Today my daughter had a scheduled hair appt which was scheduled a month ago. During initial scheduling I voiced my concern about how thick her hair is and long because I know that is important for a stylist to know and I also disclosed to associate that we were African American for texture of hair purposes and she informed me it wouldnt be a problem because the Master Stylist know the job better and its not a problem. We showed up my daughter picked her color and the Master stylist said she doesnt have experience with her kind of her then changed to her texture hair and she wasnt comfortable doing her hair. Her kind of hair(because were African American) or her texture which is straight and not natural. I have NEVER been so embarrassed in my entire life and for my 14yr who by the way already has her hair colored to hear some say this is just rude unprofessional and degrading. I will NEVER spend another dime in Ulta since your employees arent properly trained to handle different diversity in hair even being the highest of the stylist you hire.
Rude/unorganized service when you call. I would seek out another beauty store!
Robert was amazing he truly made my hair look fabulous! And was so patient & understanding that i brought a long my 2 year old and she can be a handful but he was great with my child while working on doing my hair. I highly recommend anyone to ask for Robert he does an amazing job! He won’t disappoint 💓
My friend and I visited the store and had a very rude experience. When looking at the body scents/ lotions, we opens it to smell it and there was some missing out of it....clearly been used before, my friend dabbed her finger in it to feel it, and we were bombarded by an associate with blue hair that just scolded her for using it. The associate said it was covid rules. That is fine, but they way she spoke to grown ADULTS was absolutely unprofessional. Demanded the product she had in her hand and said it needed to be Destroyed! We put back the items we were going to purchase and on the way out a different associate glared at my friends purse, as if we were going to steal or did. I’m guessing we didn’t fit the look to be in the store. Was embarrassing and no need to go back.
Angie helped me so much! I went in with just an Instagram photo of a girls hair I wanted to copy kinda. The Instagram hair was black roots that fell to just above her nose, and then ombre’d to a medium blue and a darker medium blue (she used two manic panic blues). Neither of the blues were in stock at the store but there were 3 other blue manic panic shades. I told Angie how I wanted to take my auburn hair with light auburn highlights and dye medium brown my roots to just above my nose and then two blues by manic panic. Her and I looked at color charts on the manic panic online, and picked two nice colors. She then helped me find a hair painting brush and mixing bowl kit. We also discussed conditioning hair well to prevent damage and neutralizing brassiness. Hopefully the colors come out close to the Instagram!
Avoid the salon at all costs! I had my hair done there a little over a week ago. At the end, I said my hair looks purple. Stylist said it was just the lights in the salon. it was dark when I left. So flash to the next morning..... I have yellow roots and silver splotches through out my hair. I paid $200 for a shadow root that was suppose to match my natural root and the totally blonde service. 4 hrs in the chair.Btw, my hair was already very blonde to begin with.It has been over a week and just looks worse. I have never been so disappointed in a hair salon in my life
I got a very much needed haircut by Katie today and she was beyond awesome. She was very kind, helpful, and understanding. I also spoke to some of the other stylists there which were also very nice and helpful. I will definitely be returning. The cashier at the end was also very nice and made sure that I got all my discounts and points.
I love Ulta!Huge varietyGreat pricesWell-informed staffThey have a Benefit Brow Bar!!!(Call ahead to make an appointment)They have hairstylists!(Call ahead)They have great sales and deals on the high-end product lines I love.Did I mention the brow bar?!
