I love this place. Im new to guns. And when I came to check them out, I was concerned I would be looked down on for being ignorant of guns and all the etiquette that comes with them. But nope. I have bought a few fire arms from here. My wife bought her first gun here, and she was glad she came here first. Johnathan the salesmen was totally straight up and understanding. Wasnt trying to steer me or my wife wrong. The rest of the staff is pretty much laid back, always ready to help you and not stand off in their attitudes. I always see them take care of folks that frequently come there.This place will work with your needs. The owner is down the earth, no nonsense kind of guy. If you need it, they have it. I cant say enough of good things about this place. Highly recommend making this your only gun store.

Great place, HUGE variety, and good people. I waited a bit today because of the State…but it was worth it. This place has one of the biggest varieties in the state - hands down. Wish I knew about this place earlier…I had been going to other stores in CT. I’m an hour away, but worth the trip and I’ll be back. Great selection of parts too and they are hard to find these days! Just wanted to take this opportunity to say thank you to this local gun shop. The inventory is extremely large and prices are very fair. Today the staff helped my father buy his first pistol (P365XL) which he loves. Everyone was extremely helpful and took the time to explain everything and let him feel out a couple different pistols. I’m glad, that this shop is local and looking forward to buying another firearm here.Also side note, my wife also came here solo and she said the staff made her feel very welcomed.

They do have a great selection. A bit overpriced on used especially now since the boost in permits I get trying to capitalize on that. The afternoon can be crazy. It just becoming a hang out more. Should have a rm for that. If your going to hang out and talk don’t be in front of the selection of guns. Super annoying. Waiting for a transfer and sitting there can be brutal. I know it’s not there fault since state is awful. Overall nice guys and have good service if u want to ship out from them.

This place has the best inventory in CT especially when it comes to AR or Other parts.Just purchased a lower receiver, and even though the state has been near impossible to get through to, the employees are diligently dialing to ensure people their guns.Awesome staff, highly recommend this gun store.

HUGE selection of firearms and ammo, staff does not treat you like a sale or push anything on you. Entire staff that I have come across spent time with me and explained variations of the handguns I was interested in. The entire staff is extremely knowledgeable and helpful ( Jonathan, Christian, Matt ) to name a few. I would be here on a daily basis if I had the time lol. If you are looking for anything in particular, look no further. Anyone in the shop will help you with all your needs.

I went in on a weekday and the store was quiet with very few customers. There were at least 4-5 people behind the counters. I was looking at guns in the cases and on the walls for 10-15 minutes and they have a big selection. Nobody said hi, acknowledged I was even there, or offered to help me. I made eye contact with several employees and they kept on ignoring me. There were no other customers at the counter so I don’t understand why the ignored me. It’s too bad I wanted to buy a long gun but got frustrated and left. This was a disappointment because of the other good reviews. You get ignored at Hoffman’s too but at least there is a line of people they are helping.

An absolutely amazing store. Selection that rivals the big guys, with very fair pricing. Cant beat brick and mortar locations. Keep it local!

This place was great. First time in today since its a haul to get there for me but very happy I did. Was impressed with the customer service I received over the phone on a Saturday and even more so in person. Nice selection of firearms and accessories. I have no idea how anyone can comment a negative review on this place. I was in today to pick up a shotgun and each individual associate was extremely polite, patient, and respectful. Hoffmans and any other Gun Store around the state just want to sell you- but these people truly value their customers. Also, the associates here are extremely knowledgeable. I am definitely coming back here again. The owner also is a real cool guy and hes got a beautiful collection of classic vehicles in the back.

