Great selection of pianos (digital and acoustic) at great prices. Even greater staff who are very nice, knowledgeable and professional. I came for an afternoon to try some of the pianos. When I finally made up my mind several weeks later and placed the order, they dropped off and help set up the piano the next evening. Highly recommend this business.

I was thinking of purchasing a used electronic piano from an online classified site. The instrument I was interested in was selling for a super price, but needed a repair. I did another online search and found Family Piano Co. Even though I live in Utah and they are in Illinois, they were so willing to answer my questions and give their experienced estimate of what repairs might cost, even if I had it repaired by another company. They educated me, and allowed me to make my own decision without trying to persuade or sell me one of their own. Very professional, and very friendly. Illinois, you are lucky to have them!

I will have to say I was truly impressed with this fine establishment. My son and I started learning how to play the piano during the brunt of the pandemic. During our studies we came to a part where we needed to view how a piano works. I called the store and they were more than happy to have us come and look.When we first walked in there werent many pianos. However, after we were greeted we were escorted to their showroom. We were very impressed by the selection they had!We were introduced to Mr. Alviani who not only pointend us in the right direction, but he showed us the mechanics of how the piano works along with the differences between upright and grand pianos. MIND BLOWN!!Mr. Alviani also explained the sales and warranty process. Unfortunately, I wasnt in a position to buy at the time. It is rare though where service is so well at an establishment that you wish you could purchase from them.I highly recommend them for your piano needs. No pressure to purchase and friendly (as well as patient) staff to attend to your needs is a rare find!

As a graduate student who is frequently changing apartment complexes, I needed to ensure that I purchased a piano that was portable and would work well with this lifestyle. However, I did not want to sacrifice quality and make a purchase that would not allow me to grow in my ability as a piano player. I played piano when I was a child, but quit playing for many years, and have since lost all of my technical skills and musical knowledge. Friendly, warm, inviting and great place to just hang out. My daughter took lessons here and we also visited many times for lots of music events, during ArtWauk. The entire staff and owners are wonderful. They also have a great piano tuning department and I have used their services.

I was interested in selling a used piano. While Brendan had to say thanks, but no thanks on my piano at this time, he provided me with a wide range of information on the how/who/where to sell a used piano. He certainly didnt have to do that, and I am very grateful for his help. He obviously is focused on providing service, even when theres nothing in it for him.

When they say family, they mean it. Huge array of lovely pianos available--both new and used. Owners are very welcoming and helpful and give you as much time as you need to look for your perfect piano. Absolutely no high pressure sales, just helpful kindness. Family Piano also has a lot of wonderful piano books and sheet music available to keep my library well-stocked.

Wonderful place in northeastern Illinois to attend a classical music concert, the prices are so seasonable and no parking fees! tremendous place to visit if you enjoy Jazz, the personnel at Family Piano are so knowledgeable about music that I always come home tremendously happy after an evening at their Riverside Concert hall!But above all, Family Piano is a Music store business and as such they are so good at selling and servicing what they sell that you will become not only a repeated customer, but a returning friend. Try their classes too, they have teachers for many instruments and they are perfectly qualified to teach you to play and to enjoy music much more! I recently visited Family Piano Co. in Waukegan. All I was looking for was a violin string. I was surprised to find so much. The location looks like a tiny storefront but it is HUGE. One room follows into another that follows into another that follows into another and so on. The place was very clean, very appealing. My daughter needed to use the restroom and she was surprised at how nice it was. I have been to expensive restaurants that have less elegant restrooms. The ladies that took care of me were very nice and informative. I really liked this place. I am looking forward to go back again. Needless to say, I was looking to spend on only one item and I left with 3, they have an amazing book collection!

Great people! My daughter was in her voice lesson so i walked around. They have every thing and every lesson. It is family owned and Brendan gave me time and lots of info about Ukuleles (which My daughter has had a fun interest in..Christmas gift???) & then he gave me tips about piano lesson apps...fun, but real learning apps! Then Alice talked voice with me about timing for different ages. My daughter, 15 at the time of this experience, had improved a LOT in just the first 2 months (yes i have Momma bias!!). Now having been there for over a year and taken a piano boot camp class myself at lunch time this past summer ...I highly recommend this business for any musical needs! ! A mother of a new band student, Alice took great care of my childs instrument rental. It was a breeze and she answered all of my questions. As a private voice teacher, I recently hosted a studio recital in the lovely space that exists as part of Family Piano Co. There is no charge and they did the set-up and break-down of the room, recommended an accompanist who was fantastic, and provided a grand piano for the accompanist to boot! Wonderful people who offer pianos of all kinds for a fair price. I shopped around at a half dozen stores before finding Family Piano in Waukegan IL. I felt right at home as soon as I opened the door. They have a staff of family members and local residents who love their work. As a result, every piano is tuned, polished and regulated. Most other showrooms are too understaffed or just dont take the effort to care for the instruments. Not here, everything is as you expect it should be.Better yet, Family Piano has a no haggle pricing policy and youll notice that first when you checkout the tags which are often thousands less then the list price at most other piano stores where youre treated to a used car sales experience. Ugh...Here, Alice and Brandon explain all of your buying options, pull no punches and give you exactly what they offered. I bought my Kawai K300 for a very nice price (according to Larry Fine) and I left the showroom feeling like I wasnt taken for a ride. This is a rare experience for me in a world where most of the time I feel like Ive gotten the worst end of a deal.If youre in the market, you owe it to yourself to take a ride out to Waukegan. If youve shopped elsewhere and were disappointed, I encourage you to give these guys a try. Wonderful people.
