That includes stuff that has nothing to do with what they sell, but more where to go, based on our interests and abilities. Great little outfitter store. Camping,biking or kayaking they have quality equipment. no big box store junk.

A good selection of all types of hiking/trail products. They have backpacks, shoes, bikes and parts. They also repair bikes. Good products for camping and kayaking as well. The people who work there are very helpful and knowledgeable. If you are hiking it is definitely a great place to shop.

I have used the bike shop on two occasions to fix an issue. The first ended up being an improperly installed disc brake caliper. The manufacturer threaded the screw holding the caliper to the frame at a wrong angle and it was offset. They were able to re-tap the threads and fix it.The second time I had a rear wheel with a through axle with bad bearings. I mean real bad, toast. They were able to get the old bearings out and install a fresh set. Very good work on both occasions and a super reasonable price. I highly recommend the shop.

I bought my Deuter ACT LITE 40 + 10 here in 2003. It completed a thru-hike that year and many subsequent adventures through the years. I only recently gifted it away. The brand came recommended by one of your employees. So heres my timely review saying thanks.

My first experience at Rockfish Gap Outfitters was with Chuck. I had just purchased a used Kayak for fishing and had lots of questions. He took his time and explained to me what I might need. He wasnt just trying to sell me useless things in order to make a sale. My next time was with Rich. I wanted to get an anchor trolley installed on my kayak. I showed Rich the set up I wanted from a YouTube video. He ordered the parts I needed and called me to let me know how the progress was going. His work was perfect!! I live in Richmond and will always drive 1.5 hours to do business with Rockfish Gap Outfitters.

Great place. Everyone was knowledgeable, patient, and helpful. They have everything you could possibly need. I talk a lot and the two guys helping me were super cool and being very attentive. It makes you miss the independent Outdoor shops.

I drove an hour and a half out of my way to go to Rockfish Gap Outfitters and was not disappointed. They were the closest Gransfors Bruk Axe dealer to me and I drove there hoping they had some in stock. They had a few, but unfortunately not the one I was hoping for. It was a long shot anyway. They were very prompt in checking with the manufacturer and getting back to me that they could order it. Then the order came in incredibly fast and they were impeccable about contacting me when it arrived. Their pricing was also cheaper than most places online and the service was friendly and personable. Overall, it couldn’t have been any better. I highly recommend this great shop.

Needed a bike that was the absolute best I could get for the lowest price.went here when I needed a functional no fuss bike which I had tried all year to find.all other brands were ether too expensive or just pieces of junk.I got a single speed road bike from them and it has been worth well more than its price.no problems whatsoever!.they also offer free tuneups for a month which also includes any component upgrades that you may have in mind.they are family owned and operated and they value their customers a great deal, going out of their way to make sure you are satisfied and will come back.it was well worth the long drive from Grottoes.you wont go wrong here 😁.

This is my go-to outfitter. They always have what is new, as well as what is tried and true. I have purchased my long distance backpack, kayak, and even my dogs pack from this outfitter. They are 2 hours from my home, but I never skip a chance to visit. This is a solid outfitter, who works at providing their customers exactly what they need.

Very friendly staff. My back pack stove pump had broken. They could have sold me a new stove, but helped me with a lower cost repair part. I feel this shows the staff want to help the customer more then making a high price sale.

I stopped in to get a camping hammock while in town. Prices were on par with what you could find elsewhere and the service was great. They have a huge selection of outdoor gear. Midday on a Sat there were probably 10-15 other customers in the store, but I was quickly approached and guided right to what I was looking for. Ill definitely be back.

I am not a avid bike enthusiast. Just a 57 YO guy that got a great deal on a bike. Bike needed some repair work and dropped it off at the store. Got a call back from an employee named Jack who helped me out immensely on getting it fixed. That to me is personalized service that is rare these days.

The staff are friendly and very helpful if you ask them questions. The reason I gave it 3 stars is that I brought my bike in the get fixed (needed some fine tuning in the front wheel to make it straight so nothing big). The bike has been in the shop for three weeks and it still hasnt been worked on. One of the employees said that they are really bogged down but three weeks? Thats just insane.

Great place to get new outdoor gear or perhaps repair some broken ones. If youre a AT hiker then I suggest definitely stopping there and talk to the people there not only are they a good chat but you will also most certainly meet other hikers while you are there!