Last week i went in to buy some makeup for my prom on Saturday i had a very nice lady come up and matched me for foundation i mentioned that i needed to go to the mall and get my eyebrows done and she said she had free time if i wanted to get them done there. I heard really nice things about the way Ulta does brows so i said yes. I sit down and she has me sign a form she said it’s to clarify that I’m not allergic to any of the products they will be using. We go on and she does my eyebrows very well I may add and we talk about high school and prom never once did she ask me my age. At the end I ask her if they put on false lashes for people because me and my friend have a hard time doing it and since prom is this Saturday. At the end I go to the front she makes an appointment for me and my friend that Saturday and I pay for my eyebrows. The following Saturday me and my friend show up super excited pick out our lashes and wait for our appointment . At 2 o’clock the lady at the benefit brow salon asked for our IDs .I was very confused since me and my friend were only 17 why they were asking for our id she said that she can’t bring tweezers store eyes without a parent present or being 18. I mentioned to her that some lady on Thursday did my eyebrows without asking for my ID And knew i was young cuz i was talking about prom and graduating. While I was trying to explain my side of the story the employee wouldn’t take me seriously and kept telling me that she would not be able to do my lashes when I asked her if my mom came if I could still get in right away because we had plans that day she said she would not be able to guarantee that and it’s not her problem and that the person who set up the appointment should’ve let us know, this employee was very rude and my friend and i will not be returning to this Ulta the way they handled the situation was very disrespectful and made a scene in the whole store. Not only that but put me and my friend in a bad mood on prom day which sucks. I didn’t catch the name of this employee i wish i did but i have had some conversations with other employees since then and they have apologized in her behalf and have told me not to go again. I will be bringing my business elsewhere from now on very disappointed.DATE VISITED 5-18-19
Love ulta, this location is fairly big so you have plenty to shop. However it seems like every time Im there I get followed around by employees like Im shoplifting. Kinda ruins the fun of shopping
3.5 but better than my last review. New people on the luxury side makes for a slightly better experience. Ill update soon with a better score, hopefully, soon.
Absolutely love Shannon at the Watertown salon. She is amazing. I will not go anywhere else.
I brought 283.00 dollars worth of merchandise included with my purchase I brought some Juicy Couture perfume for $68 went to the mall and purchase the Juicy Couture big bottle for the same price I bought the small bottle of Juicy Couture so I wind up returning it but I didnt have my receipt and the lady that wrong me up was like what we can pull you up on your rewards card but she was on her way out she was off the clock so another young lady tried to pull me up on my rewards card and it just didnt happen just so happened I bought a gift card and the young lady had put a gift card receipt in my envelope and she was able to pull it up but they gave me such a hard time and I stood there for a good 10 minutes just to do a return and I was only the second person in the store....THE CUSTOMER SERVICE SUCKED. I will NOT BE SHOPPING THEIR ANYMORE SPENDING MY HARD EARNED MONEY.
My wife, brought photos of hair color and the dye number and photo of the preferred cut. stylist used a different dye number and had to bleach out the color and start over. Color was still not right and the cut was horrendous. This was done by the lead stylist. I do not recommend this establishment.
I used to LOVE shopping at Ulta. Prior to me starting esthetician school my dream was to work in the makeup industry, which landed me in wanting the great opportunity of being part of this company. However, recently going through an interview which went great, I was offered a job that day and was told someone would reach out to me to figure out which position I would like and get me in for training. I have called more than 3 times now to see when this will happen. This interview took place two months ago. My frustration is I have a passion for this industry, I take my education and customer service very seriously. I’m disappointed that a place I used to dream of working at doesn’t realize some people actually want to work for a career they love, not just a place to work and leave 5 months later.
I love the mix of regular price and high end cosmetics at Ulta! I come down to the US for Ulta from Canada just to see what is totally different from the Sephora in Canada and I always find hundreds of dollars of cool stuff to buy!
I love this store. its kept clean and the employees seem friendly but I will say they dont always have what I go there for and it sucks that a lot of the stuff they have online they dont in the store.
A little expensive and you have to make sure you read the sales because they arent always on the right product
Well the first color did not cover my grays so they redid it but was not the color I wanted. They said that I can comeback to have the right color done .Unfortunately I ended up in the hospital and was not able to go for the appointments they had scheduled for me .Now that Im able to they say its been to long and that I may have regrowth which I dont .They say that I will have to pay full price. I will still have my stylist do my hair. The manager misguided her so I will go when the manager is not there.
