charge! On top of that, they gave me a VERY generous trade-in on my 15-yr-old Bernina, which was barely limping along with a bent needle bar. I think I got the Deal of the Century!I cant tell you how happy I am with my experience with these folks, AND with my new sewing machine!
Great notions, knowledgeable staff, top end machines, classes, and repairs.
Good repair service! Average prices.
It was so comforting in there, i Trust it there, some things you just KNOW :)
