I took the car and immediately noticed it can not accelerate well .I turn back and right before the street to lot the I stopped to turn right and the car will not move when I press the accelerator after multiple attempts I just left the car and walked to the lot. How can any respectable dealership can give anybody a car to test drive that is not safe,,

I bought an older Subaru from Elias at Wayland Automotive . From the second I called he made it an easy experience. He really went above and beyond by doing things like following up with my questions quickly, driving to me to do some paperwork to save the money on an Uber. After i bought the car it had a issue with the car shutting off. I didnt know it was an easy fix! I dont know much about cars but Elias told me he would sort it out ASAP. He delivered! He was able to save the day and help me reconnect the air intake that had simply slipped off. I was on my way in 20 minutes. Thank you!

After 2 months of research and being disappointed when I had the car checked out after driving to what seemed like good/great deals, I just bought a Honda Civic from Wayland Automotive (Eli and Elias) for my daughter yesterday. The price was very competitive (and I am a bargain hunter to my core). In addition, after I had the car checked at Honda dealership (always a must to have it checked somewhere before you buy used), they fixed everything Honda recommended (minor repairs) without increasing the price (and I had it rechecked at Honda). No hassle. No phone calls. No high pressure. Competitive pricing with good service. Would go back again and recommend to friends without reservation.

We recently traveled to Wayland Automotive looking for a used car. We were pleasantly surprised by the professionalism of the salesman Elias. He really knows his cars and was very informative. We looked at several cars and then he showed us a car that we thought was out of our price range as we had already been to four used car lots. We ended up buying the car. There were a couple of issues with the car that were fixed during the warranty and a few after. Elias responded to me immediately to resolve any issues. However the price we payed at this time was still an economic plus.Elias took care of all the documentation with the registry and all I had to do was pick up the car.I would recommend Wayland Automotive especially working with Elias.

Buyer beware: I took a full-size spare tire here to get a new, basic steel rim a few months back. They could not find a rim of the right size and called to tell me so. Due to a family emergency it took me a month or so to come pick up the tire. When I tried, I discovered that they had thrown the tire away. They had not called to tell me that they were going to do that. The tire was a perfectly good spare. That was bad enough. When I discovered this, I acted very surprised. One of the main workers looked straight at me and just shrugged his shoulders like he could care less. I became visibly irritated and eventually was directed to call the owner. I met him a few days later and he committed to find me a new spare tire. After several check-ins over the course of a month, and continued assurances that a tire would be found, I gave up. This is not a hard tire to find, I’m out at at least $100 plus my time.I do not see how I could trust this shop with anything more complicated, which is basically just ... anything.[Reply to their reply: There was ZERO miscommunication. I spoke to Eli in person and on the phone several times.]

I had Subaru and had them do the lower control arm and CV Axle. The initial quote was $600. And then I got a call from them who said that I messed up other parts as I try to fix control arm myself. They told me that I need a new knuckle. I said go ahead. And then I got a call again a couple of hours later and this time it was a new hub I need. I thought it was weird, but since I did not have any other option and needed car right away, I said go ahead. Now the cost jumped from $600 to $1400. I truly thought that I did some damage trying to fix in on my own. I paid the price with tears and picked up the car, and asked for the damaged parts as a souvenir.I did not notice when I picked up the car since I was beside myself. Later, I looked more carefully the part and saw that they broke the pin bolt (Subaru has this notorious bolt in their ball joint), which I did not touch at all. It was very clear that they broke the bolt and needed a new knuckle. Rather than admitting that they broke it, they accused me of damaging it since I said I tried to fix control arm myself. But, I did not try to loosen the bolt. Someone lied. They broke the bolt, and they charged me for their mistake. They thought that I don t know anything about the car, but they did not know that I have eyes and can see things better once I calmed down. They also made a big mistake and damaged, destroyed passenger side CV Axle and replaced it. But they did not charge me for that, which is good. But the guy did not tell me about this until I saw it in the receipt that they got a new CV Axle and did not charge for that. They dont tell you everything. They broke the pin bolt, and made me pay for that. I debated whether or not I confront them about this, but I knew that they would keep saying that I was the one who did it, not them. It would be my words against their words, but God knows who did it. The best lesson I got is, I should stay AWAY from them. You too!!!!

This Spring when I needed to replace my beloved high mileage Volvo, I worked with Elias at Wayland Automotive. As a single white haired woman buying a preowned vehicle from a stranger is a daunting task at best. Elias made the process seamless. Elias knows his cars and is passionate about finding a customer the right vehicle for them. As he guided me through this process it became very clear to me that he is an honest, trustworthy dealer who I can, and will recommend to all my friends with confidence. Now as I drive my cherry red low mileage Mercedes with the sun roof open and my music blasting I can thank Elias for finding me the car that fits my needs. I made the correct decision working with Elias. Call him. You wont regret it.

I trusted this service center with my car during the three years I was up in the Boston area for graduate school. My first experience with Wayland Automotive was they were a very friendly staff. Omar greeted you as you walked through the door and I spoke with Hawg directly who I was told was the Saab expert. I felt comfortable from the beginning and I believed that they were telling me the truth when they said they were performing services.I spent at least $3,000 on my Saab 9-3 while I lived in the Boston area. I even had them do a check before I moved back down to the DC metro area. They told me, your car is on great shape. It has years left on it. Shortly after moving back to the DC area, my car broke down. The Saab service center in Virginia said it had a few years of neglect and that he believes the services that I was paying for were not being completed. I did EVERY service and repair that Wayland Automotive suggested and spent A LOT of money for a 3-year time period. I believe that took advantage of me as a young woman. My car needed $3000 in repairs because of the neglect. The car had a major oil leak that should have been noticed in their check before I moved. What I paid for here is unknown. I basically paid thousands for Wayland Automotive to ruin my car. A car that should have lasted me a few more years is considered RUINED and not worth repairing. Please DO NOT trust them with repairs. They are DISHONEST! I dont think the repairs, maintenance checks, oil changes, etc were ever performed. My car would NOT be in this state if they had done their job!!!

