I’m so lucky that my office is a few doors down from City Place. Great place for a morning coffee and bagel, and I love their lunches! The sandwiches, wraps and paninis are absolutely delicious, every single time and there’s a huge variety of options. Salad bowls are a generous size and always fresh. The menu is tweaked seasonally and everything is prepared with care (current favorite is the ham, Brie and green apple panini OMG so good).Joe-Ed will give you a big smile when you come in and all the staff are super friendly and have an uncanny ability to remember everyone’s names. It has such a great vibe.My office has ordered catering from City Place a few times - their bagged lunches are always a huge hit. Individual bags containing sandwiches, fruit, potato chips and a cookie - very covid-safe but also delicious and fun.If you’re a regular, I recommend using the app to order ahead, it’s so easy.

This place is absolutely delicious and their seasonal menu is always worth coming back for! Any meal you get could easily be eaten in one sitting, but are large enough to last for two. Couldnt recommend them enough!

The sausage breakfast burrito is fantastic. Friendly service as well. Definitely recommend if in the area.

This place here is hands down the best. You dont need to stop at that Joes place across the street. Just come here where everything is awesome. Coffee is always fresh and perks you up for your day on the daily grind. The staff is friendly and always delivering a great experience. Ignore 1 star Bob down the comment section. I was here and he didnt have a mask on. I stand by the owner on that.

Visited Washington for the day and someone recommend this place. The owner was phenomenal, he was courteous and an absolute joy to speak to. My daughters and husband throughly enjoyed the food and when we visit Washington again this will definitely be our go to. People make a difference, customer service is everything!

I love small businesses and City Place has been one of my favorite places to grab delicious fresh food for an amazing price. I am a huge fan of their seasonal menu so I always recommend people go back to try their new options, but you cant go wrong with their classics either.

Solid deli. Really my kind of place when it comes to grabbing a sandwich. Lots of pre-set cold and hot menu items, or build your own. They had gyros and falafel on special, so hoping to get back and try either or both of those. Welcome break from the chain sandwich shops.

The Tuscan and the cali wrap really hit the spot, the service was great and the place is very clean. 10/10 lunch

I come often to DC for work and usually I would go to potbelly. Today I was recommended this place and all I have to say is potbelly just lost a customer -- sandwich was fantastic!

A great place with the best owners and staff, fantastic food-especially the breakfast sandwiches & coffee, the soups & sandwiches, and salads.Everything here is reasonably priced, top quality, and homemade!I am in here almost daily and it is one of my favorite DC spots!

There is a tall big guy behind the counter who threatens his customers after you ask him one simple question about the menu and curses you out.I wouldn’t recommend going there if you don’t want to get yelled at. Even trying to be nice and respectful won’t work for you.

A run for your money. Imagine Panera but with a European twist. Clean and bright atmosphere with a welcoming staff. Half sandwich half soup combo beats any price near.

City Place Cafe is a beloved breakfast and lunch shop in downtown Washington, D.C. a few blocks from the Farragut West Metro Station. Heres what I liked:1) Space: Its spacious, clean, and theres window seating with outlets. Theres a place where you can order breakfast and another for lunch (both are clearly marked).2) Service: Its fast and friendly. The owner will remember your name and order if you go a few times.3) Food: My ham, cheese, and egg breakfast sandwich on a whole wheat bagel was perfectly crispy. It was good, but not as thick as other shops nearby (like the White House Deli). They also have a variety of snacks and coffee to choose from.

This place is awesome. It has been my go to lunch spot in DC for 5 years and I’ve never had a bad experience. Great coffee, great bagels, great sandwiches, great soup. Get the New Yorker.

Got an avocado toast with over easy egg. Tasty and economical. Great find in a city full of relatively more expensive conveniences. Highly recommended!

Best sandwich shop in Farragut North with great customer service. (Oh and the best bagel in the area too). One of the few locally owned places in a sea of chain restaurants. I used to come here several times a week before I changed jobs.

I normally eat breakfast at this location. I have zero complaints. The healthy options and prompt service make this place a gem! Salute to ownership and the employees that make this place thrive.

Ive been eating at City Place for the last nine years that Ive worked around the corner. The guys that run the place are the nicest folks in the world and they recognize most of the regulars and frequent visitors by name or face and sometimes even know what theyre ordering. Ive been getting a club sandwich there for years thats incredibly delicious. They update their menu regularly, and add a good selection of new items for each season. The ingredients have always tasted fresh and great, though Ive only ever had sandwiches here, never the cold/salad bar. But its a place with lots of character and nice folks staffing it. Expect to pay about 7-8 bucks for most sandwiches after tax.

The service is Great! The cashier learns faces and names quickly. They offer a great selection of seasonal sandwiches and salads in addition to their regular menu. Great if you are taking food to go or eating in.

We saw this place walking around while waiting to check in at The Mayflower Hotel and decided to stop in for lunch. The paninis were delicious and the service was great at this mom & pop cafe. We ended up going back for breakfast and it was just as good as the lunch the day before.

The best meatball sub I ever had! Fresh french baguette with great sauce and fresh cut cheese. Service was also phenomenal... highly recommend

One of my absolute go-tos for lunch. All of the staff is friendly and they’ll remember your name and order after a few times. The Reuben is a good, classic version and the Cuban is also pretty tasty.

OWner/manager very rude. There was a bathroom but would not let my 6 year old son use it. “Employees only” he said. This is a small child. We spent almost $30 bucks on breakfasts all together that was mediocre at best. Least this guy can do was let my son use the restroom. Bad service!

I have gone to this place several times and its sad that everything looks great but DOESNT taste great. If you want something simple like a bagel, fruit, coffee or pasty then you will be fine.
