Purchased flooring and installation from J. Lane recently. We had them come estimate it earlier in the year and had to wait until the weather warmed so we could have the floor installed because of radiators that needed removed. We paid for the flooring in advance. However we called to have installation done and were told we had ordered cash and carry. After many calls and no reply we finally sent an email with our estimate for installation and flooring. Now I had already called and paid for.the flooring. I then got a bill for an additional 600 dollars that hadnt been charged when I called to pay. Flooring was installed a couple of weeks ago and have tried many times to contact someone about this additional charge and still havent heard anything back. The installers did a great job. . But customer service has been horrid. Not understanding why when you call to pay they apparently forget to charge you everything owed for the flooring..

This would have been our 2nd time using J Lane. The first was carpet we bought 6 years ago. We tried to purchase the best carpet there was for our newly remodeled basement. The install was not the best. Carpet seams still show to this day as they did on day one. A second home visit was required so that we could close our bathroom door against the carpet (door swings over laminate not carpet but carpet was abutting the bathroom door). So not such good luck with the install which was done by a outside contractor not a Lane employee - you might want to know who will be doing the work, our installer was not very well experienced. As the years have passed our 20 year carpet is in year 6. Its not going to make 10 from the looks of it. We have no children and pets are not an issue. There are just the two of us in the house. Its just not the quality of carpet we paid for or were led to believe we were purchasing. It was simply misleading sales work.Recently we went back to get some laminate for a bathroom. I have made 5 trips and am now giving up on them. They closed their showroom randomly one week. There was just a note on the front door saying they were closed for the week. No explanation. When I asked on my next trip to the store I was told they were overwhelmed with installations and that was their answer to being overwhelmed, just shut down. Seems to me you could simply tell customers you are backed up. But no, instead I had to drive 27 miles to find out they just randomly closed. Google said they were open. Could you imagine if you had a problem during that week? But is gets better. We come back when they do open up and there is no one in the store. We waited 13 minutes in the showroom and there was no one to be found. When we did find someone in the back they couldnt find our estimate. Eventually they found the person who came to our house but he hadnt done the estimate yet from more than two weeks before! I was given the promise they would send it though. When it did arrive it was not for the work I had them come out for, it was an estimate for the future project I was planing! I am so frustrated. Since they dont even know what work I wanted done I decided they are just too scary of a place to do business with. There are lots of other places to go to. Im just sad that I spent so much time with them out of a false sense of loyalty. It was a complete waste of our time over weeks and weeks of waiting and trips made. It was even a waste of their own time. Its no wonder they cant get jobs finished or keep the store open. We will not be going back. I know they will remain in business but I would advise future customers to access the current situation with the business before doing business with them and by all means know exactly who will be installing the product and what level of experience and skill they have before you proceed with a purchase . Dont accept the notion that all of their installers are theirs much less that they all know what they are doing.

From the moment I walked in the showroom to the moment the floors were finished. Pricing was excellent & installation costs were the best we had gotten in estimates. Seth was very helpful and accommodating especially under unique circumstances to take over the installation after our contractor cancelled on us. He helped get our project back on track and we could not be more pleased. Alejandro the installer was very professional, meticulous and made sure we liked everything! I highly recommend JLane Flooring & Design.Thank you for all your help, we will be using you again soon!Dan, Mary & Grant

Good luck here, was misled on inventory which I discovered after showing up to the store and even several phones calls after that to them they still didnt call us back. All said, all our time was wasted and we ended up buying from a competitor.🤔

Seth was awesome! He helped us decide what would be the best investment for our home while considering what he could give the best deals on. On top of selling carpet he provided tons of advice for refinishing our old wood floors.Their installation crew was courteous and didnt scratch the newly painted walls and baseboards. They were fast and everything looked very nice. When we found an imperfection he had someone out that week to fix it.

J Lane has a very nice showroom and the staff is very helpful in the showroom. They were patient with us while we took a lot of time (and samples) deciding what type of tile we wanted in our kitchen and foyer area. Once we finally made the decision, it didnt take long for the product to come in and the work to be scheduled. The job involved removing our old ceramic tile and replacing it with new ceramic tile laid in a herringbone pattern. The work began in October 2019. It was fully finished the week before Christmas. Therein lies my utter disappointment. We were told it would take about 2 weeks. It took approximately 8 weeks for a simple tear out and re-do of ceramic tile. There was nothing special about the job aside from the herringbone pattern we requested; however, tear-out of the old tile took 2 full weeks. Yes. You read that correctly. We lived with two small kids having to tip-toe around bits that had been completed each day. I was shocked when we came home the first day and the contractor had only been able to tear out an approximate 5 square foot portion. We questioned why there was only a single contractor doing the tear-out but we reserved any judgement and didnt ask questions because he was very nice and knowledgable. As days turned to weeks, that turned to months, my patience ended and we gave a hard-stop deadline. The floors are absolutely beautifully done. We love them and the contractor did a fantastic job. My disappointment is with the time it took which, I think most would agree, is absolutely unacceptable. I am unsure who manages the projects as they are assigned to the subcontractors, but the project was mismanaged. First, there is no way only one contractor should have been doing tear-out. With two or more, the tear-out would have take one day, not 2 weeks. Second, once J Lane realized how long the job was taking, they should have sent help for the contractor who was struggling to get the job completed in a timely manner, or at the very least, called us to apologize for the delay between their estimate of 2 weeks and the 2 months it took to complete. All of this said, we would use J Lane again. The 2 stars removed are strictly based on poor project planning and communication. J Lane is fairly priced but it is certainly not cheap. Its in the upper range of cost, but the quality is good. For the price you pay, the job should be done efficiently with little inconvenience to the customer - especially given that this was replacing ceramic tile with ceramic tile. We were sorely disappointed with the project but the end product is beautiful, the quality of both the product and installation itself (i.e., tile cuts, edging, grout, etc.) is stunning. The contractor did high-quality work; however 2 months was unacceptable. When we use J Lane in the future, we will certainly make clear the timing expectations, and we take responsibility for not doing so from the beginning. In sum, the showroom staff, product, and installation at J Lane are great. Just be very clear with them on your expectations of project completion to avoid what happened to us.

We were looking for a mid-grade carpet or laminate. The salesmen here was high-strung and couldnt sell their product without speaking poorly about other products. I do believe they have high quality products but the price tag was too high for us. Unless your really looking to invest it doesnt seem like they are willing to help you.