For a reportedly outstanding business (according to their suspiciously glowing positive reviews) Wayland Automotive sure does get a lot of negative reviews, and spends a lot of time apologizing to the customers who post them. They certainly talk the talk. But talk is cheap, like the cliche says, and the important question is do they walk the walk. The negative reviews answer with an emphatic No!I nearly made the mistake of buying a car from Wayland Automotive. But my spidey sense started to tingle when in answer to my questions and concerns I got excuses and double-talk. Avoid them altogether -- service, car sales, gas -- everything. Listen to your spidey sense. The large blue and white police badge decal that hangs on their front window strikes me as a kind of talisman to ward off the police. But if my sense is correct, why should people who run an honest business be afraid of the police? If you think about it, the giant decal is actually an insult to the police department because it suggests that the police are fools to be seduced from doing their job by sycophantic displays and flattery.Youre a busy man, Rich, so let me help you with your usual, ready-made, boilerplate B.S. response to yet another negative review: Oh, Francis, my friend, we are truly sorry you have this impression of us. Rest assured we pride ourselves on outstanding and honest service. It sounds like there was a miscommunication on our end, although we hope youll rest assured all of the vehicles we sell have been inspected thoroughly. If theres anything we can do for you, please dont hesitate to reach out, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. When a dealership, or any business, repeatedly finds itself in situations where it has to say out loud that they are honest, and that they are sincerely sorry for any miscommunication on our end, the public has a right to wonder whether these miscommunications are deliberate, and maybe even strategic, and whether it makes any sense to believe that such a business is honest. In other words, if you have to say youre honest, youre probably not.P.S. Whenever you buy a car, especially from private seller, or from a small operation like Wayland Automotive, always have a pre-purchase inspection performed by a reputable shop. It will cost you about $100, but this is a small price to pay to protect you against disaster. Make sure the shop has the experience, technical know-how, and computer software to analyze and diagnose that specific make and model of car. And make sure the people working at the shop arent buddies with the seller. Also, if the seller offers to provide the state inspection sticker, as The Team at Wayland Automotive does, tell them thanks, but no thanks, that you will take care of it yourself. Then take the car to an inspection station you know and trust and let them do the sticker. Make sure to them you just bought the car and that you would like the inspection performed strictly by the book. They will understand your concern and gladly comply. If there is anything wrong with the car, you need to know about it now, while you can still take legal action, not later when you are outside the window of protection provided by law. If the seller ignores your request and goes ahead and does the state inspection sticker anyway, spend an extra $35 and have the inspection done a second time. If the car fails, now you have them twice: once for selling you a defective car, and again for passing a vehicle that was not fit to pass. As always, caveat emptor: Let the buyer beware.Best of luck in the future to you too, Rich.

I bought a car on Ebay, can you believe it? I had been researching and searching about appropriate cars for my teenage daughter. I stumbled on the exact car my daughter wanted.I knew specs, mileage, color, model, year, book value and price i was hoping to find. Wayland Automotive had what I wanted and provided the usual professional on-line car dealer had, BUT, Wayland had the exact car I wanted for over $1000.00 less than book value. How could this be?, I thought. Upon studying Wayland reviews, Location, and Business information I decided the Ebay listing cut out all the baggage/costs of a large dealership. I made an offer on Ebay. Rich,... called me promptly, the next day. Very straight forward discussion . I made a reasonable... offer and Rich came back with a reasonable offer. I did everything by, email, phone and mail, including payment. I specifically waited to write this review, almost a year after I purchased my GMC truck from Wayland Auto. I needed a simple, weekend work truck to help me move things around, that was dependable, wasnt going to go to the shop every month and had low miles. I own properties and do alot of work myself.March 2017 I purchased a truck from here, working with Rich. He gave me a fair price, promised to fix a few things and was quite on time with everything. Before i took the truck home, I had them fix 5 things, fairly minor. While 4 things were address, one problem kept coming back up. After working with his shop for about 2 weeks, they werent able to fix it. Rich was very fair and wrote me a check for the work my mechanic had done on the truck to have it pass inspection and work correctly. My mechanics words exactly i would personally buy and drive this truck, all you need is a few tune up in here and i wont see you again. I stop by occasionally to say hi, no need to have them do work.Almost a year after having the truck, there has not been any issues with it,drives perfectly fine and has driven over 10K miles, in harsh conditions. 4X4 works perfectly, something that most trucks fail quick. Turns on every single time and does what its supposed to.I waited before writing this to ensure i didnt buy a lemon from these guys.Rich is fair with his prices, will help you out and is true to his word. I Purchased a car at Wayland Automotive in June. Before taking delivery of it there were some issues where the turn signals would just stop working. They assured me the problem was fixed. 4 months later the signals stopped working again. Come to find out their fix for the problem was to put a 30A fuse in where there should have been a 7.5A fuse. This meant that the problem appeared fixed for a while, but because of the high current the turn signal relay burned out. Now I am stuck with a car that has an intermittent short someplace and the mechanic is saying it will be extremely time consuming to find.
