I wanted to thank the two installers that came to my house on Tuesday for a service call on my wood pellet stove. I bought this home last year and didnt even know pellet stoves existed until I saw the unit in my basement. I read the owners manual, watched a couple videos, and did everything I thought I was supposed to be doing as far as basic maintenance goes. Turns out I was wrong, due in part to the previous owners never having the unit properly serviced after it was installed. Which coincidentally enough happened to be done by your company, which was kind of mind blowing. How lucky was I to call for a service appointment and just so happen to have it be the business that did the original installation. The guys you sent, well I cannot say enough good things a bout them both! Holy cow, they clearly know their stuff and in my opinion went above and beyond to make sure everything was working properly and cleaned to the point where this thing looks and works like it is practically brand new. Thank you for providing additional warmth, safety and peace of mind knowing this stove has been professionally serviced and seems to be running better than I ever thought it could. You will have a customer for life after this experience. Kudos to you and your staff!

My fiancée and I met Amy and Mark to look at some Hearthstone wood stoves to install at our home. Unfortunately the location we had planned to install it wont necessarily work. We will however have a great place to install a stove in the coming year as the remodeling of our home progresses. We were greatly appreciative of the communication we received with Grass Roots Energy both for quotes and problem solving to find the best solution for our space. I had a wood burning insert put in a old home. Everyone at Grass Roots is very professional. The installation went great. They did a excellent job on making the existing stone work so we would still have the arch.

We’ve used Grass Roots for several family homes over the past thirty years. They’ve provided wood burning stoves, wood burning fireplace inserts, and ventless fireplaces. I also use them for chimney cleaning. They are always easy to work with, never any pressure, really knowledgeable about their products, and have done a superlative job with every project.

THE BEST PLACE TO BUY A FIREPLACE. I went into this store not knowing a thing about wood fireplaces. Not only was Mark and the staff helpful they took the time to explain the differences of each fireplace and which one would be best for my location. I bought a Enerzone 2.5 ZC. They walked me through the steps of the install and by the time I was done I felt like I was an expert. Amazing Company, product and service! Purchased a Lopi Freedom wood burning insert from Grass Roots at least 17 years ago. We were so pleased with how helpful they were at that time. We had them install the fireplace insert and we used it every day in winter for years. When we relocated from Mchenry County to Kane county we had them remove the lopi and install it in our new place. Again, they were wonderful to work with. After 17 years we needed a few replacement parts and Mark in customer service listened to what I needed, gave me a fair and reasonable price, and even though it was obviously a busy time at the shop, made me feel understood and appreciated. This is small business at its best. You will not be disappointed - come here for quality products, replacement parts at fair prices, and excellent & knowledgeable customer service