I like their a wide variety of collections. They have many many options on every category which is fantastic. However, they are expensive compare to any other gun stores in CT.I bought SIG Romeo 5 red dot from them paying $169. I checked SIGs website and their MSRP is $149. Ive never seen anybody charge more than MSRP.I bought Winchester 556 ammo 150 pack for $139. You can get it from Cabelas for $99. I dont want to compare them to a large distributer but 40% is simply just to much...They can be a one stop - worry free shopping spot if their price is reasonable through out their collections.I also need to comment that a few of their staff seriously dos not have any sprit of customer service. Most of staff are kind and helpful, however a few of them have a strong attitude.I would continue to go to this place since they have a very good collections, however Im not sure I can buy something before checking their price with others. If you dont mind to pay 10-20% premium for their great collection then you will be happy with them.

While purchasing a pistol the salesman acted very much annoyed, not engaging, and basically made me feel I was bothering him. Had just a few questions and he wouldn’t even look me in the eye. He was always looking everywhere else while talking to me. They’re not efficient with calling the state either. Finally their ammo prices are a joke. They’re robbing their customers that don’t know any better. Christ they sell 50 round boxes of 9mm for almost $40. Cabelas sells the same box for $18. Remember when the ammo shortage is over how this store took advantage of you. Of all the gun stores I’ve been to this one is the absolute worst. They have a decent selection of firearms I will give them that however I will not be a return customer.

Very pleased with the customer service for a first time pistol buyer. I Just picked up a Springfield Hellcat the other day. I’ve bought my first other rifle here last year. Experience was superb. With knowledgeable prior military service/ police staff members. I would definitely recommend coming here. 👍🏽

Big place expanded have a nice selection. Just starting to become chaotic in ways. When there busy forget it. It’s becoming like A hang out. Everyone hovering over the guns and talking to much. Now I know to go in morning first thing to actually look around. Kinda annoying. Transfers now have moved into a separate room and have to sit there and take your turn which can a long long time to get to you. I like Delta firearms where I can call on my personal phone as well so we have them and myself trying to call and get through. I get it they trying to be more efficient but if I buy I gun there and fill out the paper work I shouldn’t have to stay in a rm to wait. I should be able to browse the store again to pass time or something. I was told I had to stay in rm granted I had 5 people in front of me so do the math. Lost my mojo going there now. Might well hand out those light up pagers for seating. Lol.

Top notch store! Sales people are knowledgeable in all aspects of firearms. They really make purchases easy and professional as long as you have the right permits and attitude!! Undeniably the gun store for Connecticut...hands down.

I’ve been using the gun store for ammunition and also have purchased six or seven guns from them during the past year. I’ve always felt like a valued customer. Lester is a really nice guy and Christian helps me all the time when I come in. I wouldn’t drive all the way from Westchester County to do business with them if I thought anything less of them meaning anything lesser than 100%. Great group of guys, very helpful. They will continue to earn my trust and business.

My review based on visiting this place for more than a year,1. Positivea. Stock - They seem to have a lot of stuff in stock, especially the CT Other which they also manufacture. I also like the fact that they have a lot of accessories as well.b. Ammo - Its the early 2021 and again they had the ammo, albeit high price. I almost had a heart attack seeing 300 AAC ammo price... but they carried it.c. Customer Service - Ive seen the folks behind the counter explaining about different aspects of firearms to others in great length and detail. One sales rep kept emphasizing I dont work on commission and mustve spent good 20 minutes with one customer.2. Negativec. Customer Service - Well... this place seems to buzzing all the time, Leading up to the election and even more so after the election. I cannot, however, help to notice that I was being shunned a few times. I dont want to say rude or mean, but just enough something that makes me feel less important. Perhaps folks are not familiar seeing an Asian American in a gun store? Perhaps they thought I couldnt speak English (I do have a bit of accent)? Perhaps they were just too busy and want to get to the next customer? Not sure what it is but I felt better treated at Hoffmans (there, at least I know exactly when I will get serviced based on the ticket number).The business is booming, expanding, and I applaud the shop and the ownership, but please do try to put in a bit more robust process to serve all in front of the counter, with smile and respect.

