The employees are super friendly and helpful. I always enjoy popping in for my daughters reeds. They have started consistently stocking oboe reeds, which is great! If something is out of stock, they will call you to let you know when it is restocked. Great shopping experience!
Took in a used flute and a violin to get fixed up. Had them back quicker than expected. My instrument was polished and even had a couple of small dents removed. That is service that goes above and beyond. Happy camper. Highly recommend.

This place is the best music store on earth. This place had everything I need so far and the employees are very nice and respectful. This nice man was explaining about my saxophone and he was very gentle. I really recommend this place to anyone.

I have a Selmer 67 Bass Clarinet which is a pretty finicky instrument to adjust correctly. Another shop had my instrument for over a month and I got it back with issues. Daniel (I hope I got the techs name right...) had it fixed within 3 days and it plays better than new. He even took extra time and sat down 1 on 1 with me to adjust it to how I wanted it to play.
Picked up some guitar strings and the employee knew just what I was looking for. A little pricey, but not too bad.
Fantastic music store. One of the best Ive ever been too. Was able to get my daughters ukulele repaired and guidance on my next instrument. Staff was very knowledgeable as well. Very happy with my service. Was treated like a friend here, not just a customer.
Because the guy that is kind of heavy set with longer hairdidnt really know or have the premier type of equipment in store he didnt even know what m audio was OMG LOL just kidding no for real though
Edit: After working out the situation with the owner, I am amazed at the owner, and the staff who went above and beyond the call of duty, locating and taking care of my application. As someone who works in customer service that means a great deal.I can with full confidence use Ellis county music as my go to place for musical supplies.I look forward to playing! 🎻Ive revised my rating to five stars----Tried to rent a violin, somehow my application with my credit card information was lost. And that was found out after multiple attempts to contact the staff.While the staff was helpful and courteous, losing sensitive paperwork like that is unacceptable. Ill be taking my business elsewhere.
I have had the pleasure of working with this group of people on many projects. Anytime I have a strange request for something, they find it! Everyone has been nothing but friendly, and the staff are very involved in community service as well. This store and the staff are a blessing to the community. I love that I dont have to go out of town for any music needs that my work has.
Son took a guitar lesson here and really enjoyed it. Well be going back for more lessons.

Son needed guitar strings. Both gentlemen were very helpful and knowledgeable. They made a recommendation on which strings to use for his guitar and explained in detail why they were the best for his type guitar. They were also two for one on the full sets which was great.

I checked the internet for store hours, as I am headed there this morning. I was surprised to see such poor reviews from some! Granted, they are pretty old ones. I have had many years of experience with Ellis County Music and have never had a bad one to date. I followed them from Red Oak because they are better than any other shop near Lancaster, DeSoto, Cedar Hill. The staff actually taught me some about my daughters flute and have now done so with my sons oboe. Love the people! Worth the drive.
Expensive (like most instruments duh ghost) but overall pretty cool and would recommend for guitars and brass types of course theres not big ones but the basic ones.......Oh yea the employees are nice too

Just had the worst experience at Ellis County Music Center here in Waxahachie. Just dropped in to check out the new store, asked the sales clerk if I could pick up a few guitars and get a feel for them. Another clerk even offered to have me plug a guitar into an amp in order to hear how it sounded. After a few minutes a very creepy man with NO nametag, who did not introduce himself in any way, form or fashion was standing there looking at me very strangely. My wife asked him if there was a problem, and he commenced to be very rude with her and say that HE didnt have a problem, and that what was HER problem. She abrubtly left the store. When I turned to see what was wrong, and asked what was the deal, he commenced to tell me about HER problem. After I explained that after 25 years of marriage, I have come to know that she is a very good judge of character. So I promptly handed him his guitar where he told me to get the HELL out of his store. I told him that I wouldnt be back and he promptly added, and dont come back. I assured him I wouldnt and thanked the young gentleman behind the counter for his help. Ill never go back to that store. Just wanted to share this experience with anyone who needs to find a place for instruments or for band music. Its not that much farther down the road to Lancaster Music where we used to get all of Alexs sheet music for school band. - Joe
