I spent 30 minutes online looking for a service that would print a digital photo for me. It was difficult, because at the time I thought the image was an odd size. When I found Newtonville Cameras online photo ordering service, I discovered that my photos size was not odd at all - it was one of their standard printing sizes!My photo turned out absolutely beautifully. It was printed in a timely manner, and the attitude of the salespeople when I went to pick it up was courteous and professional throughout the entire transaction. The staff member I worked with even tried to help me find a frame, and when he was unable to, he suggested other resources.Im going to switch all of my online photo ordering over to Newtonville Camera now. Their service is impeccable.The photo I have attached is a photo of the print they made for me, and definitely does not do the picture justice. I am so pleased with the results.

I am an orthodontist (I take clinical teeth photos every day) and my Rebel Canon camera stopped working. Called, went same day, they knew immediately what happened (lens broke!), searched all over their office and found a fitting lens (orders are in back order and taking forever) and left their store with a perfectly working camera! LIFE SAVERS! Went back to work next day with a perfect camera and no work interruptions. Everyone was so helpful and attentive. THANK YOU so much!!! Highly recommend!

Newtonville camera does a great job developing film and is one of the only games in town for black and white. Prices are reasonable for the quality and knowledge they bring to the table. I tried out some mail away places and other development systems--youre playing roulette with that stuff. If you want your film handled correctly, just go here.

I came here to take the passport photos - The staff is nice, the process is quick, the service is great. The photographer is very friendly and attentive, he made sure I was satisfied with my photos and let me do the retakes. Highly recommend!

Purchasing expensive camera equipment requires careful consultation. I came to Newtonville Camera to purchase a telephoto lens for my budding photographer son, who also happens to be on the autism spectrum. After discussing his needs and wants with Joshua Lavine, a recommendation was made for a particular Tamron lens. It was a big investment, so I went home and did some research. After reading glowing reviews for this lens, I purchased it from Newtonville Camera. We have been so pleased with the product and the results! It was very reassuring to have staff expertise and guidance from Mr. Lavine. I’ve also had my son’s camera cleaned there. Exceptional service and quality products – you’re in good hands at this specialty store!

I live in downtown Boston and our family has usually gone to Bromfield Camera for our occasional camera needs, so I didnt even discover Newtonville Camera until my camera broke recently and I learned that Bromfield has closed. This turned out to be a blessing, as Newtonville is worth the extra drive to Watertown for its extremely courteous, knowledgeable, helpful customer service. Ive been working with Josh on repair initially, then ultimate replacement of my Nikon L840, and he has been very patient and informative with my questions as the situation changed. I also good about patronizing a quality small business instead of a chain such as Best Buy.

Good place to buy photo equipment or get professional advice. Its also nice to know they offer camera and lens repair - not on site, they send them somewhere, but the staff can give professional opinion at the store.

Not only was the staff able to help resuscitate the cameras, but extremely patient and resourceful in helping me learn the basics of film photography (first time for me). Great camera, photo, and film store. Glad to see a small business that still has a wide variety of products in a niche market, with new items and competitive prices. Got film developed and scanned here. Staff is always helpful. Good amount of used camera gear as well.Only complaint is that the the standard film scan quality is somewhat low, and increasing to 6MP is a ridiculous price increase. Makes me want to just mail my film elsewhere. Where you can get 6MP standard, or for only about $2 more per roll.

Its a cute little shop with amazing workers who are all extremely kind. If you are just getting into photography these people will help you out.

The folks at NV Camera have been processing a lot of film for me lately and I cant say how fortunate I feel to have a lab nearby that can still do a great job of it at a fair price. The best part is that its usually done same day. I do wish the basic scans were somewhat higher resolution, but they do well on the color. Shoot some film, its fun. The camera guys know what theyre talking about if you need advice on gear. Theres always a tempting classic in the used case, too. Cheers.

I brought an old FE2 to Newtonville Camera to have the film rewind crank repaired. I arrived shortly before their closing time and was pleasantly surprised when they made the repair while I waited. They are all extremely knowledgeable and seem to be genuinely interested in taking care of their customers. It has always been an excellent experience when I have gone to them over the years. I would recommend getting your film scanned somewhere else.Standard develop + scan is $26, and the scans are 1512 x 1002 pixels which is ridiculous. If you want medium develop + scans, 6 million pixels, thats $2.85 PER PICTURE, which is $112 for 36 exposures. Flat out ridiculous. Im very disappointed with the quality of my scans considering I paid $26. They did salvage a roll I had ripped, which was very nice of them and they did that for free.Ill be sending my stuff to The Dark Room, or any other film store, from now on. A develop + scan to 4492×6774 pixels is $20 from them, and they upload your files to the internet, which Newtonville does not do. Newtonville still puts your scans on a CD and it is $5 extra to get a USB drive. Maybe try Dropbox Business, its $60/month for unlimited storage.

Visiting Boston area and had an issue with my Nikon D5000. They resolved it immediately, clarified a few other other questions I had and didnt charge me anything. To top it off the tech also provided directions to a nearby microbrewery!

I came in the middle of a weekday, and they were still popping. Tons of knowledgeable staff, and they have a database of proportions for passport/visa photos for many foreign countries. Much better than any drugstore photo center.

I was looking for weeks for a Sony Alpha a7 III and it seems it was sold out everywhere in the country. Found it here. Great service (Chris helped me through everything). As they dont have much information online its definitely worth giving a call, they can arrange almost everything.

Went here for a Schengen visa photo and the service was great. In and out in under 15 minutes. They know the specifications and the prices are competitive. 19$ for 8 photos.

These people are a rare find! While I was en route to a client appt., I realized I left my tripod at home - 3 hours away. Explained my situation and they promptly supplied the exact Manfrotto Tripod I needed - at a ridiculously fair price. Hard to find photo equipment shops this good!

Helpful and knowledgeable staff. Although I didnt get to use their repair service (fair cost but I had no time), I was able to walk around the store and see that they cater to people with different brands of cameras and lenses.

The ticket stub that was handed to my husband for the work to be completed had the wrong address & wrong phone number. I spent 45 min trying to get to the store to pick up the photos. When I finally arrived the woman who waited on me never dealt w my suggestions that new stubs be printed w the correct address & phone number; the new location has been open for 5 months. The salesperson kept changing the subject while I was talking. I asked that the owner or manager call me, which has not happened.

The only place which does passport and Visa photos based on the rules set by various countries. Do not spend your money on places like cvs or Walgreens to get passport or Visa photo.