I spoke to i believe his name was Matt on the phone about purchasing guns out of state, He was extremely helpful and eager to help me out.So I took a ride up there today to buy ammo and to check the place out, walked in you could feel& see the energy and great altitudes immediately.The woman at the counter took care of me right away and by the way great personality.Spent a few minutes looking around the store, Its wide open clean neat and organized will definitely return was worth the drive.

1 star for inventory. 1 star for ammo selection.Minus 3 stars for process. I have been sitting in the room waiting for them to verify my paperwork for 1 hour and 6 minutes at the time of this posting. In the entire time here, only 6 people have been processed. If they hadnt called and already received an authorization from the state I would have got a refund and walked out. Complete waste of time. Sadly, it seems the store has got to big to fast and cant handle the volume. You are better served taking your money elsewhere. Prices are on par with other stores in the region. They have now lost another customer.Edit to reply to store response:My wait time had absolutely zero to do with any delay on the states end. You had my authorization number in less than 10 minutes. You then require me to sit in a room with 2 very slow employees whom proceed to go over and fill out everyones paperwork for them. This is done in the most laborious manner possible. Either train your staff to be more efficient or allow your customer to fill out their own paperwork before you check it over. I have been purchasing firearms in this state for a long time. I have never witnessed such ineptitude. Lets be honest, as much as I dislike guns for the Good Guys they atleast can process a customer in about 1/6 your time. Maybe you should go walk around and see how it works at other stores. Why are you the only store that processes customers this way?

Very disappointed, the gentleman helping me was rude. He didn’t seem like he wanted to be there and acted annoyed and bothered that I wanted to look at guns and had questions about them.

Everyone at the shop has always been great. I always look for Steven if I come in during the week and everything is smooth & easy. They have the best in stock selection in CT hands down. Even if they didn’t it’s still worth the hour drive for me to deal with these guys. Highly recommended. Went shopping for my 1st pistol in a couple different gun stores. Not a good experience. Waited to be helped, gun I asked to see put on counter and associates walked away. Felt like I wasnt a customer. Made trip to The Gun Store. Greeted as soon as I walked in by the owners daughter. Explained what I needed and she showed me a few different pistols and holsters. She let me try all of it. A positive experience. While processing the paperwork I was informed on what each form was and where it goes.A customer for life (the rest of it anyway).Wife who just recently went to class for permit and is waiting for scheduled state appointment for permanent permit will be headed up right after she gets it to purchase her 1st.

Went here for the first time today and was overwhelmed at how friendly, attentive and helpful everyone was. There was never a moment someone wasn’t asking, “can I help you?” or “Is there something you’d like to see?” and they answered all questions(even for a relative newbie like me) respectfully and thoroughly. One of the worst things about purchasing guns as a woman is constantly being condescended. Ive been on the hunt for a specific gun and have gotten no where and even told the item Im looking for is for a mans gun and Id be better off with a morr appropriate choice. Today I happened to call the gun store. I spoke to Christian who was not only patient with my questions, knowledgable about what I wanted, but was appreciative of the selected item i was looking for.I also was at their store right before the Holidays. It was an extremely busy time and the store was really crowded however I was quick to received Help Their selection was wonderful Their story was clean There was order even though there is a large group of people around And I really appreciate Ed their attention to their customers.I absolutely recommend them!

I really like this gun store, excellent variety, and never ran out of ammo during this fake Covid pandemic.The staff are very friendly, informative, and don’t pressure you into any rash purchases. The only rash purchases made are by your own choice, and it’s hard to practice self control in a toy store like this.

I am a new gun permit holder. And I had a man and he trew a glock on the table showed me nothing and send me to the room for back round check. Then did not but all the stuff I bought in the bag . I purchased my first pistol here an i can honestly say it was an amazing experience walked away very happy. They have a huge selection and they take the time to show you everything an explain the pros an cons. One of the employees who helped me mike was very knowledgeable made the whole experience great didnt push me towards anything or try to up sell me. Prices are fair i will be going to them for any further purchases without a doubt.. altho every one there is extremely nice and will go the extra mile mike is my guy!