Was followed around the entire time like I was shoplifting lol. Felt like I couldn’t look at a single aisle without being stared down by someone. As my wife and I walked out we got asked if we were sure about not buying anything, which is suuuuper weird. Maybe classes in sales etiquette could be a good investment.
Amazingly helpful staff and a friendly atmosphere. Everything you would want from high end, organic vegan products, to drug store products under one roof and.....its all more affordable than youre going to find it anywhere else.
I only gave it one star because I could not write a review with zero stars.I made a hair appointment for 7:30, arrived about 5 minutes early and was told the girl doing my hair was finishing someone, offered a bottle of water. I sat down to wait. I listen to the lady who would be doing my hair chatting with her customer. I kept thinking someone would come say something to me. After 35 minutes I got up and told them I had waited long enough. The stylist said she was finiishing up and would be with me soon. I told her I had been told that 35 minutes earlier and was leaving.Very poor service. Trust me, I will make sure to spread the service I received where ever I can.
Excellent variety of beauty products at competitive prices. Very friendly and helpful staff.
Great staff! Very helpful and friendly. They have everything!
I go every 6 weeks for the Benefit Brow Bar. Savannah does an excellent job on my eyebrows and shes so sweet. All of the staff there have always been very friendly and helpful.
Everyone I interacted with was extremely pleasant and helpful.
I do find what I need and never had any issues with beauty products. However, I give three stars because for some reason everytime I go in there Im followed by consultants and peeked at like Im doing something wrong? So I make my trips fast going in an out. (I pay for my items ladies) lol I feel uncomfortable.
Magical place I could spend hours in looking at all the makeup!
The store is full of great product. The salon however is not good. I went in to get my hair styled for my wedding day with my mother and both stylists were terrible. They didnt want to wash our hair and seemed like they were just rushing us out. They put no effort into our hair and acted like we were an inconvenience. I went home and re did my hair myself and it looked 100 times better but obviously I went to a salon because I thought it would be something extra special. Extremely dissatisfied I will never go back.
Love 😍 its like Disney world for me hahaha
Trying to find a specific hair dryer. There was none left on the shelf but the gal who waited on me was able to find the last one!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
When I went to check out at the register, the lady asked for my phone number assuming i had an ulta beauty rewards card, but I said no and I wanted to sign up for one, but she didn’t even bother asking me if I wanted to become a member. Instead, she was very rude and said “you don’t even shop here” like UM?? I figure she didn’t like me cause I was Asian, lol. That same day, I had signed up for the membership myself on their website. Just wasted a purchase that didn’t even get to be added on my account for points. I despise people whp look down on others. However, I will be going there nonetheless since it’s the only close Ulta there is. But the customer service is terrible.
I like this location and the employees all seem very knowledgeable.
I highly recommend Jordan at the Brow Bar, she is extremely skilled.
Love the store. Has every beauty product a woman could ever need or want. The sales woman are very professional which I think makes them seem a bit cold and unfriendly. Hence the reason for my 3 stars.
Knowledgeable people here. Friendly and not over bearing. Thanks ladies.
Dont like being approached. Id rather look around and if I need help I can ask
Very helpful and knowledgable staff!
All the ULTA beauty staff are awesome! I wont go anywhere else.
Very rude customer service! So rude that I didn’t even stay for the scheduled appointment! I would have gave 0 stars.
Got some good cologne
The store is huge and if you are in the market for beauty products look no further.
Friendly staff. Jordan does a phenomenal job on my eyebrows every time!
This place is the worst Ulta I have been too full of racist employees. They ask can they help you way to many times when you just said You don’t want any help. The cashiers give you weired looks and didn’t want to assist me with looking up my card. I will shop online from now on they don’t need my hard earn military money.
Very friendly. Willing to help
Kayla in salon does a fantastic job!
Super friendly/helpful stafg
Large assortment of cosmetics and hair care products. Can be pricey if you dont hit a sale.
Sales associates one in particular is oh rude. And is discriminating and condescending.
Had all of favorite products.
For those that need cosmetics, they carry almost everything
Its a hit or miss with the customer service here.
Love this place
