The people leaving negative reviews are either rude themselves, dont like the idea that a woman owns it, or they are just doing it for other local shops. I have bought all my lawn equipment here, had things serviced in the past that I didnt buy there, and I have had nothing but a great experience every time. Very knowledgeable, helpful, and honest folks. Its the only place I will go now.

Called to see if they had a part for a Husqvarna zero turn in stock. I gave the OEM part number provided by Husqvarna that was easily looked up by multiple dealerships. I was told it was not a husky part and that they needed the model number of the engine that I recently bought. I happily provided that part number seeing as how I just bought and installed the engine. I was rudely told that I was looking for mower parts and not engine parts which was an assumption on the salesperson and inaccurate considering that I gave them the exact part number off the bat. Seeing as how the gentleman (probably a nice guy) on the phone was more interested in being right as opposed to assisting me in searching for the part I need. I told the man that it was no big deal, I would call around to see if anyone else could find it. The reply from the salesperson was an abrupt, Fine, whatever, bye! I am a customer service professional and understand the intricacies of business communication. It may have been a 1-off interaction but my belief is that this business needs improvement in the service department.

Rude staff, old unkept equipment that’s just packed with grease, excavator loses hydraulic power under a small load, trailer brakes do not exist. Over priced for the caliber of equipment. Will not be using this business for heavy equipment again

Ive never broken an Oregon chainsaw chain in my 47 years of cutting wood. I bought a Carlton chain, because they didnt have an Oregon chain in stock.. It broke within minutes of using it.I took it back to Balsam Rental, they wouldnt replace it, even thought it was still new. The short, bald guy was very rude. The woman owner was kinda hot, but also rude.They also have a nasty parrot in the front of the store, which carries disease.I wont go back to Balsam Rental.

Some of the rudest people I have ever dealt with! They are the worst when it comes to customer service! I have been trying to rent a machine for months and they tell me it is out so I ask them to give me a date it will be in so I can let the folks erecting a building for me know and they say they cant do that and they wont contact who has it to get me a date. They curse me and tell me they dont care if I ever get a machine it doesnt make any difference to them! Sad way ro run a business!

Great customer service! Honda parts and service on my outdoor equipment. Bought a Redmax weed eater there and couldnt figure out how to reload the twine...they patiently showed me and got me going again!

Ive done business with Balsam Rd for over 2 decades. Ive always been taken care of by honest and skilled ppl. Highly recommend If you need rentals or repairs.

By far the worst rental company i have ever rented from!!!! rented concrete saw . after five hour of trying to cut concrete called company it was not running right and done wasted time . there service man came and pretty much made it look like i was pushing it to hard . i know what i was doing . they would never say it was there equipment that was not running right and was rude when went back . went to another rental company picked up saw and had job done in a hour !! in short just thought they could have handled it way better !!!

Avoid if at all possible. They are not open on Saturdays, so a late Friday rental of a non-functional piece of equipment meant we were out of luck for the weekend. The phones are turned off after 5pm on Friday so there is absolutely no help available. [Think about this: if you owned a rental equipment business and most people can only do home maintenance on the weekends, wouldnt you be open on Saturday to capitalize on that spike in activity?] To make matters worse, the female counter clerk had a definite attitude problem, both during the rental and the return. I was born in the morning but it wasnt this morning, and I know more than just a little about power equipment. We tried everything possible to get the rented pressure washer to work. The O-ring wouldnt seal in the connection between the wand and the hose, so the machine wouldnt build sufficient pressure to work any better than a regular garden hose. We even made 2 cross-town trips to Lowes on a Friday night searching for a remedy, to no avail. We ended up buying a pressure washer for just about double what Balsams weekend (2-day) fee is ... we took our Lowes receipts with us when we returned the machine and the lady representative didnt want to look at them, much less hear about the details of our experience. She sighed and walked away as I was trying to explain the problem, treating us as though we were just a bunch of idiots unable to follow operating instructions. It was just a complete waste of time. So unless you absolutely have to rent, and absolutely have no other options on where you rent, I would recommend that you stay away from this place if you can ...

The woman who owns the place thinks everyone is a dummy when she in fact had probably only ran a mower or a blower herself, and people who come there are professionals mostly. I wouldnt recommend this place. When she doesnt agree with you, you can bet she calls you an idiot when you leave. Heard her say it many times.