I walked in having a feeding issue with my mag on my AR-15 with the last bullet when it reaches the top just flops out and is loose. Matt came over and helped me out big time i told him the issue i was having and he said it is most likely the magazine. Well come to find he sold me 2 P-Mags for the gun i came home to test it out with feeding and ejecting and what do you know it works like a charm. He is very knowledgeable and knows exactly what he is talking about. I will continue to do business at The Gun Store!Thanks Alot Matt!!!

Great place! I stopped in for the first time and was immediately greeted and helped. I was looking for a plain jane .45 Government model and they had a few to choose from. Awesome selection of firearms, accessories and ammo. When I mentioned I had a Stag Arms AR they offered for me to bring it in so they could suggest some upgrades and mods. Will definitely be back!

Been to this legitimate gun shop several times, usually on busy days, and have left each time fully satisfied and looking forward to my next visit.I needed to get some 10-round mags for my rifle, (and ammo!), and I knew I would be swinging by on Saturday the 7th. I called them on Friday night, around 6:30 pm, (with half an hour left until they closed), and the guy who I spoke with was accommodating and patient with me. He was happy to give me the brands and prices of available mags, and didnt treat me like I was a nuisance. I even apologized for being that customer, (the one who calls at half-hour to closing with detailed questions), and he blew it off, telling me he was glad to give me his assistance.EACH TIME I have dealt with this store, the employees treated me with nothing but respect, and that speaks volumes! This is definitely not a local Fudd Gun Store, not at all.Highest recommendation, hands-down!

Came here to get my gun permit with Dom, recommend everyone and anyone that doesnt have a permit to take their class here with him. He was very helpful and motivating. Anything that i didnt understand, he made sure to explain. Thank you for this amazing experience.

I have had nothing but positive experiences at the Gun Store. I feel pretty lucky that this store is about 2 miles from my house. Even if it was 30+ miles away I would still go there exclusively. I feel like I could write a small book about the positive experiences that I have had at the Gun Store but I will spare everyone. One thing I will say is that I have never felt rushed while looking at different firearms, all of the staff have always been helpful and very welcoming.

Love the shop. Great products, great people, great prices. The owner Lest will help you with anything you want to buy or build. They have products you aren’t going to see in other stores, long guns, pistols, optics, pretty much everything you need/want. It’s hard for me to not go in there and buy stuff every week. They also have some pretty awesome things to come in the future.

Perhaps it was unusually busy I don’t know, but I walked in started looking at the guns in the location, and decided on buying a Taurus as I said it was very busy, but they don’t have a number system, and you can stand in front of the display like a statue within view of the employees, and you won’t get as much as a “sorry my man, but it’s going to be a long wait”, or “someone will help you as soon as they can “.so basically I stood there for 40 minutes like a statue, yes ! I wanted to say something, but they were so engaged with the customers they were helping I didn’t want to interject in the middle of the filing of background check paperwork, and that’s why I expected someone to at least acknowledge whether they could help me .I don’t think it had anything to do with me being the only person of color in the whole store, but just a matter of poor service, and perhaps a “were making plenty of money so GFY attitude “.,but I won’t be going there ever again.

I went in one day to see if I could get a better deal than another store I went to. They didnt, but its ok cause it was the same. Guy even knew I went to other location. He did not try to bad mouth the other store infact he stated they were nice guys at other store. Which was nice to not hear negative things. They do have a great selection. The staff was very nice. I had already put money down at another store but I will be bringing my pistols in for customization once I get it. I will also be going for future purchases.

After browsing the Gun Stores great website I decided to take a ride down from Litchfield and look at their inventory with my own eyes and was amazed with all the great costumer service, selection of pistols, rifles and accessories.
